说真的，我一开始也是抱着一点怀疑在看“海南岛”🤔。网上一直说它是“马尔代夫平替”，但我心里想：真的有这么夸张吗？结果这趟去完，我直接改观了。如果你是想找一个飞不远、预算 OK、又可以真正放松 chill 几天的海岛，海南岛真的蛮可以的。尤其对我们马来西亚人来说，吃的不会不习惯、沟通也完全没压力，整体旅行体验是那种舒服的类型🌟。

而且最让我意外的是，有些海景酒店真的做到那种一开门就是海、楼下就是沙滩的感觉，价钱却没有想象中那么夸张（这点等下我会讲实际花费）。所以如果你最近也在想要不要去海南岛，这篇我就用最真实的体验，跟你讲清楚：到底值不值得去✅。

✈️ 马来西亚人去海南岛方便吗？

老实说，这一 part 我原本最担心，结果实际去了一趟之后，我会讲一句：比我想象中简单很多。

首先是✈️航班，从吉隆坡直飞海南岛（通常是三亚或海口）其实蛮多选择的，飞行时间大概 3 到 4 个小时左右，比你飞去日本、韩国轻松很多。对我们来说，很像飞去泰国或越南那种感觉，完全不会累到怀疑人生 😂

然后是🛂入境这块，现在去海南岛对马来西亚人很友好（很多时候是免签或手续很简单，出发前查一下最新政策就好）。我当时过关也蛮顺的，没有那种很复杂或卡很久的情况，这点真的加分。

再来是🗣️语言，这个完全不用担心。海南岛基本上都是华人，如果你会一点中文，沟通是完全没问题的；就算英文，其实在酒店或旅游区也都 OK。对比去一些完全语言不通的国家，这里真的轻松很多。

这个基本是很多人来海南一定会去的地方。我自己觉得最加分的是海水颜色，真的是那种渐层蓝，天气好的时候很像滤镜开到最大😆
可以玩浮潜、水上活动，也可以不玩项目，就单纯坐在海边看海，其实已经很舒服了。

亚龙湾比较适合“什么都不想做”的那种度假状态。沙滩很长很干净，海边酒店也很多。
我那天基本就是：走去海边 → 坐一下 → 回酒店泳池 → 再回海边，循环一整天。
👉 简单讲就是：来这里不用安排太多，发呆就是重点。

🛕 南山寺｜安静又有文化感的祈福地

如果你一直在海边，其实可以来南山寺换个节奏。这里整体氛围很安静，有很大的观音像，很多人会来祈福或走一走。

这个就比较偏玩乐型了，很适合年轻人或家庭。里面有很多滑水道、水上设施，还有一些比较刺激的项目。

我很推荐大家去到海南岛一定要选海景酒店来住！因为像我那时一进房间最明显的感觉就是：窗外直接看到海 + 有阳台 + 早上阳光打进来真的很舒服。那一刻真的会有在充电的感觉，而且这种感觉不是那种城市酒店可以给到的🥰。

至于区域的话，我推荐住海棠湾或亚龙湾，因为那里很多酒店是直接靠海的，有私人沙滩或无边泳池。晚上坐在泳池边看海风吹，其实真的有马尔代夫的感觉，尤其是天气好的时候🌤️ 不过也要讲实话一点⚠️ 这里不是马尔代夫那种“岛上只有酒店+完全隔绝”的感觉。海南岛还是有城市感的，有车、有商场、有很多人，所以它的感觉更像是：“海岛度假 + 方便生活”混合型😎

但我觉得重点来了💡
它赢的地方是“性价比”。同样海景房，在马尔代夫可能是完全不同价位，但在海南岛，你是有机会用比较合理的价格住到不错的海景酒店。

This is my third time staying at the Yintai Hotel, and I really love it. The location is excellent, right by Dadonghai Beach, and the sea view from the window is stunning. Getting around is super convenient too; taxis to Luhuitou or the First Market night market are just the minimum fare. The hotel's overall green decor gives it a cool and refreshing vibe, and the service is warm and makes you feel right at home. The breakfast is delicious, and the fact that it's served until 12 PM is a really thoughtful touch! This hotel offers exceptional value for money.

