The Ultimate Animal Cafe

The Fantastic Beasts Cafe takes the new "animal cafe" trend to a new level. You may have been to a cat or dog cafe before, but i doubt you have been to a cafe like this. Located near Houhai subway station in Nanshan district of Shenzhen, The Fantastic Beasts is a cafe at the top of a medium sized mall. It costs 80 RMB per person for entry, and entry comes with a choice of free drink. You are also given a small packet of carrot sticks to feed to some of the animals. There are many seating areas around the cafe and a smaller upstairs section. Roaming around the cafe are a couple of micro-pigs and micro-goats, both of which will be your best friend if you are carrying any carrot sticks. At the starting end of the cafe are three larger pens, one of which has a small deer, one has two alpacas, and one has a large parrot. These animals change occaisionally and they had a small horse before. One alpaca also roams around the cafe (dont worry, he's friendly). Further into the cafe is a glass room with several cats, you can enter this glass room if you ask the staff and pet the cats. Around the perimeter of the cafe are cages containing rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, small birds, hamsters and more. One side of the cafe also has a meerkat enclosure with several meerkats and there is a plastic dome with a tunnel for photo opportunities. They also have a raccoon. At the other end of the cafe is another room with several cats and kittens that are for sale. They have a variety of breeds and you can liase with the staff to find out about how to adopt one for yourself. Overall a pretty unique experience and one i would strongly recommend for animal lovers in Shenzhen. #zoos #staycation
