The Blooming of Magnolia - Exhibition of Chinese Humanities and Science Treasures

I remember visiting an exhibition called 'The Blooming of Magnolia - Exhibition of Chinese Humanities and Science Treasures' at Zhang Garden, where over a hundred pieces of famous letters and manuscripts were on display. The exhibition was divided into three chapters: 'A Century of Light', 'Brilliant Literary Stars', and 'The Light of Science'. The exhibits included many handwritten letters, showcasing the patriotism and noble character of literary figures such as Ba Jin, Shen Yanbing, and Xia Yan, as well as the steadfastness and firm beliefs of democratic figures like Zhang Yuanji, Zhang Shizhao, and Huang Yanpei. There were also precious manuscripts revealing the pragmatic and innovative spirit of renowned scientists like Qian Xuesen, Qian Sanqiang, and Zhu Guangya. As the 2024 Shanghai Science Festival is about to open, these treasured exhibits have become an important carrier to reflect the spirit of scientists, forming a resonant echo. Holding the exhibition at Zhang Garden is not only a tribute to the innovative ideas of the Shanghai School but also a commemoration and inheritance of the humanities and scientific spirit of Shanghai and even China.