The pool also features water play equipment for children, making it very convenient for families to enjoy a splash. The sixth-floor ocean-facing lawn offers superb views. Lush palm trees abound, and the unique giraffe and flamingo sculptures add a charming touch. Relaxing gazebos and beach loungers are scattered throughout. Sitting on the lawn, listening to the sea breeze, and gazing at the ocean truly maximizes the vacation atmosphere. I paid to upgrade to an ocean-view room at the front desk, which was excellent value for money. The room's view was impeccable; the balcony offered a prime vantage point with panoramic views of the beach, ocean, and distant mountains. The room was spotlessly clean and free of any odors, making for a very comfortable stay. The air conditioning was virtually silent and provided stable cooling. The bedding was soft and breathable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The room's decor was thoughtfully arranged, with towels artfully folded into cute little elephants – these small details were truly delightful. The hotel's location is superb, offering immediate access to the beach scenery, perfect for both relaxing photo ops and family fun. The hardware facilities are well-maintained, and the service is meticulous and attentive. It's well-suited for both family trips and vacations with friends. If you're looking for an immersive ocean-view getaway in Sanya, this hotel should be your top choice. I'll definitely be back for my next trip!

Our stay at the Swiss-Belhotel Grand Resort in Yalong Bay was fantastic overall! The hotel's Chinese garden setting is elegant, and the lagoon pool is incredibly photogenic. It's just a few minutes' walk to the beach, and being next to Baigu Valley makes dining and getting around super convenient. We did encounter a couple of minor issues during our stay, but the duty manager and butler were quick to respond, communicated actively, and resolved everything smoothly. Their service attitude was genuinely sincere and attentive. The room was spacious, and the bedding was very comfortable. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. I really appreciate the hotel's proactive approach to guest concerns. Our entire vacation felt very relaxing. It's definitely a top value-for-money option in Yalong Bay, and I'd consider staying here again on my next trip to Sanya!

The hotel's location in Xiaodonghai is great. While it's an older property, the facilities are well-maintained, and the rooms exceeded my expectations. It offers good value for money. During holidays, getting to the city center can be slow due to traffic from Luhuitou. I hope the hotel improves its pool management; it's currently subpar. People were in the pool without swim caps and even wearing shoes, which makes you wonder about the water quality. On the plus side, access to the beach is very convenient and close, perfect for families with children. However, Xiaodonghai has many underwater rocks, making it a bit uncomfortable to swim from the shore. The concierge service was excellent – very friendly and proactive in helping with luggage. Also, the breakfast was delicious with good quality offerings, including fresh juice. Overall, it was a good value stay, and I hope the hotel addresses the areas for improvement.

This hotel really excels in many aspects: convenient transportation, direct beach access, a wide array of facilities, and delicious breakfast. While you might find individual hotels that beat it in one specific area, its overall score makes it a fantastic choice. Our visit coincided with some bad weather, with rain every morning. However, the hotel offered plenty of activities. We enjoyed the gym, took some fun travel photos, and when the rain eased, we'd head to the pool. When the weather cleared up in the afternoon, we'd go for a swim in the sea. In fact, there were so many active options that I even lost a little weight during our stay! Dining at the nearby seafood market in the evenings was also very convenient. The hotel's service was excellent as well. Rose, who I connected with on WeChat, was incredibly helpful throughout our stay, assisting me with various issues. This made for a very comfortable experience.

The Yalong Bay Seaview International Resort Hotel boasts an excellent location, right on the beach. The room amenities and pool environment are generally satisfactory, and it's convenient to get to various attractions by taxi. The biggest drawback is the restaurant. While the staff are friendly, there's a clear gap in overall management, operational procedures, and brand standards compared to chain hotels. The food quality is mediocre, and replenishment and table clearing are slow. The processes aren't standardized, and for the same price point, the dining experience falls significantly short of chain resorts. The rooms, beach, and public areas would get a good score. If you don't plan to dine at the hotel and are just looking for a place to stay overnight, it's a viable option. However, if hotel breakfast and restaurant dining experience are important to you, I'd recommend considering other choices carefully.

