Bellesguard

In the early fifteenth century, King Martin I, a philanthropist, built a palace at the foot of the Corcelona Mountains in Barcelona, which meant good scenery. In 1900, Antonio Gaudi, the master architect, designed and built a Neo-Gothic mansion for Maria Sarges Morris in memory of the great Catalonian kingdom. Berescude was King Martin's last residence and the end of the Catalonian kingdom.

One of Antoni Gaudí's lesser-known buildings, the Torre Bellesguard only opened to the public in 2014 and was inspired by a medieval castle, where King Martin the Humane once lived. It mixes Modernista and gothic styles and was built between 1900 and 1909. Its name in Catalan, Bellesguard means 'beautiful views' or 'good viewing point' and it certainly lives up to this title, being located among the hills in the north of the city. You can choose a self-guided tour around the building and the grounds with an audio guide, or a full guided tour, available in a variety of languages. At 9 Euros it's a lot cheaper to enter than some of Gaudí's other masterpieces too, so is great for those on a budget.

La torre Bellesguard es uno de los edificios de Antoni Gaudí. Se trata de un edificio muy particular ya que es de los pocos del genio Catalán que mezcla los estilos gótico y modernista. Se levantó en lo que entonces fuera el solar de un castillo, y se utilizaron en la construcción algunos de los elementos que quedaban de la vieja fortaleza. Actualmente funciona como museo y sitio de exposiciones. Es un sitio precioso, con una zona de jardines muy agradable. Sin duda una de las joyas no tan conocidas de Barcelona.

La Torre Bellesguard es una construcción de Antoni Gaudi. Injustamente, esta casa no tiene ni un mínimo porcentaje de atención por parte de los turistas. Para mi es una joya. La casa tienen un estilo gótico súper modernista (si, una mezcla única). Actualmente, funciona como un casa privada con un restaurant abierto al público. Recomiendo la visita.
