Is Beijing Safe for a Solo Traveller? Scams, Costs and Five Days Alone in the Capital

Oleh LEO
14 Oktober 2026

Beijing carries a reputation it has not earned. The stories visitors bring home are rarely about crime. They are about tea, and a ¥3,000 bill that lands forty minutes after a stranger walks you into a teahouse near Wangfujing.
Is Beijing safe for a solo traveller?

Yes, and the numbers hold up. Numbeo's index, updated on 8 October 2026, scores Beijing 74.57 for safety against 25.43 for crime. Violent crime sits at 19.71, which it files under very low. The city's public security bureau reports a homicide rate near 0.5 per 100,000 residents, and the US State Department keeps China at Level 2 as of 4 September 2026.
What you notice on the ground is supervision. Police booths stand in every district, and the camera grid is among the densest anywhere. Riding the subway at rush hour is routine. So is walking back to your hotel at 11pm. The score for walking alone after dark is 71.29, inside the high band.
Plan for your wallet, not your body. Violent crime is not what you organise a Beijing trip around.

The scams that actually catch tourists

Every one of them begins the same way. Someone friendly picks you out in a crowded, touristy spot.
Scam | Where it runs | How to shut it down |
|---|---|---|
Tea-house invite | Wangfujing, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square | Decline outright. Bills reach ¥1,000 to ¥5,000 |
Art student gallery | 798 Art District, National Art Museum | Keep walking. Real galleries do not recruit on the pavement |
Black cab (hei che) | PEK and PKX arrivals, station forecourts | Use the official taxi rank or DiDi. A legal Beijing plate starts with 京B |
Fake Great Wall shuttle | Flyers near Qianmen | Book the bus or train yourself, or pre-arrange a car |
Fake monk donation | Outside temples | Ignore them. Genuine monks do not solicit on the street |
The rule that closes all five: never follow a stranger to a second location. The habit that helps most is booking through an app, because DiDi agrees the fare before the car moves.
Is Beijing safe for a solo woman?

Notably so, for structural reasons rather than luck: busy, lit streets late into the night and constant camera coverage. Women jog alone along the Liangma River past midnight.
Two caveats. The tea-house scam leans hardest on solo visitors, because nobody beside you will say no. Book a female-only dorm, and skip unlit side hutongs after dark.
A five-day solo itinerary

Day 1: the central axis
Start at Tiananmen Square, free but needing a real-name, time-slotted reservation one to seven days ahead. The Forbidden City costs ¥60 from April to October and ¥40 from November to March, shuts every Monday, and releases tickets at 8pm Beijing time exactly seven days out. Cross to Jingshan Park for the roofline.
Day 2: temples and museums
Give the morning to the Temple of Heaven on the ¥34 combo ticket, then the National Museum, free but booking-only. Walk Qianmen Street and Dashilar, then finish at Shichahai for the lake at night.
Day 3: Mutianyu, the quieter wall
Pick Mutianyu over Badaling, where crowds are lighter and a cable car does the climbing. Budget about ¥195, covering ¥40 entry, ¥15 shuttle and the ¥140 return cable car. Shuttles leave Dongzhimen. A weekday beats a weekend by a wide margin.
Day 4: gardens and contemporary art
The Summer Palace combo ticket is ¥60 and worth a half day. Give the rest of the day to 798 Art District, which costs nothing to wander through, and the final hour to the Lama Temple.
Day 5: hutongs, or roller coasters
Walk Nanluoguxiang, climb the Bell and Drum Towers, loop back through the lakes. Swap it for Universal Studios Beijing if rides beat history. Dated tickets run ¥418 to ¥748.

Flights from Malaysia, and the airport transfer

Direct Kuala Lumpur flights land at Beijing Daxing (PKX). Malaysia Airlines MH318 leaves at 23:40 and arrives at 06:00, and AirAsia X D7 342 runs 18:50 to 01:05. The hop takes about six hours over 4,351km, and Beijing shares Malaysia's UTC+8 clock.

From PKX, the Daxing Express reaches Caoqiao in 19 minutes for ¥35, and a taxi costs ¥160 to ¥220. From PEK the Airport Express is ¥25. Compare options on the Beijing airport guide, and check dates on Kuala Lumpur to Beijing tickets.