The hotel stay was great, breakfast was delicious, and the floor we were assigned was perfect. The room was very clean overall, and the service was particularly excellent. Vivian at the front desk was very enthusiastic and efficient with both check-in (even though we arrived very late) and check-out. There was some renovation happening on a few floors, but it didn't really affect our stay. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel. Our butler, Jeff, was excellent! He called us in advance to upgrade us to a sea-facing room, and he was always super quick to respond on WeChat, answering all our questions promptly. I really loved the hotel's environment. The large lawn is perfect for photos and looks very pleasant. Walking around the hotel, there's always a breeze, making it feel especially cool when you sit down. There are many pools, big and small, as well as a children's water park. My kids loved swimming so much they didn't want to do anything else. The room was very clean and quiet, with no noise. Right opposite the hotel is the beach, and there's an underpass to get there. You can borrow a small bucket to dig in the sand, which is a favorite activity for kids. It's a great place for families with children.

After flying into the airport, we drove to the hotel, which took about 40 minutes. The hotel environment is excellent, and they have shuttle buses to take you to your room. They kindly upgraded our room for free. The breakfast selection was pretty good, and the pool has its own shower room that connects directly to the restroom, which is quite convenient. For those who want to enjoy the beach, just exit the hotel, turn right, walk for about 5 minutes until you see a food street, then turn right onto the small road beside it and walk for another 500 meters or so, and you'll reach the beach. The water at Yalong Bay is as clear and transparent as glass. The area around the hotel is all villas. I highly recommend staying in the Yalong Bay area if you're planning a trip to Sanya!

The hotel is located within the Yalong Bay National 5A Tourist Resort, within walking distance of Yalong Bay Beach. The hotel also offers free scheduled shuttle buses to the beach, which is very convenient. Within 800 meters of the hotel, you'll find the Yalong Bay Yatai Night Market Street and the Baihua Valley Commercial Street, making it easy to browse the night market and commercial area after dinner. It's a peaceful escape that doesn't lack convenience, truly an oasis of calm in the bustling Yalong Bay. Overall, my stay was very enjoyable. The hotel's excellent location, beautiful natural environment, spacious and comfortable villa, and attentive service all left a deep impression on me. The hotel offers great value for money, and I highly recommend it for anyone vacationing in Sanya. I'll definitely choose Shixi Villa Jianguo Resort Hotel first on my next trip to Sanya!

Pros: The hotel boasts an excellent location, very close to the beach and the main commercial street. The environment is pleasant, and the breakfast spread is generous. The public swimming pool is quite large, and there's a wide variety of room types to choose from. Cons: Some rooms are not in the main building, requiring a shuttle service to get around, which isn't very convenient. The ground floor rooms in the main building are actually basement level. While they do come with a pool, it's quite small. These rooms can be very damp, have very limited sunlight, and attract a lot of mosquitoes. The hotel also lacks a self-service laundry facility, so families with young children might want to reconsider these room types.

Last year, I stayed at the Golden Phoenix in Sanya, and I'm back again this year. This time, I booked the Elegant Seaview Room. The 30-degree ocean view, perhaps because it's not directly facing the pool, felt even more comfortable and peaceful. It seems both the service and facilities have been upgraded since my last visit. They now have a food delivery robot that can bring items upstairs, and complimentary welcome fruits. The hotel also has a laundry room with washers and dryers. Breakfast, purchased separately at 58 per person, is very rich with both Chinese and Western options, offering great value for money.

