The First City of Heat

Tengchong Volcanic Geopark is a place full of mystery and power, waiting for you to explore! Transportation: From Tengchong City, you can take a direct bus or a taxi/drive to the park, which is about 20 km away. Ticket information: Each visitor needs to pay CNY 35 for admission. Tour suggestions: There are two developed volcanoes in the park, namely Dakong Mountain and Xiaokong Mountain. It is recommended to climb Dakong Mountain first, which is relatively easy to climb and takes about two hours for a round trip. When you reach the top of the mountain, don't forget to walk around the crater to get a more comprehensive view of the volcano's magnificence. Dakong Mountain lost its trees due to a historical fire, so you can see the shape of the volcano more clearly. Xiaokong Mountain is a smaller volcano with dense trees, and its volcanic features may be difficult to recognize at first glance. If you choose to visit both volcanoes, it will take about three to four hours. Visitors with average physical strength or limited time are advised to visit only Dakong Mountain.
