Andalucia Tour ~ Tarifa The island and the interpretation center are very interesting. It has a history of thousands of years. Today it is an ecological reserve. You don't see many birds or other animals except seagulls. The Interpretation Centre is well equipped and provides a brief history of the island as well as information on the local flora and fauna and other features of the Strait of Gibraltar. The visit starts at 12 noon, but you must buy your tickets a little earlier at the tourist office in the city center (4 euros for adults, must be paid by card). This is the only slightly problematic aspect of visiting the island. The local guide gave a brief explanation in Spanish and English.
