A spiritual experience in Garin Farm. Owned by a well known family in Iloilo, Philippines the Garin family. Garin Farm is located at San Joaquin, Iloilo the southern part of Iloilo province it is an inland resort and a functional farm that showcase agricultural practices as well as recreational place and a pilgrimage site. You can ride a jeepney or van bound for San Joaquin at Mohon Terminal or in Super Iloilo for a fare of Php 50 ($1) then tell the driver to drop you at Garin farm. The famous here is the 456-step stairs that tells nine major biblical scenes such as Noah’s Ark, birth and baptism of Jesus Christ, last supper and many more. At the top of the step stairs recreate the usual concept of what heaven looks like. This farm also have recreational activities and facilities like zip line, pool, kayaking, fishing, etc. An entrance fee of Php 150 ($3) which gives you free access to the farm and pilgrimage site but using of facilities are of separate charge. Enjoy the panoramic view of the island at the top of Mt. Opao peak at Sicogon Island, Carles, Iloilo, Philippines. A 5-hour ride town from city of iloilo by land then take a boat going to the island for an hour or when coming from Manila they have a small airport in this island. This was my first hiking experience and such a fulfillment to reach the top. While on your way to the peak you will see many pitcher plants. Once you arrived at the peak, it feels like your tiredness wiped away because of breathtaking view and fresh air and witness the landing of a small airplane. Also, a perfect way to escape stresses in life and the city with stunning views that soothes the mind. I had fun striking a pose with the island as the background. Treat yourself, family or friends for a sweet treat and coffee at Dafalong’s Garden Cafe and Mini Park while breathing fresh air and see the breathtaking view of Northern Iloilo mountains from afar. Located at National Road Brgy. Bagacay, San Dionisio, Iloilo, Philippines.If you’re coming from the City of Iloilo you can ride a jeepney or taxi going to Ceres Bus terminal and take a Ceres bus heading to San Dioniso Iloilo just ask the driver to drop you at Dafalongs. Enjoy your cup of coffee while staring at their beautiful landscape mini-park outside. Relax and enjoy the greens from different variety of plants beside the pond filled with water lilies. You can also buy plants and cut flowers from their garden. All day rice meals are also available and cake slices at their cafe. The mini park entrance fee is Php 60 ($1.5) for adults and kids below 5 years old are free. You must try the famous Filipino dish Pork Adobo (Pork cooked with soy sauce and vinegar).
