Villa di Borovec

We booked the hotel together with 4 other couples. We had an amazing time in the area and the hotel is very well renovated with an excellent Spa area. Lots of entertainment for small and big. Staff was very friendly and the food was also up to standards as expected. We had a family member forget something in the hotel, and reception was extremely helpful and send it via post at their expense! Highly recommended.

In one of the more peaceful spots of Borovets at the Rila Mountain, the renovated Lion Hotel Borovets offers an indoor pool and a free shuttle service to the lifts. Each hotel room features a TV, a minibar, a telephone and en-suite bathroom with bath tub. You can work off some excess energy in the fitness centre or relax in the sauna. Fine cuisine is served in the Lion Hotel's 2 restaurants, including a traditional 'Mehana' where you can combine food and drink with a Bulgarian show. Alternatively, the many fireplaces of the lobby bar make for an inviting sight after a day out in the mountains.

The Villa Malina provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. Visitors to Borovets will find that the Villa Malina is a fantastic accommodation choice.The nearby area boasts an abundance of attractions including “Pesako” Eco trail, Borosport and Camping Borovetz.In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings.

Surrounded by pine forests, this hotel is situated in Borovets, 50 metres from the gondola lift and 250 metres from drag lifts. It houses a spa centre and numerous restaurants. At 1,300 metres above sea level, the alpine-style Hotel Samokov is 1 hour's drive from Sofia. It features a bowling alley as well as billiards and table tennis facilities. The state-of-the-art thermal area includes a hammam, steam bath, Finnish sauna, foot baths with sea salts, a Kneipp pool and a relax area. There is a gym, an indoor swimming pool and a beauty centre with cosmetic treatments and a hairdresser. The rooms are equipped with minibars, satellite TV and bathtubs. The balconies boast mountain views. Hotel Samokov's Panorama Restaurant serves buffet breakfast and dinner as well as an à la carte menu. The Barbecue Terrace next to the swimming pool offers grilled specialities, fresh salads and refreshing drinks. The Samokov has a lobby bar serving cakes, sweets and various cocktails as well as a Sports Bar next to the gym.

Seen some negative reviews on here. I’d just say it’s good value. If you’re looking for 4/5star this aint for you. If you’re looking for somewhere comfortable to sleep and are happy to eat basic Bulgarian food. then jump in. Stayed with my 11 year old son, he was happy enough (using his mobile data, the wifi is poor), ate the food without too much fuss. Staff were pleasant and kind. Would stay again. Might forgo the halfboard, and just eat out for dinner. Although for the money it was nice to have the choice.
