🇪🇸Radiant Ronda🇪🇸 We stroll along the square, where there are numerous houses, small museums, convents and little eateries are housed. We also pass by a Mon Dragon museum, also known as The Municipal Museum of Ronda - Palacio de Mondragón , of a historical-archaeological nature, houses a permanent collection in its facilities that offers a discourse on the history of the region supported by the different archaeological investigations carried out so far in the territory. Legend has it that it was the residence of the great King Abbel Malik or Abomelic, son of the Sultan of Morocco Abul Asan. The we walk by a Catholic cathedral , the Church of Santa María La Mayor, one of the most important sacred monuments of Ronda.Also known as the Iglesia de Santa Maria la Mayor, building the church began in 1485 and was finally completed in the late 17th century. An earthquake in 1850 unfortunately destroyed part of the original construction and reconstruction works had to be carried out. Inside the church is an arch that was part of the mihrab (prayer niche that indicates the direction of Mecca) of the Moorish mosque. It's also possible to visit the roof of the church for panoramic views around the town.
