The first thing that surprised me when I visited? It's HUGE! In fact, Zoo Melaka is the second-largest zoo in Malaysia, covering around 54 acres. I honestly didn't expect it to be so big. You could easily spend 3 to 4 hours exploring and still feel like there's more to see. If you're visiting with kids, I'd recommend setting aside at least half a day so you can explore at a more relaxed pace without rushing. If you arrive at Zoo Melaka around 10:00 AM, I’d recommend making Crocodile Lagoon your first stop. The coolest part about this attraction is its transparent underwater viewing area. When the crocodiles swim above you, you can actually see them from below! The first time I saw it, I honestly found it quite impressive. It’s definitely one of the more unique experiences you won’t want to miss at Zoo Melaka. 🔥

🐘 Elephant Show

When you visit Zoo Melaka, the elephants are definitely one of the main highlights! 🐘 There are two elephant shows daily:

Before the show begins, you can purchase sugarcane for around RM5 per portion (approximately 5 stalks) and enjoy a fun feeding experience with the elephants. The elephants are very friendly and visitors can get a closer look, feed them, and even take photos as a memorable souvenir. 📸

After the elephant show, don’t leave just yet! Head over to the Elephant Aquatic Pavilion, which usually starts around 11:10 AM. Here, you can watch elephants swimming and playing in the water! 🐘💦

If I had to choose one of the most unforgettable experiences at Zoo Melaka, Monkey Island would definitely be on my list. 🐒 Just a small heads-up! Monkey Island is located further away from the main zoo area, and you’ll need to take a boat ride to reach it. The monkeys here are also extremely playful and energetic 😂. They are not shy at all, sometimes they may jump onto your shoulders or get very close when you arrive!

It’s definitely a unique experience, but remember to follow the staff’s instructions and keep your belongings secure!

🚙 Buggy Tour (Recommended for Families / Elderly Visitors)

Since Zoo Melaka is quite large, walking around the entire zoo can be tiring, especially for young children or elderly family members. That’s why I highly recommend trying the Buggy Tour if you want a more comfortable way to explore. 🚙

The buggy ride costs around RM100 per buggy and brings visitors to several key areas around the zoo. Along the way, you can hop off to take photos, feed animals, and learn more about them from the driver’s explanations. Trust me, with a zoo this big, having a buggy ride can really save your energy and make the whole experience much more enjoyable! 😊

Overall, I really liked this hotel with its strong Nanyang (Southeast Asian) charm. From the exterior to the room decor, everything felt great. It's within walking distance to attractions and close to the TBS bus station, just a fifteen-minute drive away. However, there were a few things I wasn't happy about: 1. I didn't realize beforehand that breakfast here is à la carte and only starts at 7:00 AM. It also takes a while for the food to be prepared. Since we had already booked our bus back to Kuala Lumpur for 9:00 AM, there was no time to eat. It was a shame, and we couldn't get a refund either. The staff kindly packed two boxes of bread for us, but for a breakfast costing several hundred for four people, it wasn't worth it. If you want to enjoy breakfast properly, definitely plan your time carefully. 2. We were three adults and one child, but we were required to book two rooms. Even though the rooms were spacious, we couldn't add an extra bed. 3. The soundproofing in the rooms was very poor. We could clearly hear our neighbors showering and flushing the toilet at night, and it was quite noisy. 4. We were charged 600 RMB for the two rooms upon check-in. I paid with a credit card, but upon check-out, I was told the refund would take 15 business days to be credited back to my account. That's quite annoying.

The hotel is very comfortable, with a swimming pool and a gym. All the in-room facilities worked well. The only downside is the carpeted floor, which can be a bit inconvenient as carpets are prone to getting dirty. Service was good.

There was dust on the room floor and black mold around the bathroom edges. - Elevators are fine during off-peak hours but can be quite slow during busy periods due to the 40-storey building. - Access from the parking area and shopping mall to the room is a bit complicated as guests need to change elevators at the hotel lobby. Direct key card access would be much more convenient and secure. - The mall below the hotel has limited shopping options. Overall: We had an enjoyable stay and would definitely consider coming back. Hopefully, the hotel will improve the cleanliness and accessibility for an even better experience.

Overall, everything was good. However, I was very disappointed because I had specifically requested a room with a Kampung Morten view, but instead I was given a room overlooking the swimming pool, which was not very appealing and was quite noisy due to the children playing. I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights, checking in on a Friday. Given the length of my stay, I find it hard to believe that there wasn’t a room available that matched the request I had made in advance. What disappointed me the most was that I had also requested a simple decoration for our anniversary, but unfortunately, there was no decoration at all. This shows that the hotel was not attentive to the requests made by its guests. Overall, this experience was quite unsatisfactory, and I hope the management will take steps to improve their service and pay closer attention to guests’ requests in the future. Last but not least, I would also like to give special recognition to the housekeeping staff who cleaned my room. His service was exceptional, and I gladly gave him a tip because he worked with genuine care and dedication. He even asked me two or three times if there was anything else he could assist me with, which made me feel truly valued as a guest. Kudos to the housekeeping staff for the excellent service.

Ibis Melaka stands out above most others with clean and working facilities and amenities. I have stayed in a number of hotels there and I can safely say that the hotel will meet the expectation of many people. The reception staffs are efficient. The cleaning staffs are hardworking. I had a restful stay there.