This stay at the Sofitel Jian Guo Men left me with a great overall impression.
Before arriving, I communicated with the duty manager, Eli, letting him know it was our first stay and that it coincided with our anniversary. Upon check-in, he immediately upgraded us to an Executive Floor room and had it specially decorated. The attention to detail was exceptional, and we were incredibly impressed from the moment we arrived.
The first impression upon entering was excellent. The lobby had incredibly high ceilings and a grand, bright decor, completely avoiding the oppressive feeling you sometimes get in older hotels.
The layout of the Executive Room was also quite interesting; it wasn't just a generic square box. The space was well-utilized, making it feel much more spacious than I had imagined.
The service overall was hassle-free. Whether it was dealing with the front desk or requesting room service, any issues were addressed very quickly, with no need for back-and-forth.
In the evening, I specifically went to the bar on the basement level. The bartender, Pamper, was very amiable. She asked about my preferred tastes, and the cocktails she made were perfectly to my liking.
Overall, it's a hotel with excellent value for money and well worth staying at.DariRUB 9,400

I stayed here while applying for my visa, and this hotel is so friendly to US visa applicants. Not only did they help with printing and copying, but they also offered late check-out, luggage storage, and even currency exchange. It was a lifesaver! The front desk staff mentioned that it's a hotel managed by Air China. Since I often fly with them, this overall experience was just fantastic. The room layout and cleanliness were great, but the service and bedding were truly beyond expectations. Highly recommended, and the fresh flowers added a lovely touch of life to the place!DariRUB 5,410

During the October Golden Week holiday, I chose the Dragon Dream Hotel in Shenyang and had a very comfortable stay. The room was bright with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering a great view. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and the room was spacious. The adjacent mall had dining options and a subway station, which was just one stop away from Zhongjie Street. There were free parking spaces available both above ground and in the basement. The front desk staff and the duty manager were always friendly and attentive. They were also helpful and met any reasonable requests. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience!DariRUB 10,330

I booked in advance and requested a higher floor in the notes. When checking in, they actually assigned me a high floor. The location is extremely convenient, with a subway station right across the street, making it easy to get anywhere. For closer distances, shared bikes are readily available. Since it was my first stay, I signed up for a membership and received a 50% discount voucher for breakfast, for which I am very grateful. The breakfast was great with a wide variety of options; the capelin and yellow croaker were delicious. As for the noodle section, I didn't see any noodle soup, which would have been even better if available. All in all, a wonderful experience!DariRUB 8,054

When we arrived at this hotel, I hadn't even realized it was the one I booked until we pulled in front of the lobby. It was so nice I was amazed that it was ours for what we paid. Incredibly stunning interior and exterior. The rooms and service live up to the standard as well. Absolutely perfect stay in the northeast corner of Beijing and I do believe we will come back to stay here next time. The attendants at the front desk were incredibly helpful, especially the one guy who helped me order on dianping and put together a porridge the Beijing way. The gym was the best I've ever seen in a hotel. Stacked with equipment for strength training with a separate room for martial arts training. It was like having a commercial gym as part of your hotel stay for free. Genuinely one of my most pleasant stays in a long time!DariRUB 7,026

The gym service was terrible. The last picture shows the very bad gym staff member who was playing on his phone in the changing room, a place where people are naked and where there are signs prohibiting phone use. When I tried to get his attention, he ignored me. This person also ignored guests at the front desk when checking in and out, not even greeting them. When I returned my wristband, he just kept his head down doing his own thing. It was a lady next to him who, seeing his lack of response, rather awkwardly took the wristband from me. Regular training should resolve this issue. Otherwise, it's a hotel with great value for money. The front desk staff was fantastic, patiently explaining various issues and even upgraded my room. I think the lady's name was Zhang Dandan? I've forgotten. The executive lounge offered a wide variety of food, and the quality was excellent.DariRUB 12,277

