Terokai Ulasan Tetamu Hotel di Kolkata

Ethnotel, Kolkata Airport

Preference was for hotel near airport. This hotel is bang on the busy road of Kolkata. Rooms are smaller and suitable only for one person per room. Somehow hotel is loved by north East Indians, south East Asians and Chinese folks. Ac was good. Shower was well quarantined. Overall Breakfast preparation was bit salty. May be chef can evaluate the reasons. On last day at breakfast I casually asked, why don’t they keep some Bengal sweet at breakfast?, as a delight, I was offered authentic jaggery Rosogolla!!

Hotel is nearby birla school, mint o park. Park street and Arselan biryani ( park circus) is walkable distance. Theater road join birla platarium. Rate is quite high on the basis of service. Breakfast is not good. Charging for drinking water. Restaurant was full of hukka lover in the evening. Smoke is everywhere in restaurant.

I shall start from arrival at the hotel. We were a family of four who had booked two rooms at the property. We arrived around 14:30 Hrs (at least 30 mins after the designated check-in time). First of all, although the check-in desk at the hotel is quite huge, there were only 3 staff members ***ning the desk, all of them occupied. We had to wait for around 15 mins, looking here and there like *****s with our bags on before someone greeted us. And I do not mind waiting for check-in; what I do mind is that despite multiple staff members seeing us wait, not one of them acknowledge our presence and asked us to take a seat and wait. They would all look at us and carry on. Forget a warm smile, forget a namaste, we were made to feel like fools just standing there without anyone attending to us. When we finally did get a chance to check in, we were given two adjacent rooms. The key to one room was handed over to us, and we were told that the second room is not ready yet and that as soon as it is ready the key would be sent to us in our room. We said okay and moved towards our room. Once in our room, all four of us sat waiting in one room for around 45 mins for the key to the second room. We were not able to unpack because we wanted to unpack in our respective rooms. Tired and hungry, we left the hotel to get ourselves some lunch and some sightseeing, hoping that by the time we return our second room would be ready. When we returned and asked for the key to the second room from the reception desk, we were told that the room that was allocated to us had been now given to someone else -- and we were given some other room that was ”close” to the first room. I understand that asking for adjacent rooms is a mere request and not a right. But had we been given a ”close” room earlier, we could have gotten the keys earlier at the time of check-in! We waited for a room for so long, only for it to be given to someone else. Fast forward to the next morning's breakfast. The spread was quite good and quite diverse in variety. However, again the entire staff at the breakfast looked tense for some reason. And they kept messing up with live counter orders. No one had a smile on, no one welcomed you with warmth, and no one made you feel as if you were staying in a 5-star hotel (which The Lalit considers itself to be). Our entire experience with The Lalit was below par at the very least. It was not the kind of experience you would expect from a branded property that so conveniently calls itself a luxury 5-star property. I honestly feel for the money that I paid, I could and should have gotten a different property and that would have been definitely better. For the foreseeable future, and till things change, I do not see myself staying at any Lalit property.
Stadia Inn

I needed a room to stay for the night after work hours within a reasonable budget. And stadia inn fits the bill perfectly. The rooms are slightly on the smaller size, but is adequate for a single person, or a double occupancy who are looking at affordable options. The restaurant is on the ground floor, and the service is quick. The only missing attribute was, there was no water bottle inside the rooms, and there were extra charges for water bottles. Even though it is a matter of 20 rupees, it would be better if water bottles are present inside the rooms when we enter the room itself, instead of requiring to order water bottles through phone.

I had stayed at this hotel for a day on 21st October 2024. I had forgotten my pair of Coach shoes of worth 16,500/- at the hotel. When I called at hotel and asked for the same, they told me that they had found my shoes and they never felt important to inform me or contact me for the same but instead they threw it off without any consent. Their GM then had called me for settlement and when I shared the actual price of the shoes by sending them the picture of shoe box with price mentioned, he wanted me to compromise on the same saying I had worn them for a year now. Then he still had committed to reimburse me the amount of 15000/- but not immediately. I asked him for the written commitment on whatsapp, he had sent me from his personal number instead of official emirates hotel number. As per his commitment, he should be reimbursing the amount within 6th November and when I told him that I am travelling at that time he just asked me to give some other contact person number which I did not want. It is Emirates internal issues and I do not want to be a part of their internal settlements. I had requested them to make the settlements by 4th nov and send me the written note of the same from their official WhatsApp number, I haven’t received yet. I am not really sure of their reimbursement and commitments made. Will update here if the hotel actually stick on to their words and if they take care of the same. Humble request to all the guests wanting to book their stay in Emirates hotel, please take care of your belongings and have a check on them as you may never know when they will be thrown without your consent. Also according to their GM if you lose anything expensive like gold they will keep that in their deposit for clients to claim but if it’s something like shoes or anyother kind of materialistic valuables, they dont find it important to inform the guests about the same and just throw it off and while claiming for the same they will expect you to compromise on its value and adjust with their settlements and according to their timelines no matter if you belong to that particular city or not. So, please think twice before booking your stay here. Please do not stay here if you carry anything valuable or expensive stuffs with you and even if you stay please be extra careful.
