The first thing that surprised me when I visited? It's HUGE! In fact, Zoo Melaka is the second-largest zoo in Malaysia, covering around 54 acres. I honestly didn't expect it to be so big. You could easily spend 3 to 4 hours exploring and still feel like there's more to see. If you're visiting with kids, I'd recommend setting aside at least half a day so you can explore at a more relaxed pace without rushing. When the crocodiles swim above you, you can actually see them from below! The first time I saw it, I honestly found it quite impressive. It’s definitely one of the more unique experiences you won’t want to miss at Zoo Melaka. 🔥

When you visit Zoo Melaka, the elephants are definitely one of the main highlights! 🐘 There are two elephant shows daily:

Before the show begins, you can purchase sugarcane for around RM5 per portion (approximately 5 stalks) and enjoy a fun feeding experience with the elephants. The elephants are very friendly and visitors can get a closer look, feed them, and even take photos as a memorable souvenir. 📸

After the elephant show, don’t leave just yet! Head over to the Elephant Aquatic Pavilion, which usually starts around 11:10 AM. Here, you can watch elephants swimming and playing in the water! 🐘💦

If I had to choose one of the most unforgettable experiences at Zoo Melaka, Monkey Island would definitely be on my list. 🐒 Just a small heads-up! Monkey Island is located further away from the main zoo area, and you’ll need to take a boat ride to reach it. The monkeys here are also extremely playful and energetic 😂. They are not shy at all, sometimes they may jump onto your shoulders or get very close when you arrive!

It’s definitely a unique experience, but remember to follow the staff’s instructions and keep your belongings secure!

🚙 Buggy Tour (Recommended for Families / Elderly Visitors)

Since Zoo Melaka is quite large, walking around the entire zoo can be tiring, especially for young children or elderly family members. That’s why I highly recommend trying the Buggy Tour if you want a more comfortable way to explore. 🚙

The buggy ride costs around RM100 per buggy and brings visitors to several key areas around the zoo. Along the way, you can hop off to take photos, feed animals, and learn more about them from the driver’s explanations. Trust me, with a zoo this big, having a buggy ride can really save your energy and make the whole experience much more enjoyable! 😊

Our second stop in Malaysia was The Majestic Malacca, and I was absolutely captivated by its vintage charm. The decor in the lobby, courtyard, and even the rooms was incredibly photogenic. It's a historic building itself, and the overall design, furnishings, and soft decor perfectly matched my aesthetic – I was so pleased! The hotel service was excellent, embodying the attentive spirit of British butler service. The staff were also very warm and welcoming, and the breakfast was of exceptionally high quality. All in all, I absolutely loved this hotel. The only minor drawback was the soundproofing, which isn't ideal and might bother light sleepers. However, compared to the beauty of the property and the outstanding service, it's a minor detail I can easily overlook.

This was our fifth stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, this time was very disappointing. 1. Check-in The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I had requested a Queen Bed room instead of Twin Beds. However, I was informed that because my booking was made at the last minute (one day before check-in), only a Twin Bed room was available as all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. We accepted the explanation and proceeded with the room provided. 2. Room Condition Upon entering the room, the first issue we noticed was the air conditioning. Despite setting the fan speed to high, the room remained warm and the air conditioner was not cooling properly. 3. Bathroom There appeared to be a blockage beneath the sink, as water was pooling around the sink and toilet area. In addition, the shower holder was broken while we were using the shower. We chose not to complain and continued our stay. 4. Room Door & Bathroom Door The bathroom door could not be closed properly unless it was pulled and pushed firmly. The more serious issue occurred the next morning after breakfast when our room door became stuck and could not be opened. We contacted maintenance, and the team arrived to inspect the problem. From approximately 8:00 AM onwards, we were unable to access our room. Around 8:30 AM, the maintenance team requested approval from the Front Office to move us to another room because the repair would require additional time. However, they informed that changing rooms would incur an additional charge because we were checking out on the same day. I strongly disagree with this decision. From 8:30 AM until our checkout time at 12:00/12:30 PM, we were still paying guests of the hotel. The room issue was caused by a defect on the hotel’s side, and guests should not be charged extra to move rooms due to problems beyond their control. The Most Disappointing Part During check-in, we were informed that no Queen Bed Deluxe Rooms were available. However, while the maintenance team was accessing our room through the connecting room next door, we discovered that the adjacent room was vacant and equipped with a Queen Bed. If the actual reason was that the room was unavailable due to maintenance, it would have been more professional and honest to explain that from the beginning rather than simply saying all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. This experience has left us very disappointed. Every time we visit Melaka, this hotel has always been our preferred choice. However, after this stay, we have decided not to return. I appreciate the hospitality shown by the staff during check-in, but I sincerely hope the hotel will improve both its facilities and service standards. Thank you.