This is my first time writing such an extensive review for a hotel, but it's truly because I was so amazed. The experience was exceptional. The location is incredible – you step right out to that endless ocean. From the floor-to-ceiling windows in the room, the sea and sky blend into one, with waves gently lapping, as if whispering secrets. Every morning, the sunlight glistens on the sea, sparkling golden, a beauty that makes you not want to blink. What moved me even more was the service – from the moment I walked in, every staff member genuinely smiled and took care of every need. I stayed for three days and felt as comfortable and at home as if I were returning to my own house. Next time I visit this coastal city, this will definitely be my first choice for a repeat stay.

It's an older, established hotel here, so while the facilities are a bit dated, the service is still comprehensive. The pool isn't small, but there aren't many trees, so it can get quite sunny. They have daily activities for kids, like crafts and other things. The breakfast offers a good variety, and the operating hours are very long, so you can enjoy some activities before heading down to eat. I originally planned to stay one night but ended up extending my stay.

I booked a full sea-view room through Trip.com, but no butler contacted me before check-in. While not a strict requirement, compared to the numerous five-star and international chain resorts I've stayed at previously, the service experience felt lacking. I arrived at 2:30 PM to check in. The front desk informed me that a room with an excellent location had been specially reserved, but it wasn't yet cleaned. They suggested waiting 45 minutes and offered complimentary drinks, which we accepted and understood at the time. However, we ended up waiting for nearly an hour, only to be told we'd need to wait another half an hour. We were informed that due to high occupancy, a room upgrade wasn't possible. Throughout this, there were only verbal apologies, but no substantial solution was offered. The hotel lobby is open-air, and the weather was hot and humid. We had two children with us and were stuck in the lobby with nowhere to put our luggage, completely disrupting our original plans. By this time, there were only a few scattered guests checking in, so there was no reason for a backlog. After another half hour, I inquired again, and the reply was that cleaning staff had not yet been assigned and they were urgently trying to send more people. The constant changes in waiting times and inconsistent explanations felt like stalling tactics, and I was extremely upset at the time. About 15 minutes later, I filed a complaint with Trip.com, hoping the hotel would offer a sincere apology and resolution. After the platform intervened and we finally received our room key, the hotel's compensation was merely a late check-out until 2 PM. At other hotels like The Ritz and Marriott, even when fully booked, a 2 PM late check-out is a standard courtesy, but here it was presented as special compensation, which was completely unacceptable. Upon entering the 'specially reserved' high-quality full sea-view room, it was merely not a corner room. The view to the left was obstructed, and there were many rooms on the same floor to the right with significantly better sea views. The actual view differed greatly from my booking expectations. Throughout this entire ordeal, no hotel management personnel came forward to communicate with us. Even upon check-out, I received no follow-up apology or visit from the hotel. Ultimately, Trip.com compensated us with a 30% discount on the first night's room rate. Objectively, here are other aspects of the hotel: 1. The location is excellent, with convenient access to the pool and beach. 2. The indoor kids' club is quite large, perfect for passing time on rainy or hot days. 3. The rooms are generally small and the facilities are a bit old; the twin beds are cramped. 4. Room service was very prompt and responsive to all requests, which was great. 5. Breakfast was quite average. 6. The bellboys were not very proactive with luggage; no one came unless called, and there was no one present at check-out. Overall, the facilities are decent, but the front office service, room allocation, and crisis management capabilities completely fall short of what a five-star Pullman should offer. This stay started with a very poor experience, and I offer this as a reference for other travelers.

