However, the staff were all excellent, from the front desk to room service, everyone was very welcoming. Hearing Chinese made me feel right at home!
The room facilities are a bit dated. The toilet in my room was broken, but thankfully still usable... On the bright side, the snacks and drinks were complimentary, which was a nice touch.
The hotel breakfast was good and suited a Chinese palate. I even wondered if it was run by Cantonese people because I saw the Big Rooster Bowl!
For those heading to the island later, you can take the mini-train to the Bay Station, then switch to Bus B for two stops. Hope this helps!DariNZD 316

The breakfast buffet had limited options, and the restaurant itself was small and underwhelming. Staff kept coming over to ask if they could clear our plates, which was quite disruptive and made us uncomfortable while we were eating. This is a return visit on staycation. The hotel location, rooms, and front desk services were all still pretty good. However the pool conditions were awful. I understand that the pools are undergoing refurbishment. Regardless, the hotel should still accord best efforts in maintaining the best guest experience of the Far East hospitality brand and standards. The pool surroundings were unkempt. Almost all good hotels and resorts would dedicate an early morning effort to sweeping fallen leaves and organise the poolside furniture neatly. The towel guy simply waved at me to collect a towel while he remained seated without any greeting or service. Parts of the usable pool were cordoned off in ugly plastic tape, bits of masking tape remained stuck to railings, and worst of all, used clothing items were left hanging in full view. The gym equipment is poorly maintained and unkempt. This is just disgusting and atrocious for a 5 star hotel and embarrassing for a long time Singapore brand.
When I provided feedback and showed photos taken of the terraced pool to the front desk upon check out from The Outpost, the staff acknowledged the issue and replied ”I will inform the VILLAGE Hotel to rectify it.” The guest doesn't need to know which hotel is accountable for maintenance of the shared pool facilities. They are both operated by Far East. The professional response would be for The Outpost to acknowledge the feedback and assure the guest that it would be looked into.

Stayed from the 4th to the 7th. It wasn't very busy, so the hotel was nice and quiet. There was some construction noise during the day, but it stopped by evening. Since we were a family traveling together, we were given connecting rooms, which was perfect for kids. On our last day, the little ones wanted to swim again, and our request for a late checkout until 2 PM was granted. The hotel's location is excellent, close to restaurants and attractions. The rooms are also very refined and beautiful, and the hotel itself is lovely. The free first round of the mini-bar was a nice touch. While the facilities are great, the service falls short. To enter and exit Sentosa Island, you need a QR code, which they won't provide unless you specifically ask for it. On the first night, after dinner, I wanted to relax by the outdoor pool downstairs, but was immediately shooed away. They said the pool is open from 7 AM to 7 PM, and even just sitting there without swimming wasn't allowed. They immediately flipped over all the chair cushions. There's also no rooftop bar where you can relax (if there is one and I don't know about it, that's even more the hotel's fault). The second major issue was insects. The hotel had so many bugs, and I was covered in bites. The public restrooms were full of insects; I got at least four bites every time I used one... and there were bugs all around the pool too... it was so frustrating, and these were large, red, very itchy bites. Third, we were originally booked for a standard room but got upgraded to one overlooking the hotel garden. The room size and facilities were the same. However, every morning at 6:00 AM, there was construction noise. There's a banquet hall or similar room undergoing renovations downstairs, with drilling noises even at 10:00 PM. Then, at 7:00 AM, people start tending to the garden, with the sound of leaf blowers and cleaning. So, I keep wondering if it would have been better if we hadn't been upgraded? Wouldn't looking out at the cable car have been more beautiful? This is the only time I've ever been upgraded and wasn't happy about it. The soundproofing between the hotel rooms is quite good, though. On the last night, there were many people and children in the room next door, but I couldn't hear them once the door was closed. Also, the hotel refunded the deposit quite quickly. That's about it.Family friendly