The hotel is located along Jalan Tun Ali, next to The Store and close to several eateries, making it quite convenient if you're looking for food or basic necessities. The room was clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. The air conditioning worked fine, although it took a little time for the room to cool down. The hot shower was okay too, but the water temperature could be a bit inconsistent at times. WiFi is available, although the connection wasn't the most reliable during our stay. The room also comes with a TV, plus complimentary coffee and tea. Drinking water can be refilled from the water dispenser outside the room, and ironing facilities are provided in the common area. One thing families may appreciate is the small playground and colouring corner in the lobby, which gives kids something to do while waiting around. Overall, it's a simple and affordable hotel that's suitable for a short stay in Melaka, especially if you're travelling with family and just need a comfortable place to rest.

Overall, okay for a night stay. Pros : - COMFY BEDS - Nearby shops and food. Cons : - There was a really weird uncomfortable smell in the lift lobby on the 8th floor and in our rooms. - Need to go to the counter to let them know abt going out every time. (Scan touch & go card) - Rooms were rlly dark and dim and looks like nobody stayed here for a long time. - Shower had no doors or shower curtain so have to control when showering to prevent water getting all over the floor. - Slippers have to be requested during check-in and we weren’t inform about it and had to go back down to ask, the staff even stood around waiting for tips.

This hotel is fantastic! I really loved the industrial-style decor. A special shout-out to the hotel restaurant – I arrived quite late and didn't want to bother with a taxi, so I ordered food in, and it was surprisingly delicious! The flavors were authentic, the presentation was excellent, and the price was reasonable. The room itself was clean, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. The air conditioning was really powerful; I actually turned it off at night so I wouldn't catch a cold. It's only about a 3km taxi ride to Jonker Street, which is basically the minimum fare, and ordering a Grab was super quick and convenient. It's a shame I only stayed one night, as Malacca isn't that big and most people just do a day trip. If I ever get the chance, I'd love to stay here again for another night to really soak in the local culture.

The location is great, just behind the busy Jonker Walk, along the stretch of the Baba Nyonya Museum. Plenty of cafes around. Private parking is available too. Hotel is beautiful and service is great. The breakfast buffet was simple but enough varieties (though no meat item) and quite nice. Room is clean. A bit of issue with the tap in our room though: cold water came out of the Hot, and hot water came out from the Cold, so we had to spend some time figuring out the temperature of the water. I wish they provide hand soap in the bathroom too; we had to use the bottle of body wash to wash our hands. To be fair, there were 4 bottles of mini body wash haha.

We had a wonderful stay. Mr. Sean was an excellent host, very responsive and personally assisted us with check‑in and check‑out. He even made time to meet us for feedback, which we really appreciated. The 3‑bedroom unit was clean, spacious, and well maintained despite the last renovation being six years ago. The fittings were in good condition, and the beds provided great support after a long day of driving. The hotel is located by the river with excellent views. Room 604 directly overlooks the Malacca River. I was very lucky to catch three big firework shows directly from the hotel during the Qingming Festival. However, the room's color scheme is quite oppressive, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who are sensitive. There's a secret door in the room; I asked the front desk and they said it can only be opened from the other side if mine is open. From the outside, it looks like it's for pipe repairs or something.

Stayed for 3 days 2 nights in a Deluxe room. The hotel is an eco friendly concept of hotel. The room is not very spacious but it has a balcony. The pool is enough to accommodate less than 20 persons. Breakfast is enough. They don't serve any chicken or beef. The only meat they serve is chicken sausage and chicken salami. Nasi lemak, nasi goreng, noodles, porridge, cornflakes, potato wedges, bread, salads, and fruits of 2 types I'll be picking the hotel next stay but will skip the breakfast. Better to find breakfast outside.

Booked the suite and room was really big. Came with 2 queen beds and had a separate work area big enough for meals and activities 😅 Room was clean and look well maintained. No stains or whatsoever. Very pleasant stay. The hotel staff were helpful and prompt in service. We asked to clean up the room and left for breakfast immediately after. When we returned the room was all made up, neat and tidy. Breakfast was decent. Do note though, that the take-your-own-food buffet style became semi ala carte buffet because there were not enough guests while I was there. Still, it was good enough. Kids wanted to swim but the pool was a little too tiny for our liking. We did activities outside of the hotel though so not much of an issue. Location wise. If you want something right next to malls or in the heart of the jonker area, this is probably not your best choice. We take a 10 min walk to the jonker area and it was a comfortable stroll though. Quiet enough but not too near. Overall a good stay and very happy to return.

Swimming pool- located on the same floor. Taman Kota Laksamana is 2-3km away. You can get fresh produce such as fish balls, fish cakes, noodles, seafood, and cook it in your unit. My humble opinion- guidelines for check-in could have been sent a few hours earlier or 6 hours before check-in. I had difficulty to read the steps indicated in PDF while driving. I received it at 13.47. Also please be responsive to calls. No one pick up the call and reply to our messages sent through WhatsApp .

Really great location. Door lock doesn’t work properly so we had to change room after 1 night. This room also smelled v strongly of Dettol so we requested for a salt lamp to purge the smell which they provided promptly. When we changed room. The pillows were v smelly. It’s really quite a dread to have sweat smell of others left behind. However the Change was quick. So the service is definitely prompt. Certainly Hope housekeeping can be more alert. The silicon around the wash basin needs to change. Looks like it is time to run a new coat. TheShower head was visually clean though. That’s a good note.

There is a night market on weekends, making the location perfect for exploring. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive, always ready to assist guests. I also appreciate the simple breakfast provided, which was sufficient for us. There are plenty of restaurants, local stalls, massage shops and eateries nearby. The only slight inconvenience is that the road is closed during the weekend night market, so we have to walk to the entrance of Jonker Street if we want to take a taxi. However, this does not bother us much because Melaka is great for city walking, and overall transportation is still quite convenient. Great location, warm service and highly recommended for family travelers!
