Carving of the Big Buddha, Luang Pho U Thong, Phra Phuttha Pusayakiri Sris

The Buddha image carved into a cliff is called Phra Phuttha Pusayakiri Si Suwan or Luang Pho U Thong. It is located near Wat Khao Tham Thiam, at the Flying Dragon Cliff in the U Thong Ancient City Buddha Monument, U Thong District, Suphan Buri Province. Luang Pho U Thong is 108 meters high and 88 meters wide at the base. It is the largest Buddha image carved into a cliff in the world. With its unique beauty and the cliffs surrounding the Buddha image, tourists continuously stop by to make merit and take pictures. Behind the Buddha image on the cliff is a tunnel of rocks. Inside the tunnel is the image of Phra Mae Thorani Bhib Muai Hom and other sacred Buddha images for tourists to pay homage to. Tourists can walk through it. The air is cool and comfortable because there is a constant breeze blowing through. The surrounding scenery is beautiful. There is a large pool of water and a pavilion for viewing the scenery.
