Nepal Pokhara Travel: Encountering the Second Largest Local Festival, the Most Romantic Festival - Diwali

During my trip to Pokhara, Nepal, I was fortunate to experience one of the most important local festivals, Diwali (also known as Tihar or the Festival of Lights). Held annually in October or November, the festival lasts for five days. Diwali is one of Nepal's major festivals, second only to Dashain. Nepalese people light rows of clay lamps (deva) at their doorsteps and create beautiful patterns. The festival symbolizes the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness, hence the name Diwali. That night, as I walked through the streets of Pokhara, I saw the streets illuminated with countless lights. It felt like I was traversing through the Milky Way. Who would have thought that such a romantic festival exists in the world?