I booked this hotel last minute, and honestly, it completely exceeded my expectations. The hotel is a little older, but the value for money is incredible. Downstairs, you have the Linchun River and Sanya River, and it's about 2km from the beach, which is a roughly 10 RMB taxi ride. Compared to the exorbitant prices of beachfront hotels, what more could you ask for? The hotel has a swimming pool with a kids' area and a deep end, and the gym is also pretty good. Both the front desk and room service staff were incredibly enthusiastic and always ready to help. Sometimes, I really do think these older, established hotels have the most mature service.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! It's super close to the beach, and I was so lucky to have stumbled upon such a gem on my very first stay. The front desk service was very professional; a big shout-out to the lovely ladies at counters 3 and 5 for their excellent hospitality. We stayed at this hotel with another family, and overall, it was a great experience. The greeters at the entrance were very good, especially one enthusiastic young man. There were plenty of water activities for the kids, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast buffet was decent, and dinner was quite abundant. The two singers created a fantastic atmosphere; my daughter even took her phone up to take a picture with them. Enjoying dinner by the sea with a gentle breeze in the evening was lovely and very atmospheric. We were quite satisfied with the overall experience. The snorkeling trip also yielded some great photos. There was one minor hiccup: I got water in my ear while diving, which led to an ear infection. However, the front desk lady and the nurse were both very warm and helpful in resolving the issue, which I really appreciated. The young man by the pool was also very fun; he climbed a tree to pick a jackfruit for us, and all the kids from the pool rushed over to eagerly share it. It was so much fun, and we got to taste a soft, gooey jackfruit like none we'd ever had before – usually, the ones we buy are quite firm. The service from everyone was excellent. We've stayed at Hilton, Yanlord Crowne Plaza, and InterContinental before, and this time at Sheraton. We would definitely choose to stay at Sheraton again next time, hoping for an even better experience.

I really have to give a hundred and twenty thumbs up to my butler, Winnie! This was my second stay at the Holiday Inn, and it truly feels like a home away from home. It's especially great for families with kids; the public areas are spacious and well-equipped with everything you need. You can pop back to your room anytime for supplies, and it's so convenient to go straight from the pool to your room without getting cold. There are also facilities for children everywhere, with water and lollipops readily available. Our room even had a Dyson hairdryer and thoughtful mosquito repellent. Coincidentally, my eldest's birthday was during our stay, and the hotel decorated the room simply and provided a small cake, which made the child very happy. Even after the supervisor's shift, the room service phone was always answered instantly – they truly accommodated every request. We'll definitely be back, and I've already recommended this place to several friends who were all very satisfied. The laundry room is also very convenient; other hotels we've stayed at since have felt a bit lacking in comparison.

Our stay at Sanya Conifer Hotel was excellent overall, and I have to give a special shout-out to our dedicated butler, Zoe! From the moment we checked in, she was incredibly attentive throughout. She proactively discussed our room preferences, helped us choose a seaview room with an amazing view, and meticulously explained details about the sky-high cantilevered pool, breakfast hours, and other hotel amenities, saving us a lot of time figuring things out. During our stay, she almost instantly responded to our messages, whether it was booking a slot for the pool, storing our luggage, recommending sunset spots and local eateries in Sanya Bay, or replenishing room supplies and adjusting the room setup – her responses were always prompt, professional, and thorough. Zoe paid great attention to detail. She reminded us about safety precautions for beach activities and put a lot of thought into planning our local sightseeing routes. Having a butler manage these small things made our vacation much more relaxing. While the hotel's hardware is aesthetically pleasing, with the balcony sea view and the trendy cantilevered pool offering a fantastic experience, Zoe's gentle, professional, and warm service was truly the highlight of our stay. My only minor complaint is that the hotel's robot delivery service for meals was quite slow, and waiting times were a bit long during peak hours. I hope they can optimize and improve their delivery efficiency in the future. Putting this small drawback aside, the overall experience was still top-notch. The next time we visit Conifer, we'll definitely request Zoe as our butler again. Highly recommended!

Let's start with the ambiance. As an established five-star hotel, the Hilton's lobby and public areas make a fantastic first impression, steering clear of monotony and offering a true island vibe. The room facilities, while showing their age, are impeccably maintained, and the cleanliness is acceptable; I'd rate it 4.5 stars. Next, service, which also gets 4.5 stars. Our butler, Eddy, was diligent and attentive from check-in to check-out, going above and beyond to meet our requests with quick responses. There are some complimentary activities that require advance booking; the spa is excellent, and the 90-minute package for under 400 is a great deal. Finally, the food. On the first day, breakfast seemed decent, but after three days, it became unbearable. The dishes never changed, there was too little meat and too few salad options, and a lot of processed sausages. The eggs were well-made and could be ordered fresh, but service was slow when it got busy. There were many dessert options, but both the texture and taste were very ordinary, though the 'jianbing guozi' (Chinese crepes) were surprisingly good. The barbecue at the poolside bar was a major disappointment; the beef skewers were tougher than my shoe sole. Seriously, you need to step up your game! For food, I can only give 3 stars, and I sincerely hope for significant improvements.

