1. Dali Ancient City (Kota Lama Dali)

Pusat kebudayaan etnik Bai ini beroperasi sepenuhnya tanpa tiket masuk (percuma). Jalan rayanya dipenuhi dengan seni bina tradisional, kafe estetik, dan lambakan kedai kraf tangan tempatan. I always give honest reviews, and I've stayed at many luxury brands before. Indigo is IHG's trendy, modern brand, comparable to W Hotels. The Indigo in Erhai is excellent. You open the window and there's Erhai Lake right there; it feels like you're floating on the lake even when you're in bed. That's an unbeatable feature. The service was fantastic. We happened to arrive at 9 AM with two rooms booked, and the hotel managed to get one of them ready for us right away, which is quite rare. At check-out, because we had a late flight, the hotel kindly extended our check-out time to 4:30 PM. I was truly touched. Since it was summer, breakfast was very busy, and after 9 AM, there was a queue, which is normal. However, upon entering, I saw the supervisor and staff genuinely hustling to speed things up, unlike the lazy attitudes you often encounter at many hotels. Guests can definitely feel that kind of dedication to service. The location is also very convenient, in the Xiaguan urban area, right next to Erhai Park. During peak season in Dali, getting a taxi can be chaotic and slow, so comfortably waiting for a ride on the first floor of the hotel, enjoying the breeze, was a really pleasant experience.

Dali has so many guesthouses, but this one really stands out, from its design to its operational management. The lobby floor is paved with thick, single slabs of stone, giving it a feel that perfectly complements Dali Ancient City. We originally booked a 180-degree view room, but after seeing the 270-degree room during check-in, we decided to upgrade, even though it was a bit pricier. The sea view is absolutely unbeatable. The shower in the room was the best I've ever experienced in any hotel – it was so powerful I actually had to turn it down a bit! Breakfast was exquisite. Plus, staff members were always available to pick us up and drop us off at the parking lot, and they offered shuttle services with their electric vehicles whenever they were available during our stay.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Hilton Dali, my stay this time was absolutely delightful from start to finish! The front desk staff were incredibly gentle and patient, explaining everything in detail and actively helping to coordinate any requests I had. Their service really impressed me. What truly surprised me was the hotel's intangible cultural heritage 'Jia Ma' printing experience, where the staff patiently guided us through the process. I booked a standard room, not an executive one, so it was a pleasant surprise to find out that the executive lounge offers à la carte options – that's a huge plus! The view from the 9th-floor lounge is absolutely stunning. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offer an unobstructed view of the entire Erhai Lake, with Cangshan Mountain, the villages, and the lake all visible. The atmosphere at sunset is just magical. If you visit Dali, you absolutely must make time to sit there for a while, feel the breeze, and take in the mountains and the sea – it's incredibly therapeutic and washes away all fatigue. Overall, both the service and the unique experiences were top-notch. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Dali!

Convenient Location: Right in the ancient city, exploring and dining within the old town was super easy. For getting around, I booked buses to various Dali attractions through 'Anxin Travel Dali'. Room Facilities: I chose a room in Area A, which had a courtyard style – quiet and comfortable. Of course, the facilities aren't on par with a five-star hotel, but the minor flaws didn't detract from the overall experience. The breakfast had both Chinese and Western options, and the coffee was especially fragrant. The restaurant directly faced a large screen continuously playing nature photography of Yunnan's birds and animals, which I really enjoyed. From the terrace, you can watch the sunrise and see the Three Pagodas. Excellent Service: I was very satisfied with the front desk and room service, and I'd particularly like to commend the young lady at the front desk.

Vehicles are not allowed inside the ancient town, so typically, guesthouses will transport guests' luggage from the drop-off point to the accommodation, while guests walk to the guesthouse. However, this hotel arranged for guests to take the ancient town's sightseeing buggy, saving us a long walk. The hotel staff, both the ladies and gentlemen, were incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic. The overwater swing is a real highlight. The lovely lady at the front desk helped my wife get dressed in a beautiful flowing gown, and the gentleman staff member assisted with operating the swing. The hotel breakfast offered a Western buffet, a traditional nine-grid set meal, and à la carte options. The room was not only clean and beautiful but also thoughtfully detailed. Every staff member, even the cleaning ladies, was very warm and polite. We had a comfortable and pleasant day. This is a hotel that excels in its facilities, services, and overall quality. Highly recommended.

