Build a long corridor, watch the vast sea, and admire the rising sun! Nest·Beidaihe

Every time I come to Beidaihe, Pigeon Nest is a must-visit place! Also known as Eagle Corner Park, due to the geological fracture, there is a huge rock on the seaside cliff that resembles a standing eagle, hence the name Eagle Corner Rock. The rock is over 20 meters high, and often groups of pigeons gather at dawn and dusk or nest in the crevices, thus the name Pigeon Nest. Build a long corridor, watch the vast sea, and admire the rising sun! Located at the easternmost end of the Beidaihe seaside, Pigeon Nest is the best place to watch the sunrise over the sea. Every morning, tens of thousands of tourists gather here to witness the spectacular scene of the 'red sun bathing in the sea'. At the top of the park's Dingding Mountain, there is a 3.2-meter-tall statue of the Chairman, with Mao Zedong's poem 'Lang Tao Sha·Beidaihe' carved in marble on the eastern base. The statue was erected by the Beidaihe District Government in 1992 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mao Zedong's birth. In 1954, Mao Zedong came to Beidaihe for the second time, coinciding with a disastrous rainstorm in Beidaihe. Touched by the scene, he wrote 'Lang Tao Sha·Beidaihe'. The heavy rain falls on Youyan, The white waves surge to the sky, Fishing boats outside Qinhuangdao. A vast expanse of water, all out of sight, To whom does it belong? Events of a thousand years past, Wei Wu brandished his whip, There are remnants of the past at the Jieshi Mountain to the east. The bleak autumn wind is here again today, But the world has changed.
