This hotel is ideally located to walk to the central (shopping) and old historic parts of the city. It is also a short walk from the coastal ”rambla”cycle and promenade. Reasonably priced restaurant / bar and breakfast service - comes with 22% discount if you pay with a non-Uruguayan credit card (as do all restaurant in Uruguay). We had nice big room on an upper floor with views over the Rio de la Plata and the sunset (but only top floor rooms have balcony - you can access the rooftop terrace but there is not much there other than the view). Reception very helpful in organizing visits, taxis and bike hire (these are available on site). Only slight criticism was location of air conditioning in large rooms meant we didn't benefit from it in the sleeping area and, during a very hot spell, this was a problem. Would recommend staying here.

I stayed at this lovely hotel a number of times in April and May of this year 2023.This hotel is located in the heart of the Ciutad Vieja,the Old City, in Montevideo.The location is very convenient to the sights,attractions and restaurants of this part of the city.Check-in was handled speedily and the room I was given was clean and inviting.I want to pay tribute to the staff who were always friendly and helpful-Oscar,Francisco and Reuben...The ladies who operated the breakfast buffet were also friendly and welcoming....This is a lovely place to stay and a staff member is always available to assist with booking a taxi....I am happy to recommend this place and gladly give it 10 out of 10.

The hotel is beautiful. As soon as you get inside you are greeted by the receptionists, who are extremely friendly and polite with everyone. As you get in the room, using your card, you can see the bathroom to the left and the TV and beds at the end of the hallway. Next to the bed, there's a small kitchen and a table, just in case you want to cook something there instead of going out. The cleaning crew wasn't very punctual, we never knew at what time they were coming to clean the room and they would always forget to restock the toilet paper or the towels but after a few complaints everything was solved and it never happened again. Apart from that, the rest of our experience staying there was amazing!

I stayed at The Radisson in Montevideo for four nights while visiting a friend. First of all, the fourth night was needed at the last minute and altering the booking online could not have been easier. The hotel was the perfect location to explore the city as it is situated on the Plaza Independencia which is at the bottom of the main high street and at the top of the old town. My room, which was a superior double, had a great cityscape view, was clean and had everything I could need - ironing board, hair dryer, safe. The bed was large and comfortable and housekeeping was great each day. Most importantly for me, the air conditioning was efficient and effective - I even used it to pop in at lunchtime to cool off for an hour during a particularly hot day. I enjoyed breakfast on the top floor of the hotel with a great selection of food and breathtaking views. I had a couple of swims in the full-size pool which was carefully divided for families, adults and serious swimmers. The staff were attentive, obliging and (I am embarrassed to write) had great English to compensate my limited Spanish. The concierge gave me directions and got me taxis when I needed them and the outside security made me feel perfectly safe. All in all a great hotel I would recommend.

This hotel was very disappointing for me and my wife. Looking at the pictures and the previous reviews, I really thought we would stay in a great hotel, but the reality was different. We did the reservation for a standard room, the pictures don't show how small they are. The room that they gave us was on the 2nd floor, and the window was direct to a central air conditioning machine (I suppose it is). It's a big machine, terrible view, but also terrible noise. They turn it off at 6:30pm, and turn it on at 08:30am. If you want to sleep in it is impossible, or if you want to take a nap in the afternoon, impossible too. Besides that there is a door in the room, to the next room, it's obviously closed, but you can hear everything from your neighborhood. The bathroom is ok, towels are good and clean. But when you take a shower the floor gets all wet, even with the box close, it's probably some leak. We stayed for four nights, and in two of then the air conditioning was not working. We called the reception and the answer was that they would have to call a technician, to repair it. They fixed, but in the next day it was broken again. Fortunately the weather was not so cold, and it was possible to leave the window opened, but we we had to deal with the noise coming from outside. We asked to change for a better room as soon as we arrived. But the receptionist said the hotel was full, and that in the next day they would have a free room, in a superior category, but it was necessary to pay the difference to the upgrade. We said that we have the gold benefit from hoteis.com, and this update would be for free for us. As soon as we told about the benefit, they tell us that we need to wait for the next day and see if the room would be still available, but, of course, it wasn't free anymore. Although the location of the hotel is good, we definitely wouldn't like to stay there anymore.

Rooms are styled in cream-coloured shades and soft beige, and are fully carpeted. Some rooms have views of the beach or Montevideo city.Rooms are bright and spacious, and feature cable TV, air conditioning and minibars. All rooms include modern bathrooms and some of them have baths.A buffet breakfast is served daily with fresh juices and regional jams. The bar offers snacks throughout the day and there is room service. Guests can also enjoy breakfast in the room.The 24-hour front desk and tour desk can assist guests with tourist information. Punta Carretas Shopping and the Naval Museum are 1 km away.The major bus stops are 1 block away and Carrasco International Airport is 14 km from the hotel. Car rental is possible.

Hotel com um bom custo-benefício. Está localizado na região central o que facilitou demais os nossos passeios a pé. Lobby do hotel bem aconchegante e bonitinho. É uma edificação antiga e portanto o seu elevador é pequeno e sua porta é bem barulhenta. Nos hospedamos em um quarto triplo no 5º andar e o quarto ficava ”encostado” ao elevador onde nos incomodou o barulho de todas as vezes em que a porta do mesmo se fechava, além de não ter nenhum revestimento acústico e toda e qualquer movimentação nos corredores era totalmente ouvida dentro do quarto. As camas eram bem confortáveis e há canais de TV de todos os países (inclusive Globo Internacional e Record), ar condicionado, cofre e frigobar. O banheiro é pequeno e não há local para pendurar as toalhas principalmente após o banho, ou seja, há a necessidade de troca diária. Possui dispenser com shampoo e shower gel dentro do box - que é de vidro - (de condicionador estava quebrado) e dispenser de sabonete líquido no lavabo. Café da manhã satisfatório, mas nada em especial (senti falta dos ovos mexidos, sinceramente! Só havia ovo cozido!). Wi-fi não funcionava dentro do quarto - não sei se era porque estávamos no 5º andar, mas só conseguíamos conexão na recepção (térreo). Funcionários muito educados e solícitos.

I staid here for one night. Was ok. Could be cleaner. Breakfast was good. Area also is good. For me the rooftop pool was the best thing.