We extended our stay for a night and forgot to request housekeeping for the extension, but they messaged us on WeChat to thoughtfully ask how we'd like the room cleaned, whether to change the duvet and bed covers, which was very considerate. The free breakfast is also good. You can get discounted coffee downstairs every day; I recommend the Rose Latte – the rose jam is homemade by the owner and absolutely delicious. The hotel name has 'Sugar' in it, and that's the name of their dog!

Travel photography service: Many homestays have complimentary travel photography service. It is very convenient because I really don’t want to take pictures near the hotel. I chose the value-added service. Xiao Yang took a good photo and brought his kitten. The return rate is super high. Hahaha I feel that I am the cutest ancient princess in the ancient town.

I absolutely love this guesthouse! It's so relaxing. You can even sunbathe in the courtyard downstairs, which is really pleasant. The staff at the front desk, both the handsome guys and beautiful ladies, were very polite. The owner even added me on WeChat and sent over some travel tips, which was a nice personal touch. But what I valued most was the bathroom – it was spotless! The fresh towels were individually wrapped, and the toiletries were neatly arranged; it all looked so inviting. My experience was fantastic! The only minor issue was that it was really windy at night during my stay, and the wind whistling through the gaps between the buildings was a bit eerie. Going when the weather is good would definitely make for an even better experience.

The B&B is located near the Cangshan Gate of Dali Ancient Town, and it's only a few minutes' walk to the ancient town. I didn't expect that I could see the Erhai Lake and the sunrise while lying in bed while staying in the ancient town. At that moment, I felt that everything was so beautiful. The boss enthusiastically introduced me to the delicious food and fun things in the ancient town. In the evening, we could sit around the fire and listen to the boss's stories about his travels, and there were roasted sweet potatoes. If I hadn't booked the plane ticket, I really wanted to stay a few more days. I will come to Dali again, and I will come here again.

The front desk service was attentive and even helped us with a late check-out, which was very thoughtful. Summary: A very satisfying trip. This hotel is located near the Erhai Lake Greenway, offering beautiful scenery and a peaceful environment with fewer tourists. Parking is convenient, about 200 meters away. The greenway is perfect for cycling; you can reach the 'Most Beautiful Kilometer of Erhai' in about ten kilometers. Xizhou Ancient Town is also just a 2-kilometer bike ride away. Due to certain circumstances during our stay, the owner upgraded us to a courtyard room on the first floor of Building B. The room's amenities were excellent, and we even got to see the sunrise in the morning. Finally, the breakfast and afternoon tea, although not extensive in variety, were exquisite. Highly recommended.

Even though traveling during Chinese New Year can be exhausting, as soon as we opened the window in our room at this B&B and saw the unbeatable sunset over the ocean, it was all worth it! The room has a Mediterranean style, and there's a chapel-like rooftop right next to our third-floor room, which is perfect for couples to take photos. We really appreciated the complimentary travel photoshoot and the beautiful, ethereal outfits provided – such great value! The two housekeepers were incredibly attentive; they helped with our luggage, and afternoon tea and breakfast were prepared whenever we requested them. The room was very clean and even came with a washing machine and garment steamer, which was super convenient!

Dali is a gorgeous city with lot's to offer, and I think this is a great location if you want to explore a bit more, not just the ancient city. I loved that in the reception they offer free tea (lose leafs, good quality) and have an entire tea ceremony table with everything you need to enjoy the view from the reception. My room was very clean, and they replaced towels and whatever was needed daily. The reception staff was very sweet. The shower had great water pressure and temperature... 5 stars for sure!

Years ago, when I first visited Dali, I heard the story of Mr. Linden and this old mansion and always dreamed of staying here to experience it firsthand. This time, I finally fulfilled that wish, and I was even lucky enough to meet Mr. Linden in the courtyard! When he learned we were from Nanjing, he happily told us he had studied at the中美文化交流中心 (Sino-American Culture Exchange Center) at Nanjing University in '87 and '88, and had many fond memories of Nanjing. This instantly made us marvel at the wonders of fate – Mr. Linden's timeless encounter with this old mansion, and our own timeless encounter with Mr. Linden and this mansion. So, this isn't just a house or a hotel; it's a spiritual home, a place of shared understanding for Mr. Linden and his guests, our collective beautiful home! The 'Old Mansion Exploration' and 'Market Stroll' activities were excellent, and our guide was wonderful! I regret missing out on the afternoon tea, but the restaurant's dishes were delicious, and the breakfast's Ersi noodles and beef with rice were also fantastic!

