Shenyang Dongta Huguo Temple, guardian of the ancient city of Shengjing

Shenyang Dongta Huguo Temple, also known as Dongta Yongguang Temple, is one of the four pagodas and four temples in Shenyang during the early Qing Dynasty. It was built in the eighth year of the Chongde period of the Qing Dynasty (1643) and completed in the second year of the Shunzhi period (1645), symbolizing "the light of wisdom illuminating all." When visiting, be sure to check the opening hours in advance. Dongta Huguo Temple is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Sunday. Like the other three pagodas and three temples, be sure to avoid the closing time. No ticket is required, but you can prepare some change for donations. You can take bus 140 to the nearby stop and walk to the temple. If you are driving, you can park on the roadside, but parking spaces may be limited during peak hours. Upon arrival at Dongta Huguo Temple, you can first admire the ancient and solemn white round-bellied solid brick pagoda, which is 24 meters high and covers an area of 225 square meters. It consists of three parts: the base, the pagoda body, and the wheel. The brick-carved lions on the base, the Buddha niche on the south side of the pagoda body, and the thirteen-story wheel and the pagoda top composed of copper-cast inverted treasure covers, sun, moon, and treasure beads are all worth savoring. Next, visit the temple buildings and experience their unique architectural style and historical charm. Nearby Dongta Huguo Temple is Dongta Park, a park centered around the pagoda, 130 meters long and covering an area of 16,000 square meters. The park has restored two stele pavilions, paved roads with imitation Qing Dynasty bricks, and planted green pines and cypresses. Please note that when visiting, you must respect the religious beliefs and customs of the temple, keep quiet, and visit in a civilized manner.