My family and I chose Jen Hotel for a quick getaway during the November holiday. This is one of the most value-for-money hotels I've ever stayed in. This time, I booked a room with executive lounge access, which included breakfast, in-room breakfast delivery, and a two-person dinner at Sanwu Tang in the evening.
We had a smooth check-in around 5 PM. The front desk staff asked us which direction we preferred for our room, and we chose one facing the 'Big Trousers' building (CCTV Headquarters). During check-in, the front desk also helped us book a dinner reservation at Sanwu Tang. After dropping off our luggage, we headed straight for dinner.
Sanwu Tang is a buffet restaurant specializing in Beijing cuisine, offering a complete selection of local delicacies like 'baodu' (tripe), 'luzhu' (stewed offal), 'chaogan' (stir-fried liver), 'douzhi' (fermented mung bean juice), 'zhajiangmian' (fried sauce noodles), and roast duck. Of course, they also have international dishes like beef, lamb chops, and salmon sashimi. If you're a first-time visitor to Beijing and don't want to wander around the streets, you can try all these dishes in one place. Wang Yajuan, a server at the restaurant, thoughtfully explained the food stations and brought us the exclusive drinks menu for executive lounge guests, which we greatly appreciated. (Regular paying guests also have drinks, but the variety is much smaller than for executive lounge guests). This drink menu included four types of craft beer and Evian sparkling water, which instantly made the value for money skyrocket. Plus, the restaurant was filled with Beijing cultural elements, making for a very comfortable atmosphere.
The breakfast on the second day was also in the style of Beijing snacks, which I loved, so I won't go into detail.
By the way, the online reviews for Sanwu Tang aren't very high, but I think those low-score reviews are unfair. Because Sanwu Tang's main focus is Beijing flavors, both the style and the food are authentic Beijing local dishes. Objectively speaking, some dishes might not be well-received by non-locals, leading to low scores. But if you like these flavors, trust me, go for it with your eyes closed – you definitely won't be disappointed.
I also want to mention the gym; it's the largest I've seen in any hotel I've stayed at, with the widest variety of equipment. No luxury hotel in China can compare. The staff also maintained the high service standards of a premium hotel.
In summary, this is a hotel with exceptional value for money. It's located in Beijing's Guomao area, and both the service and hardware facilities are outstanding. Highly recommended! 👍DariRUB 12,852

This is my second time staying here.
The biggest advantage is definitely the location.
It's only one subway station away from Beijing Railway Station, and also just one stop from Tiananmen Square.
It is truly so convenient.
Breakfast: There are a few issues. First, the steamed buns are not placed according to the food labels, which causes quite a bit of trouble for vegetarians and guests with halal dietary requirements. Second, the ice cream container was empty.
Third, spicy foods are not clearly labeled with warnings.
Fourth, there are no small spoons provided in the yogurt section.
Room facilities: The lighting is dim, and the setup on the second floor of the suite is too basic—there isn't even a small side table to put things on.
There are fewer seats in the lobby waiting area compared to last time.