I really appreciated that transportation within the scenic area was so convenient, with carts provided to take guests to every location easily. The pool and rooms were both very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The only small improvement I would suggest is more variety in the food options, especially more inclusive choices for Western guests, as the current breakfast is mainly Chinese cuisine. My stay here truly exceeded expectations. The hotel environment is quiet, elegant, clean, and cozy. All the facilities are quite new, and you can tell everything is meticulously maintained. The staff were so gentle and attentive; whether it was checking in or handling daily requests, they were very patient and made me feel valued. What really touched me was the different dessert delivered to my room every day. During my two-day stay, one day was rice paste and the other was tremella soup—neither was repeated, the sweetness was just right, and they were kept warm in a thermos in the room. It felt incredibly heartwarming. Plus, there were different fruits daily. These little details really show their sincerity; you can feel the hotel genuinely cares about every guest. The room was a pleasant surprise, right next to Erhai Lake. We stayed in a family suite with two bathrooms, newly renovated in a Mediterranean style with a large bathtub. The common area had a large screen with a ball projection for watching movies, and a water swing. The view was stunning. The downside was the lack of parking, so we had to park on the road next to the hotel, which made it difficult to wash or hang clothes, which was a bit inconvenient.

Its location in the ancient city makes it very convenient for getting around. Parking is available, although the attitude of the parking attendant left something to be desired. One evening, I suddenly felt unwell, and the staff were very responsible, helping me call a taxi and even bringing me some needed sweet soup. 3. The pick-up service was also very punctual, and the driver was very kind. 4. **Couples' Afternoon Tea:** The delivery was quick, and enjoying it on the balcony with the view was very comfortable. 5. **Breakfast:** It was nutritious and served for a long time. The delivery lady was very thoughtful, always offering more if needed. As a long-time user of Trip.com, this is my first time leaving a negative review. During the May Day holiday, I stayed in your sea-view room with my 6-year-old child, but a series of continuous service oversights led to an extremely poor experience. I must detail the facts. Firstly, failure to fulfill check-in notification obligations. Upon check-in, the front desk did not proactively inform us of the breakfast floor or serving times, with no written or verbal notice whatsoever. For families with young children, this is the most basic information to convey upon check-in, and its omission directly impacted our next day's itinerary planning. Secondly, a mechanical response after breakfast service ended. Since we returned late from visiting Dali Ancient City with our child the night before, we arrived at the restaurant around 10 AM to find the buffet stations already cleared. The staff at the noodle station directed me to speak with a restaurant attendant, but this young attendant did not ask for specific details. She just went in for a moment and came back to reply, ”There's nothing left.” I saw that the equipment at the noodle station was still running, and there were other guests still dining at the time, so I asked if it would be possible to cook two bowls of noodles – which is entirely feasible operationally and a common flexible approach in similar hotels – but was refused. In the end, I only received two yogurts and two cartons of milk (and that was only after asking if there was really nothing at all). I specifically paid extra for a sea-view room, valuing the convenience and experience of breakfast, but due to not being informed of breakfast times, I had to drive out to find breakfast and parking, turning breakfast into lunch. With my child hungry, as parents, we felt both distressed and helpless. Thirdly, perfunctory handling of check-out feedback. When I explained the situation to the front desk upon departure, they merely responded, ”I'm sorry, we will report it to the manager later.” With guests about to leave, a simple ”we'll report it later” does nothing to remedy or soothe the current bad experience. Throughout the interaction, there were no efforts to calm our emotions or offer proactive solutions, completely failing to demonstrate the service professionalism and complaint handling awareness expected of a five-star hotel. Cross-reference: Previously, when staying at a five-star hotel of a similar caliber in Lijiang, not only did they proactively and clearly inform us of the restaurant location and dining times upon check-in, but breakfast was also served until 11:30 AM. In comparison, your hotel shows a significant gap in information delivery, flexible service, and complaint handling. Choosing a sea-view room already incurs a higher price than standard rooms by several hundred yuan, originally for a more comfortable family experience. However, due to the aforementioned lack of service awareness, not only did we not enjoy the convenience, but our child also went hungry and was upset during the trip. We booked the private manor villa come with private bath pool and private courtyard. However both private pool and courtyard are surprisingly disappointed. The pool was dirty, moldy, there was just left over water inside maybe by the rain, it had a greyish , murky appearance instead of being clean and inviting. One of the main reasons we paid extra to book this room was for the private pool, it’s frustrating and disappointing that it was not in a condition we felt comfortable using. As you can see all cushion was exposed under the rain and when sun comes out it dried it which caused the cushion get mold and stains. Service overall not bad and helpful. The only incident was when during check in, my wife asked one of the receptionist politely if they could help me make a booking as the place need call to book. We do not have China number , line that can call or app to book. The lady that was serving us was hesitant to book for me and initially told us to book online ourselves until my wife highlighted the reason to her again. Public place is well maintained, location is good. Walkable distance to ancient town. Also nearby to few other must visit spots. Overall decent but won’t be coming back.

