Mount Bromo: The Breath of the Gods

Mount Bromo is a semi-active volcano that still roars like thunder and continuously emits white smoke from its crater, resembling the breath rising from the earth's depths. This phenomenon has earned it the nickname 'The Breath of the Gods.' Standing at 2,329 meters above sea level, Mount Bromo is not particularly tall. Visitors can hike or ride a horse from the base to the summit. The name 'Mount Bromo' is derived from 'Brahma,' the Hindu god of creation, in the Javanese language. Mount Bromo is located in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park and is part of the Tengger massif in East Java. The journey to the Bromo crater is quite long, approximately 2-3 kilometers round trip. However, it's a leisurely walk, and horse services are available for those who prefer not to walk. The area around Mount Bromo is filled with sulfur and dust, making a face mask essential due to the thick dust and strong winds.
