This is one of the best places in Japan to get your freshest servings of amazing fish and seafood. If you can afford to be an early riser, come in the wee hours of the morning to catch the lively tuna auction where these prized fish go to the highest bidder. Otherwise, do still aim to head down way before 11am as that’s when many of the good restaurants and stalls have sold out their produce. There is also a wet market for locals to do their grocery shopping. So envious that they have fresh fish right on their doorstep!