🌟 Heartfelt hospitality in the heart of Beijing! Special thanks to Mike Wong and Hanson Wang for an unforgettable stay! Our stay at Peace Hotel Beijing (Forbidden City) left us with the warmest and most unforgettable impressions. The hotel is incredibly well-located right in the center of Beijing, within walking distance of the main attractions, making our sightseeing trips exceptionally convenient and easy.A special highlight was the lounge on the 19th floor where the club dinners are held. Dining with a glass of wine while enjoying the breathtaking, majestic view of the Forbidden City and Jingshan Park is an unparalleled pleasure! The atmosphere there is truly magical. However, the most valuable and outstanding feature of this hotel is how they treat their guests. We experienced not just a high standard of service, but genuine love, warmth, and true, deep hospitality that is so rare to find these days.We arrived at the hotel very early — at 8:00 AM, exhausted from our journey, and were mentally prepared to wait hours for check-in. To our amazement, we were not only greeted with a smile, but were given a room immediately, saving us from tedious waiting!I would like to express my deepest and most sincere gratitude to Mike Wong and Hanson Wang. They took incredible care of our family. Mike personally showed us two excellent rooms to choose from, helping us patiently and politely. The room we fell in love with on the 17th floor was instantly handed over to us.It is because of such dedicated, caring, and professional employees like Mike Wong and Hanson Wang that the brand builds its flawless positive image, making guests want to return over and over again. This five-star hotel truly delivers on luxury, providing an exceptional experience.
The location is a definite highlight – incredibly convenient for getting around. It's just a short walk to Metro Line 1 and Line 5, making transportation effortless. Step out of the hotel and turn left, and you'll find a shopping mall within 50 meters, offering a vast array of shopping and dining options that almost lead to decision paralysis, but certainly satisfy all your retail and food cravings.
The room itself was a wonderful surprise. It was incredibly spacious, bright, and filled with natural light. Fantastic, exceeded my expectations.
First of all, the room looked very new, probably recently renovated. It's close to the airport, but it wasn't noisy at all. As for amenities, there's a gym and several free washing machines. Honestly, compared to a proper five-star hotel, the only differences are the somewhat plain exterior and the lack of a swimming pool; other than that, everything was great.
It's clear the hotel puts a lot of effort into its service. From getting out of the car to entering the room, someone proactively helped with the luggage. This is quite rare for a hotel in this price range—many five-star hotels don't even offer luggage assistance anymore. While I personally don't care much for such services, it was still a pleasant surprise. The staff were all very warm and polite, and they also have a large fleet of airport shuttle vans.

The shuttle service uses Voyah commercial vans, which are super comfortable! The staff helped with our luggage, which was very thoughtful and attentive. It's about 10 kilometers from Badaling Great Wall, and Shuiguan Great Wall is nearby and not crowded. Juyongguan Great Wall is also conveniently located on the way to Beijing South Station, so we stopped by, making our trip even more rich and fulfilling.DariRUB 11,567

At breakfast, the cups still had leftover dirt and weren't washed clean, and many plates were put out for guests to use while still wet. Plus, the dining area was freezing.
As for the dinner buffet, the crab was served in a very ”stingy” way. I'd suggest either setting a quota of one crab per person at the table, or simply taking it off the menu altogether. Only at most four people could grab some each time, while the rest of the guests couldn't even catch a glimpse of it. On top of that, it was only replenished almost once an hour.
On the bright side, the hotel staff remained very warm and enthusiastic, despite being extremely busy during the Golden Week holiday.DariRUB 12,411

Pros:
1. The hotel is nestled halfway up the mountain, offering fresh air and truly beautiful surroundings. It's a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, and the hotel's decor and maintenance are quite good. Our butler, Bella, was incredibly meticulous and thoughtful, taking care of every little detail. She met all our needs, making our stay exceptionally comfortable.
2. There's a wide array of facilities and activities, including a mountainside hot spring, indoor pool, Hatha yoga, singing bowl therapy, a gym, and a kids' club. It's perfect for families, and the kids' club is large and newly renovated – it just reopened in May. It's definitely more fun than the kids' clubs at other hotels I've visited. Plus, children aged 4 and up can be supervised for free, which made my little one super happy!
3. The room key card came with a park map, showing hiking trails. There's an easy 5-kilometer mountain boardwalk, perfect for families, where you can visit the Eight Planets viewing platforms.
4. The breakfast was impressive! They had steaks, lamb chops, and a rich variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. However, the cured meats were generally a bit too salty.
Cons:
1. For a 5-star hotel, there was no safe in the room.
2. While there's an abundance of kids' activities, most of them come with a fee.
3. Since the kids' club was newly renovated, the smell was quite strong, making my eyes and throat uncomfortable.
Overall, we were still very satisfied. I imagine it would be even more atmospheric to visit in winter for the hot springs, though I expect it would be extremely crowded.DariRUB 16,720

Overall, the experience was great! The staff were all very enthusiastic and the hygiene was excellent. There were plenty of bath towels and slippers. Today, before checking out, the crowd was significantly smaller, and my baby had a fantastic time in the children's pool.
There are a few areas I think could be improved:
* The breakfast could be a bit more varied.
* The cakes and desserts at LongRitz for dinner were a bit underwhelming. They tasted like they'd been defrosted for a long time, were very watery, and lacked flavor.
* It would be great if the children's pool could be expanded a bit. With the current facilities, a two-year-old gets bored after about an hour.
Overall, I would still come back if I have the chance. The Ctrip price was very reasonable.DariRUB 6,206

