However, due to the advancement of tourism and real estate development, the supply of sand has decreased and the area of the beach has decreased. In order to protect this tourist resource, Wakayama Prefecture has started a 'beach nourishment' plan since 1989. After a component survey, it was found that the sand in Perth, Australia, is compatible with Shirahama. Since then, about 140,000 tons of Australian sandstone have been supplemented here. 🔻Take the Meiko Bus to 'Senjojiki', where there are large white rocks stacked up formed by the erosion of the sea waves all year round.
