Hong Kong Version Dragon Ball Roll

Recently, I've been busy with renovations and haven't been able to travel, so I decided to treat myself to a good meal. I went to Saiwa Sushi House in Wan Chai to make up for the missed opportunity in Tokyo and had the Hong Kong version of the Dragon Ball Roll and shaved ice. We ordered a set for two at $880. The set included two appetizers: black plum shellfish and sweet tomatoes, both very fresh. Next was the Japanese steamed egg. It had large pieces of clam meat and a hint of yuzu, adding a refreshing touch. Sashimi (4 types) The sea bream was fresh and firm, topped with plum meat, giving it a tangy taste. The Oita oyster with sour sauce was fresh, sweet, and smooth, with a crispy edge. The smoked and seared bonito was prepared with a blowtorch for added drama, and the chef even did a few extra sprays for us to record. The fish had a smoky aroma and was very fresh. The Pacific saury roll, in season, was paired with perilla leaves and pickled radish, making it both rich and refreshing. Next came the wagyu sukiyaki and five skewers. The skewers included pork belly, chicken wings, large tiger prawns, okra, and shiitake mushrooms, with cherry tomatoes on the side. The pork belly was rich and flavorful, the chicken wings were juicy and crispy, and the tiger prawns were firm and bouncy. The sukiyaki sauce wasn't overly sweet, and the wagyu melted in your mouth, paired with vegetables and noodles, it was hot and comforting. After the sashimi, the hot food was even more satisfying. Sushi section Upgraded anglerfish liver puff, the puff was sweet, paired with creamy fish liver sauce, it was surprisingly delicious! Seared otoro, with a charred aroma and overflowing with fat. Scallop roll, small scallops with a great texture. Sea urchin roll, fresh and rich. The highlight of the meal was the extra-cost Saiwa Tai Roll. I missed it in Tokyo, so I came here specifically to try it. The chef carefully layered soy-marinated egg yolk, cucumber, otoro, lean tuna, and sea urchin, creating a visually stunning dish! It's best enjoyed in one big bite, truly satisfying and delicious! Rich, smooth, fresh, and sweet, the various textures lingered in my mouth, making it a delightful experience. Then came the hot fish soup, with a hint of sansho pepper, adding a slight numbing sensation to the fresh sweetness. Shaved ice We chose red wine raisin and wrinkled melon flavors. The chef prepared the shaved ice on the spot, which was delightful to watch! The soft and fluffy ice had the aroma of wine, raisins, and melon, making for a sweet and refreshing end to the evening. 😋
