Beautiful view of Tianlong Mountain Grottoes

Tianlongshan Grottoes, the fist is so hard——Tianlongshan Grottoes Excavated during the Eastern Wei, Northern Qi, Sui and Tang dynasties, it can be said to be the pinnacle of Chinese grotto art from the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Sui and Tang dynasties, and is also a typical example of the gradual localization of Buddhist grottoes. In the early 1920s, under the guidance of Japanese businessmen, the Tianlongshan Grottoes were robbed and looted on a large scale. Almost all the statues had their heads chiselled and were sent overseas, including many high-quality full-body statues. To this day, only one Buddha head has been returned. It was identified as the main Buddha head on the north wall of Cave 8 in the Sui Dynasty. Patriots living in Japan later purchased the Buddha head with their own funds and donated it to the country free of charge. After Returning Buddha made its debut in the 2021 Spring Festival Gala, the Tianlongshan Grottoes gradually became well-known and are currently being applied for World Heritage along with the Jinci Temple.