The hotel has several upsides: the public areas are spacious with great views, and the large lawn is perfect for photos. The pool is quite clean, and there are plenty of activities for kids (more suitable for those under 10). The breakfast at the 'Chef's Stage' restaurant is diverse and plentiful (especially compared to the Horizon Club). It's also close to the duty-free shop. The guest relations specialist, Yarina, was proactive, responsive, and effectively resolved any issues. However, the downsides are equally apparent. The biggest problem was the strong musty and strange odor in the hallways, elevators, and rooms. Additionally, the hotel staff generally had a stiff and unapproachable attitude. Since you can't swim in the sea at Haitang Bay, it can feel a bit dull, so the main point of coming here is to enjoy the hotel facilities. I had read reviews saying that Shangri-La was excellent for families with kids and offered a fantastic experience, but honestly, this stay didn't meet my expectations. I'm still giving it five stars though, as everyone working hard deserves it.

A definite full-score recommendation 👍 The most heartwarming part was the upgrade: We booked a basic room, and the front desk, seeing we were a family of three, readily upgraded us to a family room. The space was incredibly generous; even our 18-year-old daughter had her own little corner. The bedding was just the right firmness, and all three of us slept soundly – even my wife, who usually has trouble sleeping in new places, praised it. The environment was absolutely stunning: The tropical gardens were incredibly soothing, and every photo we took looked like it was straight out of a magazine. The pool complex was the biggest highlight – several pools, each with a different vibe. We rotated through them all: our daughter loved the splash pool with slides, while my wife and I preferred the infinity pool. Soaking in the water at sunset was incredibly romantic. The beach was just a two or three-minute walk away, uncrowded with fine sand. It was so relaxing for our family of three to walk and play in the water. The service was also excellent: When we needed extra towels and bottled water, they arrived within minutes. The breakfast had a rich variety, and the Baoluo noodles and Qingbuliang dessert soup became our daily must-haves. In short, this stay was a full-score experience with incredibly high value for money. Our daughter even said she wants to come back next time. I was genuinely surprised by this hotel! Having stayed at most of the beachfront hotels in Sanya, I spent a few days by the sea this time, and then decided to escape the rainy season in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai by retreating to the mountains for a few more days. Location: Since I was driving, I didn't feel it was far from the city. At least all delivery services were available. Plus, the resort itself is so convenient that I didn't feel the need to go out. They have everything: restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, a spa, a supermarket, a barbershop, etc. If you need anything, you can just order delivery. Ambiance: Excellent. The greenery is superb, and the hygiene is top-notch – not a single piece of trash. Service: The butler service was fantastic right from the moment I completed my booking. They handled vehicle registration, luggage, check-in, and even delivered fruit. The butler's WeChat responses were always prompt. They also helped me pre-book some in-house activities (yoga, sound healing, etc.). They even helped deliver food up to my room, and there are shuttle buses to phases 1 and 3 of the resort. All the staff are very attractive. My flight was delayed due to a typhoon, and they even granted me a late checkout. Hotel Facilities: They have it all – pools, restaurants, a gym, and sports courts. The room's amenities are also great, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, a fridge, a coffee machine, and even a pour-over coffee pot! The balcony has lounge chairs and a drying rack. Bathing and toiletries are fully stocked. The minibar offers complimentary drinks and snacks daily. Dining: I tried the Michelin-starred Sichuan restaurant Jichuan (good), the yakitori place Niaowan (great value for money), various cuisines at Dining Hall No. 1, and the 1402 coffee and bakery – all were good. Yongfu and Xinrongji Manner are only open in winter. Compared to the hustle and bustle of the beach, this place feels like the quiet Ubud of Sanya. I realized it's perfect for a 'sportcation' this time, and I plan to come back!

