◾️Nanzhou Island is located about 40 km southeast of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. It is bordered by Donghai Island to the north, Leizhou Bay to the west, the South China Sea to the southeast, and the Pacific Ocean to the east. It covers a total area of about 56 square kilometers. It is the largest volcanic island in China, and the entire island is a shield-shaped platform made of basalt. ◾️Nanzhou Island, Guangdong, is a primitive fishing village and a low-key island formed by an underwater volcanic eruption. Once a place where water and fire merged, it is now surrounded by blue sea water. 1. Songhuang Well: The last emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty fled here to escape the pursuit of the Yuan army. He was frightened and anxious, and when he was hungry and thirsty, a red horse dug the ground and found water. The soldiers dug a well, which has been in use for more than 700 years. 2. Nanzhou Lighthouse: Built in the 25th year of the Guangxu reign (1899), it is one of the three largest lighthouses in the world. It is now located in a military control area and cannot be viewed up close. 3. Turtle City: There are many turtles in Turtle City, basically of all kinds. There is one that is said to be from the late Ming Dynasty. It is very spiritual and will interact with you, which is very interesting... There is also a long embankment in front of the gate of Turtle City, which was the filming location of "The Bad Kids" and is now a popular spot for fans. There is a tourist bus from the pier to Turtle City, which is said to cost CNY 30 per person. I drove myself, about 9 km, and you can use a shared electric bike. The nearby Yanhai Beach and volcanic rock coast are optional. There are many banana and dragon fruit plantations along the way, and you can stop to take photos if you are interested.
