Pontorson Town

Pontorson is a commune in the Manche department, located in the Normandy region of France. It is situated approximately 9 km from Mont Saint-Michel and is known as a base for tourism. The town is surrounded by the Couesnon River, with vast marshlands and reclaimed land to the south. It enjoys a mild oceanic climate and was historically recorded as 'Pontem Urso' around 1170.