The room was clean and tidy, and it was very quiet at night, perfect for a good night's sleep (they even had an electric blanket!). The views were also beautiful, and the owner was very welcoming! Breakfast was rice noodles with meat sauce, an egg, and corn, which was delicious (it would have been even better with some pickles though! 😂). What I liked about the hotel: I chose it because it's an American brand hotel, and I figured their operating principles would be more standardized. The location is excellent; you can take bus 8 directly from the high-speed rail station and it drops you right at the entrance. We used public transport to visit several attractions in Xiaguan, which was a relaxed way to travel without the crowds. Getting to Dali Ancient City, climbing Cangshan Mountain, and seeing Erhai Lake by taxi was also very convenient. What I didn't like 👎: The no-smoking signs were scarce and not prominent enough; this needs improvement. For example, the signs were small, the message was unclear, and they were placed in inconspicuous locations. The ashtrays integrated into the trash cans by the elevators are misleading and implicitly suggest that smoking is allowed. Non-smokers always outnumber smokers, so I hope the hotel will enhance its brand quality and strictly enforce smoking control measures. Otherwise, it will continue to be criticized for hypocrisy. Personal tip: When taking a taxi, choosing a female driver can reduce the frequency of exposure to second-hand smoke.

The room is very spacious, and the location is superb, right on Foreigner Street. It's incredibly well-connected, making it easy to get anywhere. Breakfast is also quite good; they can even deliver it to your room, and you can enjoy it as late as 11 AM. The room itself is nice, and the bathroom is exceptionally large – probably bigger than some entire rooms in other guesthouses! I typically love trying out different accommodations, but this place truly impressed me. They also provide a separate washing machine and dryer, which is incredibly convenient. I ended up extending my stay three times, totaling an additional five days. They truly go above and beyond; they even brought me fresh blueberries sometimes! And when I was initially looking for a place, they came to pick me up, which was really helpful. One standout feature is the excellent soundproofing. Many places don't prioritize this, but here, it's outstanding – the sound insulation is truly top-notch. The room is also large and fully equipped with appliances: an iron, washing machine, and refrigerator are all provided. The toilet is smart, and there's a freestanding air conditioner (which is a bonus, as many guesthouses in Dali might not have AC due to the generally pleasant weather). Even though I was staying alone, the room felt quite spacious. It would be perfect for families too; I noticed many families staying here during my extended visit. If I ever wanted coffee, I just had to send the host a quick WeChat message. Highly recommended! The price is fantastic, especially if you extend your stay, as they offer even better rates. It's incredible value for money, particularly with its excellent location within the ancient city. Seriously, you get so much for your money here – it's truly worth it. I usually enjoy hopping between different guesthouses for varied experiences, but after staying here, I felt absolutely no need to look elsewhere. This place is genuinely excellent.

The hotel is very close to the Wheat Field Express. The rooms have a charming Republican-era style. You park your car in the lot, and the staff uses electric bikes to shuttle you and your luggage to the hotel, which is super convenient. I rarely leave reviews, but this place is truly exceptional. Before booking, I was trying to decide which room offered the best view of Erhai Lake. When I arrived, they spontaneously upgraded my room for free! I didn't even expect to be given a choice for the upgrade. It just so happened that a 270-degree sea view room was available after a check-out that day. I casually mentioned I'd love that room, and the butler immediately said yes without hesitation. My luck was truly divine! I stayed here for three days, and all the fatigue from my city job just melted away. It was incredibly relaxing. If you're looking to unwind, enjoy a gentle breeze, and embrace a slower pace like I do, Haidong is absolutely perfect.

The family room we booked was not large, but the layout was reasonable, the decoration was simple but high-end, the bedding was quite comfortable, and the sanitary facilities were also very good. The free breakfast includes Yunnan specialty rice noodles. In particular, I want to mention that the B&B is located by the Erhai Lake. There is an open-air terrace on the second floor, and you can see Cangshan and Erhai Lake at a glance. Order a cup of coffee downstairs, sit on the second floor platform and enjoy the beautiful scenery, blowing in the sea breeze. It's really pleasant. Finally, the beautiful girl and handsome boy who run the B&B are very enthusiastic and will help solve various problems of our out-of-town guests. Next time I go to Dali, I will definitely stay in a B&B.