a great budget hotel find for anyone looking for a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. the room was really cozy. got upgraded for a bigger room for f.o.c and it came fully equipped with a tv, iron and kettle nor mineral water. as a muslim travelers, they also provide a clear qibla direction sticker. the aircond was superb too, really cold and perfect for a good night's sleep. the bathroom was the best part, it was clean and the water pressure was really strong which makes showering so refreshing plus most importantly, it has a bidet hose, which is a huge plus. the elevators are okay so no long waits. the staff are very friendly and welcoming also theres plenty of parking space, not to worry about finding a spot for parking. hotel location very strategic & located in the middle a city & convenience store for restaurants, i have to walk a little bit, but it’s a manageable distance. one minor downside, the room soundproofing isnt the best, i can occasionally hear noise from the hallway or outside the room. if youre a light sleeper, you might want to take note of that. overall i highly recommended for those who want comfort on a budget

The hotel is located by the river with excellent views. Room 604 directly overlooks the Malacca River. I was very lucky to catch three big firework shows directly from the hotel during the Qingming Festival. However, the room's color scheme is quite oppressive, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who are sensitive. There's a secret door in the room; I asked the front desk and they said it can only be opened from the other side if mine is open. From the outside, it looks like it's for pipe repairs or something.

I had a very pleasant stay at Baba House Melaka and was genuinely impressed by the overall experience. I stayed on the ground floor and was pleasantly surprised that there was very little noise disturbance throughout my stay. The air-conditioning was excellent, which was especially appreciated in the hot weather, and the shower experience was fantastic — strong water pressure and very comfortable. The breakfast selection was enjoyable, and the location made it very convenient to call a Grab whenever needed. There were only two minor issues during my stay. I noticed a small area in the corner of the room that appeared to have some leftover sauce residue, possibly from a previous guest, and the bathroom sink drainage was slightly clogged. However, these were relatively minor compared to the overall positive experience. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, and I would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Melaka. Thank you to the team for the hospitality!

Stayed at 1825 Gallery Hotel during my Malacca trip and honestly it’s a really nice place to stay ✨ The location is super convenient with lots of good food nearby within walking distance. Morning breakfast can head to Ban Kheng, then grab coffee at The Curious Baker ☕ their coffee was really good. At night, we chilled with dinner and drinks at Tipsy Brew 🍻 Everything was nearby, making the whole stay relaxing and easy. Perfect spot for a short getaway in Malacca 🌿

This is our go-to hotel every time we visit Malacca. It's affordable, the location is great, and there's plenty of parking. The only downside is the poor soundproofing; I hope they improve that. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next trip.

Good hotel with decent cleanliness & breakfast included in the room package. Would recommend should you need a short stay. Room & toilet : spacious with a king bed & 4 pillow provided. Iron & iron board provided in a room with spacious space for big luggage / working space. Toilet have no shower screen, old painting started to peel off. Towel provided. No designated parking for hotel but Majlis parking available in front of the hotel (payable via apps on day time). Breakfast : great selection of breakfast - Nasi Lemak, Kurt Teow Goreng, Wedges, Fried sausages, coffee tea, cereal, bread, salad station, fruits, soup/mee station. Only downside no egg station Other downside is you have to pay for RM10 should you need extra pillow Location wise is great - 5 minutes walk to local tourist attractions like A Famosa etc. lots of Adam Pedas shop selection within the hotel location as well. 10-15 mins walk to Mahkota Parade, local mall.

