Day 7: Xiaojin—Mount Siguniang—Chengdu The last scenic spot of the trip is Shuangqiaogou Valley in Mount Siguniang. It is more than 40 km from Xiaojin County to Shuangqiaogou Valley. To leave enough time for sightseeing in Shuangqiaogou Valley and return to Chengdu earlier, we chose to set off at 6:30. On the way, we passed Dawa Town and saw the tall Dawa Meeting Monument standing on the right side of the road. According to the inscription on the monument, on June 12, 1935, the vanguard of the Central Red Army met with the Red Fourth Front Army in Dawa. Then, on June 17, Mao Zedong, Zhang Wentian, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, and others led the CPC Central Committee to cross Mount Jiajin and arrive in Dawa. After that, the two main forces of the Red Army met in Maogong. It turns out that Xiaojin was formerly known as Maogong, and the mountain in front of us is Mount Jiajin, the first snow mountain crossed by the Red Army. We unexpectedly encountered the history we learned in middle school. Mount Siguniang is in full autumn, with colorful scenery. You can take a great photo with a casual shot. The scenic area opens at 8:00, and we arrived 20 minutes early. First, take a sightseeing bus to the terminal station, Hongshanlin Square. On the return trip, you can take a bus at the terminal station. The sightseeing bus will stop at Budala Peak, Siguna Lake, Nianyuba, Longzhu Lake, and Renshenguo Ping in turn. You can get off at each stop to visit, and then take a bus to the next stop. The minimum time for visiting the scenic area is 4.5 hours.