Formerly the Xinhualua, this property has now been acquired by Howard Johnson under the Wyndham umbrella, and the service quality has seen a dramatic improvement. As someone who loves visiting hot springs around Beijing, I’ve discovered another hidden gem. The European-style architecture comes with high maintenance costs, but it is so much better kept compared to the Tianjin Evergrande Hotel Hot Spring that I used to frequent (which has since fallen into disrepair). The hotel offers great value for money, the buffet is worth the price, and the staff training is top-notch. I have to say, international hotel groups are just in a different league when it comes to personnel training! The only minor drawback is that the lighting in the hotel corridors is a bit too dim, making the already massive hallways feel somewhat unwelcoming.DariRUB 7,173

The room is very spacious, and the bathroom area is quite large, perfect for a family. There's plenty of room for dining and playing together. The height of the chairs and tables is a bit mismatched; you sink in quite a bit when you sit down. The bunk beds were a hit with the kids. Plus, there's a private indoor hot spring in the room, which is free and quite nice. The hotel breakfast is pretty average, with the variety and taste on par with a 3-star hotel in the city center. The hot spring is connected to the hotel, and you can re-enter until noon the next day by registering your room number. However, you do need to exchange your entry wristband.DariRUB 5,092

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency World Garden with our child during the Mid-Autumn Festival, and I expected it to be chaotic with so many people, but the experience far exceeded my expectations! The front desk handled check-in efficiently, and even during peak hours, the staff calmly directed guests, maintaining order amidst the crowd – making us feel at ease the moment we walked in. The swimming pool wasn't even crowded during the holiday, and they have a shallow pool for toddlers, which was great. It's also very close to Qibabu Paradise, just a short walk away. The overall service was warm and considerate, lively yet orderly, making it very family-friendly for those with young children. The hotel's design and materials are from the 1990s, but it still feels very luxurious. The service across all departments was exceptional. This time, I traveled to Beijing with my 80-year-old parents. Given their advanced age—and the fact that my mother has limited mobility and uses a wheelchair—the Executive Suite was ideal. It’s quite spacious, making it easy for the wheelchair to maneuver. We requested a plastic shower chair in advance for my mother, and it was provided as requested. The room is equipped with a washing machine, microwave, refrigerator, and other amenities. When traveling with elderly family members, having these facilities is incredibly convenient; clothes can be washed immediately if they get soiled. The hotel is expansive, and navigating the hallways and elevators with a wheelchair was no problem at all. Breakfast is available at either the 2nd-floor or 17th-floor restaurant. The reception at the 2nd-floor restaurant wasn't very welcoming; without really checking, they simply told us there were no tables available before we were even seated. It was the same story the next day, but when we walked in to check ourselves, there were actually empty tables. While the 2nd-floor restaurant offers a wider variety of food, the service falls short compared to the 17th floor. Seeing the Sous Chef, Jerry Wang, greet us with a big, bright smile and a cheery 'Good Morning 😄' just makes you want to smile right back at them 😆.
The room was very clean. The housekeeping staff timed the daily room cleaning to match our outings. Whenever we needed extra supplies, calling guest services resulted in a prompt delivery.
As a suggestion for improvement, the entrance/exit leading to the B2 level of Beijing Oriental Plaza could really use a wheelchair ramp, or at least handrails on both sides of the stairs. That entrance leads directly to Wangfujing Street, which is extremely convenient, but unfortunately inaccessible for wheelchair users.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay experience 👍🏻DariRUB 17,625