The TV in my room wasn't working. In the morning, before I left, I saw the housekeepers cleaning other rooms and I even put out the 'make up room' sign. I was really surprised to find my room hadn't been cleaned when I came back in the evening 😞. Although check-out is at 11 am, the receptionist was very kind and extended it by an hour for me 🙏😊!

Hi, we taught had booked a hotel room at Grandeur Hotel & Spa but end up with a shoplot rooms wt a different budget hotel under same management so called ”Avaria Hotel”. Its just a queen size bedroom provided not as booked room earlier, don't have lift only staircase to 2nd flr so get ready to carry your heavy luggage & pls purchase mineral botol since u have to walk downstairs to refill fr waterfilters provided, bedsheets looks quite old but ok clean... Just nice for a night stay, bathroom is ok wt hot shower filter, nearest food restaurants & a strategic place to city centre

Booked the suite and room was really big. Came with 2 queen beds and had a separate work area big enough for meals and activities 😅 Room was clean and look well maintained. No stains or whatsoever. Very pleasant stay. The hotel staff were helpful and prompt in service. We asked to clean up the room and left for breakfast immediately after. When we returned the room was all made up, neat and tidy. Breakfast was decent. Do note though, that the take-your-own-food buffet style became semi ala carte buffet because there were not enough guests while I was there. Still, it was good enough. Kids wanted to swim but the pool was a little too tiny for our liking. We did activities outside of the hotel though so not much of an issue. Location wise. If you want something right next to malls or in the heart of the jonker area, this is probably not your best choice. We take a 10 min walk to the jonker area and it was a comfortable stroll though. Quiet enough but not too near. Overall a good stay and very happy to return.

Excellent hotel with great service and amenities. The room is complete with all the amenities (except tooth brush and toothpaste). Excellent service from the staff. Spacious parking lots with buggy service. Restaurant is serving healthy food. Spa / massage is available with prior reservations. Love this hotel! Definitely will be staying here again for my next visit.😊 A note to the house keeping : Got to put extra effort in cleaning the stain on the toilet seat.

Really great location. Door lock doesn’t work properly so we had to change room after 1 night. This room also smelled v strongly of Dettol so we requested for a salt lamp to purge the smell which they provided promptly. When we changed room. The pillows were v smelly. It’s really quite a dread to have sweat smell of others left behind. However the Change was quick. So the service is definitely prompt. Certainly Hope housekeeping can be more alert. The silicon around the wash basin needs to change. Looks like it is time to run a new coat. TheShower head was visually clean though. That’s a good note.

I booked this hotel expecting a room with a 'City View' as stated in the room type description, so I had certain expectations for my stay. However, upon check-in, I found that the room assigned to me had no windows at all, which clearly contradicted the room type and amenities described on the booking page. For travelers who value natural light and ventilation, this was quite a letdown. The hotel's location and basic facilities were acceptable, but I believe that room type information should accurately reflect the actual situation to avoid misleading guests. I suggest the hotel and platform update the correct room details and clearly state whether a room has windows on the booking page. I hope future guests will be aware of this point.

This is a charming boutique hotel, exuding a strong Malaccan Nanyang (Southeast Asian) style. The room decor is a delightful blend of European and Nanyang influences, with high-quality materials used throughout. The lobby and public areas feature beautiful and impressive marble, and even the bathroom fixtures in the rooms are top-notch. There's an elevator, which is a great plus, as many smaller hotels often prioritize aesthetics over convenience. The room isn't huge, but it has a balcony – though I didn't use it due to the heat. The air conditioning was excellent, and the shower water pressure was great. The towels weren't brand new, but I always bring my own anyway. The toiletries are L'Occitane, which is a nice touch. Breakfast is semi-buffet style; it has everything you need, and while not super extensive, it's quite good. Each room gets two complimentary coffees to take away daily. There was a male staff member, I think named NASIK, who was incredibly friendly and happy to chat with guests. He was very helpful with luggage and looked quite Chinese, leaving a great impression. Overall, this hotel is excellent. While not directly on the river, the location is still very convenient for exploring and experiencing the local culture. My only gripe is with Trip.com – I don't understand why the price was so high when I booked. I didn't keep an eye on it, and when I checked in, I realized booking on the same day would have been much cheaper. That's likely a platform issue, not the hotel's.