Pros: The villa is wonderful, and the first impression is just 'wow.' It has a fantastic private pool, personal sun loungers, nice furniture, a bathtub, and a pleasant colonial-style interior – everything is beautiful. There's a large refrigerator, even with a freezer, and tableware. Oddly, there's no cutlery, not even chopsticks. But, for some reason, there's a two-chamber sterilizer for dishes. The only problem is the significant lack of a microwave. The cleaning service is excellent! Frequent change of linens, washing all dishes, pool cleaning, and leaf removal. They provide plenty of water and toiletries. The breakfasts are good, and the juices are delicious. The menu even changes slightly almost every day, which is another plus. We also enjoyed dinner; you can cook in a hot pot, and there's meat and seafood available. The Chilean wine is decent. Many reviews praise the grounds. Formally, it's large but somewhat impractical. It's mostly just a path along the villas. It's fine for morning runs, but a walk there is a one-time thing. Although, it's undeniably very well-maintained: coconuts are collected, lawns are mowed, leaves are cleared, and the shrubs and flowers are beautiful. The staff do a great job. Cons: Wildlife. It's understandable that a villa stay means being close to nature, and there will be creatures. Birds and chipmunks (?) are lovely. Geckos, snails, cicada chirps, and frog croaks are tolerable. Ants, though outside the house, are not ideal but manageable. However, giant cockroaches that crawl into the living room under a closed front door and somehow get into the bathroom?? We saw 9 in less than a week, and squashed most of them. And this was despite us throwing trash into the outdoor bin! It feels like they come out actively after it rains. After such encounters, relaxation is ruined; you flinch at every rustle and tightly seal your suitcases. Speaking of rustling: several times in the mornings, we woke up to a short but loud chirping sound, coming from an unknown creature and an unknown location: outside or inside. Perhaps geckos. It's hard to fall back asleep afterward. Mosquitoes aren't visible, and the repellents work, but they (or something else) bite. After sleeping, there are regularly 1-2 bite marks. There are 3 public pools, 2 of which are for children. The deep pool is small, and there's no point in going there if you have your own. However, the pictures on Trip.com make the pools seem much longer, which is misleading. Perhaps some channels have been filled in, as there are bridges crossing over grass. The public area essentially ends around the pools, and there's not much space to walk around. Communication with the hotel. I have mixed feelings. On one hand, when we asked for help, they advised us. But there are many things that could have been explained during check-in. What's the buggy schedule? How do you call one? Where can we get beach towels? Where is the nearest beach exit? How do we rent SUPs? How do we use the golf certificate? Where does food delivery go? How do you use the sterilizer, if needed? And so on. It's obvious that almost every guest asks these questions. All of this could be written on an A4 sheet and placed in the villa. Of course, you can ask at the reception, but there's a catch. You have to take a buggy from the villa to get there. By phone, you can only call a buggy; other questions cannot be resolved in English. You can add the reception on WeChat (which they also don't tell you themselves), but it turned out that if you scan their QR code, it requires re-verification, which just gets stuck at the first step... and it's a dead end. Only on the last day did we accidentally find out that you can show your QR code for them to add you, and then everything works. Nobody told us this beforehand. The beach is relatively far. You have to get from the villa to the lobby, then wait for a buggy to the golf club, then walk to the beach exit near the Marriott. If you're lucky with the connections, it can take 30-40 minutes to get there. There are no private sun loungers; you can try to occupy the Marriott's or rent one for 128 yuan for 2 hours. Food and shops are also near the Marriott. However, everything there is much more expensive than in the Stella area where McDonald's is, so it makes sense to walk further. Overall, if it weren't for the cockroaches and loud noises at night, we probably would return, but as it stands – unlikely.