As an established five-star hotel, overall it is still very satisfying. Although it has been around for a while, the facilities are well-maintained. The room was very quiet and completely free of any noise disturbance at night, which was very important to me. The bed was also very comfortable, and I slept well both nights. When we went out the next day and returned, we found that our luggage had been neatly placed on luggage racks, which felt very considerate. For the children's books left on the desk, they even gave us nice bookmarks. Although these are small gestures, they left a deep impression on us. I also think the hotel's location is great; the Liangma River is right behind it, making it very pleasant for a stroll nearby. I had an early morning flight the next day and Daxing Airport is really far away, so I booked a room for one night, and it actually exceeded my expectations.
The hotel is located right inside the terminal (on the east side near the airport shuttle bus), just a 7-8 minute walk away.
Check-in was super smooth, but a quick heads-up for those booking via Ctrip: make sure to check if the room rate specifies a check-in time restriction, as some require you to check in after 22:00. A guy next to me got caught out by this when checking in and had to cancel and rebook on the spot.
Although it's a single room, it didn't feel cramped at all. I was traveling light this time without a suitcase, but there's definitely more than enough spare space in the room to open up a large luggage.
The bed wasn't narrow and was quite comfortable to sleep in. All the essential amenities were provided. The only downside is that the bathroom isn't strictly separated into dry and wet zones—the shower area and toilet are just separated by a curtain. There is actually enough space there for a glass partition, so it was probably a cost-saving measure.
The hotel also comes with various facilities, including even a simple gym. They also give out complimentary midnight snack vouchers, which is very thoughtful if you arrive late.DariRUB 3,831

Before I arrived, I just thought, 'It's an old hotel, oh well, it's hard to find a room during the National Day holiday anyway.' But once I got there, I realized an old-school hotel is an old-school hotel; you can't compare it to a chain. The doorman at the entrance proactively helped me with my luggage, carrying it in and out, which made a great first impression. I really couldn't lift it myself, and traveling alone with a child, having someone help was a huge relief. The cleaning lady was also lovely, always greeting me whenever I passed by, very friendly. I stayed for 7 nights in a deluxe twin room. The room felt a bit old, but the service was good. They require a deposit upon check-in, which is settled upon check-out.
The bathroom has a bathtub, and the toilet and shower are separate, but the overall space is still a bit small. The window offers a standard city view.
I added breakfast at the executive lounge for one day. The services offered include breakfast for that day, cocktails in the evening (I think?), and afternoon tea the day before. We only had breakfast; we didn't have time for the others. The breakfast was just okay.
The location is excellent. Right next door is Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, with plenty of Peking duck and hot pot options. Location: The hotel is in Chaoyang District, and since most of the places I wanted to visit in Beijing this time were nearby, it was quite convenient to get around.
Room Facilities: Although the hotel has been around for many years, it's an artistic hotel, and the more time passes, the more character it develops. Just like the artwork on the front desk's background wall says, 'The Rose of Time,' it made me think of Bei Dao's poem: 'When the brush draws the horizon, you are awakened by the gong of the East, and blooming in the echo is the rose of time…'
Breakfast: Breakfast is served on the first floor at LIQA, a Turkish restaurant. I'm not sure if it's the same team that handles breakfast and regular meal times, but the main courses, desserts, and drinks for breakfast were all excellent 👍.
Parking: To get from the parking lot to the guest rooms, you need to go to the first floor and then transfer to another elevator. There are plenty of parking spaces. Just remember to register your license plate number at the front desk; I paid almost 200 yuan the first day because I forgot.
Service: Absolutely fantastic! We received welcome fruits, desserts, a card, and drinks. There was bottled water everywhere, unopened pens, and a whole toiletry bag of amenities. The disposable hotel slippers were exceptionally comfortable, which is a rare and pleasant surprise. Housekeeping was prompt but never intrusive. They even gave my daughter the room card as a souvenir.

