Wulong: The Giant Pit You Can't Avoid

Taking the elevator into the Tiankeng Scenic Area feels like entering the last human refuge in a disaster movie. Photos cannot capture the insignificance of humans in nature. The first time I learned about the Tiankeng was from the movie 'Curse of the Golden Flower,' and later from 'Transformers 4.' The most profound impression the Tiankeng gives is its isolated and independent atmosphere. Outside the Tiankeng are steep mountains, but inside there are vast flatlands, making the terrain very peculiar. Longshuixia Fissure is a typical karst landform. The deepest part of the fissure can reach several hundred meters, making it seem bottomless and visually stunning. The magical part is that the scenery within the fissure is pleasant, with rich vegetation, babbling brooks, and a waterfall cascading down from the mountain above, as if entering an underground parallel world.
