Jim Thompson House Museum

A visit to Jim Thompson house is a must in Bangkok. Don’t miss walking along the canal to see the graffiti and the Jim Thompson museum next door. You will get free entrance with you Jim Thompson tour ticket. This is the first time we took the children (6&8) and they loved it too especially when connecting the planning of the house to Minecraft building and giving them cameras to take their own photos. Will definitely visit again.

Jim Thompson's house walked a ～ for the first time in Bangkok more than a decade ago and bought several silk scarves, clothes and bags. I have known this Tess brand for a long time. This museum has also been in the collection for a long time. The ticket for punching in ～ seems to be 200 baht per person. English, Mandarin, etc. have special explanations. The mysterious missing owner, various collections of antiques, make there a sense of mystery here. There are souvenir shops that are 30% off, and there are restaurants.

Excellent museum, a traditional Thai tick wood house full of antiques and artifacts collected by Jim Thompson. You can feel his love for Thailand and Indochina cultures in this house. Definitely worth a visit when you stay in Bangkok. The Jim Thompson store and restaurant in the same domain are disappointing though.

A green-covered complex, the former residence of renowned American silk entrepreneur and art collector Jim Thompson. The entire building is a typical Thai garden consisting of six ancient Thai houses suspended on a small canal. It is also Thailand's most famous Tess store and museum, collecting and exhibiting a variety of high-end Tess. It features Jim Thompson's collection of artworks, such as home decorations, porcelain, etc., not only Thailand, but even across Asia.

This is Thompson's private courtyard with ponds and gardens, where he and his servants live. Thompson himself loves Thai culture so much that he stayed here to live and do business. There were monks who gave him a list of things to do when he was 61 and he didn't believe it. But he was actually missing while traveling in Malaysia at the age of 61, and the chart still hangs on the second floor of the Thompson Museum.

The former property of the textile entrepreneur who disappeared in 1967 and who still enjoys the highest reputation in Thailand today. The building complex, surrounded by a garden, is now managed by his foundation as a museum.Besides the impressive traditional Thai buildings that were transported from Ayutthaya to Bangkok by Thompson and its extensive antique art collection (vases, paintings, sculptures, furniture…), I was particularly fascinated by the view from the house into the wonderful garden.A peaceful green oasis in the middle of the city.Photos in and around the house were allowed during my tour (considering the privacy of the other tour participants).For me a must visit in Bangkok.
