Here, you can visit the thousand-year-old temple for free and encounter a romantic sea of cherry blossoms. It's a surprise for everyone at the beginning of 2025, and it's a super healing temple hidden by the people of Guangdong. Moreover, tickets, parking, vegetarian meals, accommodation, and incense are all free! This ancient temple is 1,600 years old, hidden in the mountains, with glazed tiles and about 1,000 cherry blossoms all over the mountains. Now is the best time to see them. The master in the temple said, "This place only accepts restless hearts," which is really Zen. You can also experience the cyber chanting exclusive to workers here. At 6 am, you can follow the master to the morning class. When copying the scriptures, the cherry blossom petals outside the window float into the inkstone, and you feel your soul is purified. In the afternoon, you can meditate and listen to the sound of copper bells and mountain winds, like listening to a wonderful duet. Even the Wi-Fi in the temple is very Buddhist, and sending messages feels like a "merit +1" mode. Speaking of food, there are many delicacies in Shaoguan Wengyuan. For example, Zhoubei rice dumplings are made of rice flour and filled with various fillings, which are soft and chewy. There are also Wengyuan Sanhua plums, which are sweet and sour, and juicy when you take a bite. Although there are no fresh Sanhua plums this season, you can try the preserved fruit made from them. If you want to play around, Wengyuan's Youlan Valley Scenic Area is very good, with a large sea of flowers and beautiful scenery. If you want to go to Donghua Zen Temple, it is located in Wengyuan County, Shaoguan City. If you start from the Pearl River Delta, you can drive by yourself, navigate directly to "Donghua Zen Temple," and it will take about 2.5 hours. If you take the high-speed train, go to Shaoguan Station first, then take the bus to Longxian Bus Station, and then take a taxi for about 15 minutes. There are also some things to pay attention to when visiting the temple. Keep quiet and don't make loud noises. When entering the main hall of the temple, remember to enter from the doors on both sides, not from the middle door. Also, respect the rules of the temple and the living habits of the monks, so that you can have a perfect temple trip. The cherry blossom season is only seven days, but the Zen here is always there.
