Tianmu Mountain Scenic Area

Tianmu Mountain Scenic Area is located 10 km from Ruo'ao Town, Xinchang County, Shaoxing City. It is famous for the poem "Farewell to a Friend" by the Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai: "Tianmu Mountain stretches across the sky, its peaks towering over the Five Sacred Mountains and Chicheng Mountain, and its height of 48,000 zhang (160,000 ft) makes the southeast seem to tilt." Li Bai's poem vividly describes the grandeur of Tianmu Mountain. Tianmu Mountain is part of the Tiantai Mountain range and is located in Xinchang County, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. However, it is actually the sacred mountain of Li Bai's dreams. Yunzhi Terrace is the best place to view the sea of clouds at Tianmu Mountain. It is a photography spot halfway up the mountain. Three viewing platforms have been designed using the height difference of the terrain, each offering a different view. There is also a book bar and tea bar where visitors can read and enjoy tea. In 2009, the State Council announced the seventh batch of national scenic areas, and Zhejiang Xinchang Tianmu Mountain Scenic Area was ranked second among the 21 areas on the list. On January 26, 2010, the seventh batch of national scenic area press conferences was held in Beijing, and Xinchang was officially awarded the Tianmu Mountain National Scenic Area plaque, which is a recognition of Xinchang's beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage, as well as a commendation for Xinchang's commitment to tourism development. In July 2022, Tianmu Mountain was selected as the second batch of famous mountain parks in Zhejiang Province. ⏳Tour time: The scenic area is free to enter, but you need to buy a ticket to take the sightseeing bus. You also need to buy a ticket to drive into the scenic area. Tour time is 1–3 hours.
