A shrine that was built before the construction of Nagoya Jo castle

    Original Text

Shimamichi, an old townscape that retains the remnants of the Edo period. There was Asama Shrine along the road. Although it is a small shrine in the old cityscape, it was built to blend in with the surrounding old townscape. That should be it. This Asama Shrine is said to be one of the shrines that existed before the construction of Nagoya Castle.

    Four roads の entrance

    Original Text

A shrine at the entrance of Shigendo, a castle town of Nagoya Castle. The deity is Kihanakai Yahime. According to Owari Shi, it is recorded that it was relocated to this place in 1647, but its foundation is unknown. However, there is no doubt that it is an old shrine. In the precincts, there are many zelkova and camphor trees that are 300 years old or older. You can feel the long history of Asama Shrine on the large tree designated as a preservation tree in the city.
