Apartment no. 40 top floor 4 flights of 8 stairs, sea view Last minute 2 night stay location short walk to the beach and the *****, 2 single beds, decent size TV (if needed) kitchenette small but has what you need (has small cups, I need a decent size mug of tea in the morning) also came with washing up kit, sponge cloth and washing up liquid Bathroom, has complimentary hand gel and shower gel (empty) stall, laundry basket very large mirror plus a close up shaving mirror, 2 small bath towels, 2 hand towels and bath mat, hair dryer ( didn't use it) £25 per night (march 9th & 10th) , bad points : only 3 pillows and thin bedding no blankets in room air conditioner need a good clean and rooms need repainting(paint around air con and fireplace flaking off) shower gel was empty

Wow what a fantastic hotel, think it deserves 5 star not 4. The room was large and really well catered with a safe, lots of storage, dining table and colour TV with a few English news channels. The separate kitchen was modern had a full oven, hob, micro, dishwasher and plenty of cutlery, utensils, knifes and crockery/pots/glasses etc so you don't need to bring anything. We ate in a few nights or went to the ***** which is a long road about 5 mins from hotel which is full of restaurants/bars. An absolute gem of place to eat is called Garfolandia - small, really friendly run by a lovely lady called Alice. The food was amazing and really good value - would highly recommend. A 5 min walk takes you to an Aldi or 20 mins to the Continente shopping arcade which has plenty of choice. The hotel staff were amazing, really friendly and polite. The cleaning team ensured the place is absolutely spotless, even saw them out early in the morning cleaning the loungers. The entertainments team had a good range of activity's for young and old - aqua aerobics, archery, table tennis, skittles, boules, bingo, quiz etc. The heated indoor pool was a gem on a cooler day. The outdoor pool is not heated and water is cold this time of year however once your in its okay - its getting the courage to get in that's the challenge :) We decided to get a private taxi back to Faro, only took c. 40 mins and the front desk booked it for us. 45 euros for family of 4. We hope to return again sometime soon - a real gem.

A Cozy Getaway with a Few Quirks I recently had the pleasure of staying at Block C in a wonderful location near the beach. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there, as the bedroom was spacious and beautifully designed. However, there were a few quirks that left us slightly puzzled. Locating the signage for the establishment proved to be a small challenge, but it added a sense of adventure to our experience. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in our room left something to be desired. It struggled to keep the temperature comfortably cool, and we often found ourselves feeling a bit hot. It would be great if this aspect could be improved to ensure a more comfortable stay. Nevertheless, spending evenings on the balcony was a delightfully cozy and relaxed experience. The ambiance was inviting and lent itself to unwinding after a day of exploration. The surrounding garden and environment added to the overall charm, and we truly appreciated the pleasant surroundings. I highly recommend visiting this place for a minimum stay of 2 to 3 days. Anything less would make the trip feel rushed, as there is so much to explore and enjoy. Despite the minor quirks, our overall experience was enjoyable and memorable. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have stayed here and would gladly return for another visit.

The apartment we had was spacious and very clean. We had a bedroom,living area and kitchen. The kitchen had 4 burners, no oven, a microwave, kettle , toaster and coffee maker. We also had a huge balcony overlooking the pool. The pool was huge and there were lots of sunbeds. The hotel had lots of comfortable seating in the bar area as well as near reception. The cleaners came every day and did a good job. The staff were friendly and answered all our questions. The hotel is down a side street which meant you had about a 5 minute walk to get to shops and restaurants. There was a supermarket close by. It was 2 stories and had everything, Ubers were easy to get. We mostly ate in our apartment but went out to eat occasionally. The stop for the HoHo bus was close and we took it one day. We went to the marina and the old town.One restaurant we really liked was Casa do Chefe. We really enjoyed our time here.

I had a great holiday. The apartments are not 5 star but I now realise that people like to moan about anything. Yes the apartments are basic but it does say something to that effect in the description. We were a wee walk from reception but that is no reason to moan (I need the exercise anyway). The apartments were very clean and had everything we needed to be self sufficient. The pool area was immaculate and the bar was great for food and drinks and had a great choice. The staff were always friendly but I think that is simply that we were nice to them so they were the same to us. I would definitely go back.

