We stayed at Ceour de Megève for a long weekend during our recent travels through the south of France. It’s perfectly located in the heart of Megève close to shopping and restaurants. Our room was huge and included a fabulous en suite with both a tub and large walk-in shower along with a balcony. A continental breakfast was included in our rate and was gourmet quality, especially the chocolate croissants. We will absolutely stay at Ceour de Megève the next time we’re visiting the French Alps.

I booked this for one night in February as our family just wanted accommodation for a night close to megeve village for a special dinner - and this is the only place we could find in the February holidays that would take a single night booking over the weekend . So, brownie points at least for that! The price wasn’t bad and we had two rooms for 4 of us, but actually we could have all made it into one room as a family, Clearly the case as the room next to us had about 8 adults in it who partied long and hard across the balcony! Rooms were pretty large with a kitchenette. The parking was a bit of a faff and end corridors leading to our rooms were pitch black, reminded me of cinema corridors, and the rooms themselves were also too dark and narrow between bathrooms and door. Weird layout. One child was spooked by the place, so that wasn’t ideal! What a contrast with the reception which sings out at you and looks all stylish and welcoming. If the entire hotel was like that, it would be a wow . But really this is a “motel in the mountains”. Breakfast was poor value which is a shame and when I asked the staff to print me out ski passes for the day - standard request in a ski resort - they said that wasn’t possible unless I’d ordered them the night before. Other hotels just issue them at reception! I don’t think I’d stay again, but it served its purpose.

My stay at Novotel Megève was extraordinary, thanks to the exceptional staff: Lou, Lou, Claire, Juliet, Lily, Simon, and Ubaldo at the reception, as well as Jason, Béranger, Romain, Achille, Alexandre, Mohammed, Camila, Julian, Nadège, and Louis in the restaurant. Every team member went above and beyond to ensure our visit was unforgettable, with our daughters reluctant to leave. The cleaning service was impeccable, maintaining spotless rooms throughout our stay. Ideally located in the heart of Megève, Novotel is the perfect choice for guests seeking a relaxing and memorable experience, surrounded by attentive and friendly staff. A heartfelt thanks to the entire Novotel team!

Stayed here for 3 nights in a suite on the 2nd floor. Even before we arrived I had a feeling things would be good. We were contacted about lift passes, restaurants etc, which the hotel booked and organised, so we picked passes up from reception, making life very easy. We arrived and the welcome was very warm, the decor is beautiful and we were able to get into our room early which was stunning. Beautiful soft furnishings, divine bed, coffee machine etc etc everything you would expect from a 5 star with the addition of fabulous turn down with fresh delights every morning and night. Breakfast was lovely, spa was a wonderful spot at the end of the day and roof top bar really special. The service was thing that sets this hotels apart. Everything was anticipated and they couldn’t do enough for you. Dropping us off at lifts, picking us up, taking skis back for us all provided without needing to ask. We had such a wonderful time, would highly recommend and we will be back.
Fer à Cheval

Been at the hotel for skiing vacation from Feb. 9th till Feb. 16th 2024. It is important to stress that my evaluation of the place is based on comparison with other 5-stars hotels in Savoie region I have visited last couple of years. The hotel itself appears to have the gone through the last renovations many years back. That is visible in the lobby, but even more in the rooms (scratches on the walls here and there, obviously aged paint in some corners etc.). What I found especially weird in my room was the toilet bowl combined with a shower (picture enclosed). There was no drinking water supply in the rooms, which again, taking the price of the room should definitely be a standard. Other than that the premises looked ok, but only that, which considering the price of the hotel, was rather disappointing. I should mention however, that there were a lot of old wooden furniture and equipment which contributed to the cozy alpine atmosphere of the premises. The food in Fer A Cheval is definitely to be regarded as satisfactory. Diverse and good quality breakfast offer, and an exquisite in-house restaurant were a satisfying choice both for morning meal, as well as après-ski dinner with friends. The SPA area consists of swimming pool and a small gym as well as two dry and one wet sauna. The area was rather well maintained, although the saunas were not always working, which was frustrating. The staff was neither prompt in having them fixed. Other than that, however, the staff should be regarded as friendly and helpful, although not everybody (even at the reception desk!) was able to communicate in English, which should be a standard, taking the fact that there were numerus guests from abroad in the hotel. Having all that in mind, I would say the hotel left me with a slight flavor of disappointment. There were a lot of aspects and experiences which were only satisfactory, which is especially strange that it wouldn't cost a great effort on the hotel's management side, to make them simply great. Therefore, the value for money ratio of the hotel should be regarded only as average.