I was impressed from start to finish with my Siloso Beach Resort experience. I arrived at Vivo City Harbourfront Station by train, suitcase in hand and was directed to the Sentosa Monorail on the top floor. There is a kiosk where I received my complimentary rail pass to Beach Ststion (last stop). Behind the train station is a free shuttle service which dropped me directly outside the Resort. Up to level 8 to complete my check-in which was conducted smoothly by the friendly desk team. They provided clear instructions for the ongoing use of monorail on the island and the free shuttle services around the island attractions. I received a cool upgrade and proceeded to my room which was clean and then refreshed each day. The location opposite the beach and a 7 minute walk to the train station which is surrounded by food outlets and stores to cater for your convenience. The team at Siloso Beach Resort enjoy their work and were always eager to assist with any enquiries, provision of umbrella or any guidance with onsite matters. The pool was fabulous with waterfall and slide for kids of all sizes. The place was quiet and well presented. I will be visiting again in the future.DariNZD 207

This hotel is too old. The 'sea view' from our room (especially the Deluxe Sea View King Room, beware!) was not a direct sea view; we were assigned a room far off to the side. The cleaning was very superficial; there were still stains on the table, and the toilet paper had mysterious water stains, making it unusable.
To my surprise, they don't offer breakfast boxes, so you're confined to the restaurant. This is far below the standard for a star-rated resort hotel.
The pool slide is only for kids under 1.5 meters, and the pool itself is very shallow. The 'sea view' from the pool is just cargo ships. Getting around requires taking a shuttle bus; otherwise, reaching the cable car or the Express monorail is quite an effort.
Frankly, Sentosa resorts are quite uninteresting. It's better to stay at a hotel closer to Universal Studios or Adventure Cove Waterpark. This place is incredibly run-down and absolutely not recommended. I think I'll be avoiding the Shangri-La brand in the future.DariNZD 468

This is a very high class hotel, beautiful green and luxurious, very relaxing and amazing stay, we thoroughly enjoy the time and environment, the bed and pillows are nice and comfortable, the room is huge and clean, views are beautiful, full amenities provided, lots of facilities for us to enjoy, the spa and pools are superb, the foods are fantastic and lots of variety to choose, the staff service is exemplary and attention to detail. Booked this as their suite was going for an affordable price and we needed a separate space for our 10 month old. Requested ahead of time for a cot and got it. Check in was smooth and service was excellent. Location was just beside train station hence very convenient. Room itself can be improved. There were many areas of wear and tear. The bifold doors leading to the bed area cannot be closed. There were also some dusty areas example above headboard and bed side table. The double sinks were also of poor design as water tends to drip to the sink counter. We probably did not get a well maintained room but would prefer to try other hotels in future.DariNZD 310

I had a short one night staycation there. Service was great, except check in took quite some time. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet which has quite a good spread, including live stations. The location is a bit far in, which is nearer to nature and quietness. The shuttle buses provided the convenience to get to other places. That said, some amenities are dated. For example, the bathtub could do with a handle so that it’s safer and easier for individuals to get in and out. The door to the bathroom is somewhat faulty. Amazing stay as always. This time we booked garden family king room and it has a balcony where kids can play outside and just few steps away from the kids club and spa. Room is spacious for us family of 4 and has two beds. We would like to highlight on the lifeguards at the pool, we know its their job to look after guests for safety but many times we have encounter they are being unfriendly and harsh towards guests especially to younger kids, one of many encounter - lifeguard do not need to shout at a young child when you are standing in front of them face to face, disgusting behaviour.DariNZD 468

Booked this hotel just for 1 night stay, it was ok - clean, comfortable. They had filtered drinking water in the room, and the shower and WC toilet are in separate cubicles. Has powered curtains so you can easily open or close with a press of a button. Room is a bit small but it’s acceptable. If you’re driving (eg from Malaysia) they have ample parking at the basement, clean and brightly lit. Enter by tapping your Autopass/Nets card and before you want to drive out ask the counter for the complimentary car park they will provide you with a barcode pass just scan that when exiting (don’t need to tap your auto pass).