Hotel overall is excellent. My wife and I stayed Self Catering so I can't comment on the breakfast but other guests told me they were very pleased with it. Our room was a spacious one bedroom apartment. It was advertised as having a pool view but it was also a sea view as most at the back of the hotel would probably be. Couldn't really fault the room, although our balcony was right above the outside part of the Riviera Cake shop and snack bar which could be quite noisy at times. The shower was a really good size. Other reviews detail how clean the hotel is. The hotel has a lobby bar which is quiet but pleasant with a little entertainment three nights a week. It has a games room with pool tables, games and the like but also an inside mini golf. Hotel is well situated. About a 20 min walk to the new town (*****) and a 15 min walk to the lovely old town and probably another 10-15 mins on to the marina with a number of restaurant/bars and kiddy entertainments. Two large supermarkets very close by. Tourist train stops just outside. Hotel only takes cash for the food and drink and not cards. A number of the local restaurants also prefer cash. The pool area of the hotel is very nice and had enough sunbeds with umbrellas to go around whilst we were there. The pool snack bar area is very nice with a decent amount of snack food and drink options. Special mention to Shams and Mario who were both very professional and friendly and always happy to take part in a bit of fun banter. We had stayed at this hotel about seven years previous and I'm glad to say we enjoyed just as much on our return.

Lovely week at this hotel. 2 adults and 13 and 12 yrd old. We stayed in the prestige part. Grounds of our hotel beautiful with greenery, large under reception area. We had a seaview room 4th floor. Comfy beds. Sofa bed not so much but fine for the girls. Room cleaned every day. Fresh towels. Lots of storage. Could do with more hangers! Male reception staff friendlier and more helpful than female staff. Access to other 2 hotels and facilities (we stayed years ago at alto do colina) great for families too. Fab pools, bit cold. Girls enjoyed covered pool also. Bought caps at reception for indoor pool as required but discovered other people not wearing them so don't bother. Cafeteria great for us food wise (lasagne, fish, steak amazing) as was cocktails and staff wonderful, warm and funny. Shout out to Binjay and Lyuba who made us feel so welcome. Giovannis good (gorgeous risotto) for food also as was pizza place down the road. We tried a restaurant in other hotel buganvilla, slow service and pizza not great but rest of food good. Pool bars serve good food, omelettes etc. Things to do....boat trip/caves great as was the colourful marina, walk to nearest beach (not good for anyone with mobility issues) Algarve shopping centre fab open til late, tree top walk and zip lining fun, taxi 7 euros to old town/fisherman's beach beautiful and great square for shops and cafes (my fav) tips...always get an Uber. Escalators to beach. Jet 2 pick up so early for flight, we for a later pick up Uber. We had a great family holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel for families 🥰

We have recently returned from a family holiday - our experience of the hotel was ok - but will not be returning Positives Snack bar is lovely good selection of drinks The hotel is clean - however there are a selection of rooms by the poolside which are like beach huts - very small Staff are ok - some are friendly some don’t speak or smile The pool area is spacious and the pool area is lovely Location of the hotel is more towards the ***** than the old town - you can walk into the old town (20mins) The hotel needs modernising - especially the rooms Negatives When I arrived with two young children - the room they offered me was right next to the bar - when we arrived there were 3 parties going on - which was extremely loud - I asked to be moved We arrived at the hotel at 11.30pm and the person on reception I found to be rude as he took a phone call whilst we were checking in - bearing in mind I had 2 children aged 8 and 5 Some of the rooms you can hear the main road - which is extremely noisy especially at the weekend Some rooms lead straight on the street Breakfast is ok - not worth the extra - very limited selection in choices - some morning they had run out of items Also whilst we were there a drunken teenager was on our sun beds that we reserved - we also walked up to Aldi one morning and there was a drunken teenager on the floor outside. Albufeira in my opinion now is catering more towards the younger generation and is becoming a second Ibiza - which is a shame as I came about 10 years ago and it was much more family oriented. There are some lovely restaurants around the old town and The Clay Oven - is amazing however unfortunately i will not be returning to Tropical Sol or Portugal.