Overall, this hotel is clean and comfortable. Here's what I liked: - The room had carpet, but it was clean and odor-free. - I really liked that the room had plenty of lighting! Usually, most hotels have very dim lighting in the rooms. - Regarding soundproofing, even though it's by the roadside, I couldn't hear any car or motorcycle noise at all! However, you can hear the vacuum cleaner when housekeeping is cleaning. - Parking was easy to find. - The shower pressure was great. - The air conditioning was cold enough. I'll definitely be staying here again next time! ✌

Exceed my expectations!. This was my first stay here and overall a very good experience. The location is great close to top attractions and easily walkable. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, making for a restful night. The room ensuite with bathroom that comes with new WC and completes with high pressure rain shower, hot & cold water, shampoo and body washer. The AC in the room is good and a wall fan to circulate the cold air in the room. The hotel is clean and very close to Red Square. The locker is provided with towel, slippers, toothbrush and a bottle of drinking water. The front desk staff were friendly & informative. The hotel is cozy, new and well-maintained with a lift and a clean pool. Even with a 3 star hotel, it feels like a 4 star hotel. The self service simple breakfast offering mini croissant, white bread, jam, butter, local made ”kaya”, cereals & cornflakes with milk, fruits such as orange & papaya and hard boiled egg. Breakfast starts at 8 AM to end at 10AM. Coffee & Tea served with milk creamer & sugar. The common area has a lot of seating to chill and the public areas invite socialization with other guests. The Coffee & Tea served whole day at the common area with Coway filtered water machine that comes with Hot & Cold Water. The hair dryer, an iron and iron board are provided at the common area. The most greatest plus point of this place is its location, you can walk to Jonker Street, Dataran Pahlawan & Mahkota Parada Mall and A Formosa within 5 to 10 mins. The service was impeccable, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The central location made exploring the city convenient. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Malacca and for sure I will come back again.

Arrived late at night and wasn't prepared with cash, as the hotel front desk doesn't accept cards for the deposit and tourism tax. I really appreciate that the staff waived the deposit for me; I quickly went to exchange for Malaysian Ringgit the next morning. The hotel offers bike rentals: a single bike is 30 MYR, and a tandem bike is 50 MYR per day. The prices are affordable, but you can only rent them during your stay.

This hotel is located next to Jonker Street in Melaka. It is within walking distance to the Red House, which is extremely convenient. There is a night market on weekends, making the location perfect for exploring. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive, always ready to assist guests. I also appreciate the simple breakfast provided, which was sufficient for us. There are plenty of restaurants, local stalls, massage shops and eateries nearby. The only slight inconvenience is that the road is closed during the weekend night market, so we have to walk to the entrance of Jonker Street if we want to take a taxi. However, this does not bother us much because Melaka is great for city walking, and overall transportation is still quite convenient. Great location, warm service and highly recommended for family travelers!

SGI has always been my to top option if I were to travel to Malacca. The staff are really helpful when it comes to attending the guest. The moment I stepped into the hotel from the lobby to the hallway, I could smell the lovely fragrance. The room and sheets are spotless. This hotel also provides parking reservation for accessible person as I’m travelling with my dad who needs to use a wheelchair. The family room is very well-equipped with fridge, microwave and kitchenette and comfortable for a family of 4-5 people.

Hotel okay.. room clean.. only got a little bit of soap stain in the bathroom but it's fine with us. Tv not working at first, then the maintenance came and repaired. Given an extra pillow, the front desk answered our call and solved our problem. Then the only unhappy here is the Bangladeshi staff is new and it's hard to communicate in english or malay. Overall, I'm a happy traveller. Thanks.
