Shenyang Fangcheng Cultural Tourism Area: A Cultural Treasure Trove

Shenyang Fangcheng Cultural Tourism Area is located at No. 4, Jiumen South Lane, Jiumen Road, Shenhe District, Shenyang, Liaoning Province. It is the core part of Shenyang's historical and cultural city, covering an area of 1.69 square kilometers. The area is rich in historical and cultural resources and unique tourist attractions. It is home to the Shenyang Imperial Palace, a world-class cultural heritage site and one of the only two remaining royal palace complexes in China. Built in 1625, it has high historical and artistic value. There are also national key cultural relics protection units with diverse architectural styles, including the Great Green Building and the Small Green Building, showcasing different architectural styles. Shenyang Middle Street, as a national model pedestrian street, is a great place for tourists to shop and relax. In addition, the area has 41 provincial and municipal cultural relics protection units and historical buildings, 57 cultural relics and ancient sites, 67 historical streets and alleys, and 49 time-honored brands and intangible cultural heritage items. For example, historical buildings such as the old Tianhe Silk House, ancient sites such as the Confucian Temple and the Cuisheng Academy, and traditional time-honored brands such as Laobian Dumplings. Cultural alleys are also one of the features of Fangcheng. In 2019, Shenyang Fangcheng was successfully included in the national 5A-level tourist attraction reserve list. After continuous renovation and upgrading, the tourism supporting facilities have been increasingly improved, and the popularity of the scenic area has been rising, making it the "first stop" of the top ten scenic spots in Liaoning's boutique tourism routes selected by online voting.
