The Han Yang Mausoleum is the fourth emperor of the West Han Dynasty, Jingdi Liu Qi and the king queen of the same burial cemetery. The cemetery is large in scale, covering about 20 square kilometers, and the relics on the ground and underground are extremely rich. It has been discovered that only around the sealing soil of the emperor's tomb, there are 81 external pits with a radiant distribution. They are different in length, different in connotation, and full of mystery. In 1998, archaeologists excavated and cleaned 10 external pits in the north east of the imperial tomb, and unearthed tens of thousands of precious cultural relics such as pottery, animal pottery, living utensils, granaries, weapons, cars and horses, stamping and sealing mud. From the content, distribution and sealing of the excavated objects, the text on the seal, the setting of some external pits is likely to have some symbolic significance, representing the different official offices of the central government at that time and the institutions in the court, which is a real and image reproduction of the court culture in the West Han Dynasty. Although the 10 outer pits that can be seen here are only the tip of the iceberg for the burial of the entire cemetery, the underground kingdom created by a generation of emperors may take the efforts of generations of archaeologists to fully uncover its mystery. But, after all, this is an open window through which you can see that a dynasty of grandeur two years ago is coming slowly towards us.
