Visit Fengjing Ancient Town: A slow-paced life interwoven with the poetic water town and drizzle.

In early autumn in Shanghai, I missed the famous group wedding event, but I still had a strong desire to visit Fengjing Ancient Town. I took a bus and came to this poetic ancient town. That day, the sky was gloomy, and the air was filled with moisture, as if a drizzle was about to come. This kind of weather added a layer of mystery and tranquility to the ancient town. When I entered Fengjing Ancient Town, the first thing that caught my eye was the winding river and the ancient stone bridge across it. The water under the bridge was as calm as a mirror, reflecting the white walls and black tiles on both sides of the river and the simple buildings. The air was filled with the fresh scent of plants, accompanied by the sound of water gently slapping the shore, which made people slow down. In this ancient town with a history of more than 1,500 years, traces of history can be seen everywhere. The mottled stone slab road in the alley, the old wooden window, and the river bank with drooping willows, every scene seems to be whispering past stories. Although the sky was gloomy, everything in the ancient town was still full of vitality, like a light ink painting unfolding before my eyes. On such a cloudy day, walking into the food street of the ancient town and tasting local food became a warm moment in the journey. When I sat down and ordered a zongzi, the fragrance of the zongzi leaves immediately came to my nose. The zongzi here has a soft and glutinous skin and rich fillings. The taste of salted egg yolk and meat filling is rich but not greasy. Each bite contains the simplicity and deliciousness unique to Jiangnan. Sitting in the shop, quietly watching the river view, the rain began to fall slowly, the tranquility and comfort at this moment made me feel warm. When I finished wandering in the ancient town and was about to leave, the drizzle fell gently, hitting the stone slab road, and a little light appeared. This drizzle added a bit of poetry to the ancient town, and there were fewer pedestrians on the street. Holding an umbrella and walking on the ancient bridge, I could feel another charm of the water town-in the misty rain, its tranquility and leisure became more moving. The gloomy sky and the river complement each other, putting a gentle veil on this ancient town. In the rain, I looked back at this ancient town with a long history for the last time, and my heart was full of attachment to it. Although I didn't encounter the expected lively scene that day, the drizzle brought unexpected surprises and touches to my journey. The beauty of Fengjing lies not only in its history and architecture, but also in its ability to make people forget the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy inner peace in a slow pace. When I left, the rain became denser, and I stepped into the return journey in the drizzle, but my heart was full of gratitude for Fengjing. The poetry and slow life of this ancient town will be long in my memory and become one of my most beautiful memories of the water town in Jiangnan.