We contacted the hotel a day in advance, and they kindly prepared some dog supplies for us—even though we didn't end up using them, it was such a thoughtful touch. If you're traveling with a pet, make sure to have your dog's license and vaccination records ready in advance, as you'll need to show them at the front desk upon check-in. Two years ago, I stayed here in late autumn and absolutely loved strolling by the lake, as well as hiking the Xishan trail to admire the autumn scenery and overlook the lakeside views from above. Taking advantage of the lull before the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays, and coinciding with my daughter's birthday, we decided to return to Sunrise Kempinski for another stay.
During check-in, Zhang Jiajia at the front desk thoughtfully noticed it was my daughter's birthday. Super attentive and heartwarming, she upgraded our booked city-view room to a lake-view room free of charge, and even arranged it in a prime central location. The panoramic lake and mountain views were breathtaking – a wonderful and unexpected birthday surprise!
That evening, we dined at the Chinese restaurant on the second floor. We ordered steamed sea bass, boiled snowflake beef, stir-fried choy sum, and a vegetable salad. The food was delicious and the portions were so generous we couldn't finish it all. Being advocates of 'no waste,' we packed the leftovers and put them in the fridge. The next day at noon, I somewhat sheepishly asked the restaurant supervisor, ”We had a lot of leftovers last night, and every dish was delicious, it would be such a waste to throw them away. Could I order two new dishes and bother the kitchen to reheat last night's leftovers for us?” To my surprise, the supervisor promptly replied, ”If the leftovers are enough for you, you don't even have to order new dishes.” What was even more heartwarming was that the leftovers were not only reheated thoroughly and served piping hot, but they were also meticulously arranged on various beautifully shaped plates, looking indistinguishable from freshly ordered dishes. I've stayed in many high-end hotels, but I've truly never encountered such kind, thoughtful, and down-to-earth service anywhere else. This National Day holiday, we returned to Beijing, hoping once again to take our time strolling through the city's charming hutongs. After spending the first three days near Wangfujing and exploring most of the nearby alleys, we decided to stay at our all-time favorite hotel brand, The Ritz-Carlton. This time, we chose The Ritz-Carlton Beijing (China Central Place), and it certainly did not disappoint—it truly felt like coming home. This marks the ninth Ritz-Carlton property we've stayed at.
We arrived around 1:00 PM and were warmly greeted at the front desk by Mr. Zheng. Since our room was still being prepared, he immediately invited us to relax and dine in the Executive Lounge. The lounge truly made us feel the warmth of home. The moment we stepped in, Ivy (Ms. Gong) welcomed us with great enthusiasm. Learning that we hadn't had lunch yet, she promptly arranged a meal for us. Upon discovering that someone in our party was celebrating a birthday that day, she had a birthday gift delivered to our room that afternoon, and the chef thoughtfully prepared birthday longevity noodles for dinner, which deeply touched the birthday guest.
The next day, Chef Paul Yi noticed that one of us was suffering from dry, chapped lips due to the arid northern climate. He went out of his way to prepare a soothing balm and personally crafted herbal medicinal soups for two consecutive days to help her recover. We were incredibly moved—this is a level of care we have never experienced at any other hotel. Throughout our 3-day, 2-night stay, not only did Ivy and Chef Paul check in on us daily, but we were also warmly hosted by Coco and Amelia. As a supervisor, Coco is meticulous, detail-oriented, and highly responsible, and the rest of the lounge team provided genuine, hospitable service as well.
We all agreed that we should have booked our stay at The Ritz-Carlton Beijing sooner! A heartfelt thank you to Coco and her entire team for their warm and sincere hospitality. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.DariRUB 15,361

I was a bit worried before booking because of some reviews mentioning old rooms and poor service, but my actual experience was completely different. As soon as we arrived at the entrance with our two suitcases, a staff member guided us in and helped with our luggage. The front desk staff were all very polite, clearly explained everything, and proactively asked if we needed toothbrushes or other amenities. Once in the room, it really didn't feel like a hotel built in '09. The basic facilities were very well-maintained; perhaps the decor was a bit dated, but it didn't affect its usability. Traveling alone with a child, what I dread most is carrying lots of bags while holding a sleeping baby, looking so dishevelled that I don't even have a free hand to wipe my sweat. Yesterday evening, when I arrived at the hotel, Chen Shuo, one of the front desk staff, immediately came out to help me with my luggage without a word. He even lowered his voice and said, “You hold the baby, I'll take care of the luggage.” Then another front desk staff, Xiang Ke, quickly poured me a glass of water and processed my check-in. Chen Shuo helped me take the luggage to my room and settled everything. He softly left with a remark, “The baby is sleeping soundly. Sister, you should get some rest too. Feel free to call the front desk anytime if you need anything, we are always here.” Then he gently closed the door. At that moment, my eyes welled up.