The MGM Grand Sanya hotel was the last of our six hotels from our trip to China. We booked the Corona Sunset Sea-view Suite - Extra-large Ocean View Terrace via trip.com. This spacious two-room suite is 130 sq m with a large 100 sq m terrace. At reception we were immediately connected on WeChat to Sheldon, a butler who speaks excellent English and some Russian. The suite, with large floor-to-ceiling windows, is fully equipped: a capsule coffee machine, a hairdryer, an ironing board, an iron, fully automatic toilets (two in our room), slippers, robes for adults and children, and toiletries, including baby toiletries. We were especially pleased with the large live indoor flowers in the room. There is a minibar. Along the entire transparent terrace railing, on the left and right, there are fresh flowers with cute blue blossoms, which creates an additional cozy atmosphere: The terrace has sun loungers, a large table with chairs, and a small table with armchairs. There's also a clothes dryer, which is very convenient. The terrace offers a beautiful view of the sea and the hotel grounds. We recommend booking this room or villa, as breakfast in these room types is served in a restaurant next to the beach overlooking the sea. This restaurant offers both a buffet and an à la carte menu. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. There weren't many guests at breakfast in this restaurant. We also had breakfast in the main restaurant, but we really enjoyed the breakfast and service in this restaurant near the beach. The sea was excellent; there were some waves, but we swam. There were always sun loungers available by the sea. The hotel is large, with many children. Generally, the hotel is geared toward families with children, as there are plenty of activities for children. Some might find it noisy, but our room with a terrace was peaceful and quiet. Our booking package included a photo shoot, and we loved the photos – they were truly professional and beautiful. We want to say a big thank you to our butler, Sheldon, who was always available, answered all our questions, and made our stay even more comfortable. Upon check-in we encountered several cleaning issues, which Sheldon promptly resolved, for which we are very grateful. We have only positive impressions from my stay at this hotel!

The hotel building is supposedly the newest wing of the old BAO Hotel across the street where those staying in the Shanghai Huating Boutique must go for breakfast. We waited 25 minutes to check as there was one desk agent serving one customer although after 2pm. The other staff agent appeared after 3pm. We were required to pay a refundable 500 RMB deposit and after checking into our room, God only knows what anyone would take from the room that was worth 500 RMB. Old not ironed bed linen, rusted garbage can, rusted balcony sink, old clean bathroom towel, old kitchen appliances which only the refrigerator was plugged in to work. The room condition (walls, floors, tiles, fixtures, etc) of the 8 years old hotel that opened in 2018 is far worse than it should be unless they used old materials to build. The option to PAY MORE for an “ocean view” is not worth it. After complaining that my room had a “pool view” AND I didn’t get the “ocean view” room I had PREPAID for, I was told I could change to another room that had an ocean view the NEXT DAY (because all of the 2 twin bedrooms with “ocean view” were already occupied for the day. But after I was shown the only room that had a view of the unsightly harbor/ocean which came with an old hard king size mattress and in worse condition than my 2 twin beds room, I decided not to move to another room BECAUSE after viewing the other available rooms where guests had checked out, there were none any better to justify packing up and moving to another old room. I contacted Trip.com, but because the cancellation period for THIS hotel expired the day before arrival, thus not allowing a chance to view the room before accepting the room at checkin. This is a red flag 🚩 as a hotel with pride & confidence in its products & service would allow the cancellation to extend to AT LEAST to 2-4pm on the planned checkin date especially at a famous beach resort (DaDongHai) during the 15 days long Chinese New Year’s holiday. So, no chance to change hotels UNLESS I was willing to forfeit $487.47. Also, I should mention the ants that appeared on the kitchenette counter EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO FOOD on the counter, only my coffee cup that I washed and left on the counter to dry. THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT MY STAY AT THIS “DESPERATELY NEED OF A PROPER RENOVATION” HOTEL IS THE ONE MORNING FEMALE DESK AGENT THAT ASSISTED ME A COUPLE OF TIMES IN THE MORNING AND A HOUSEKEEPING LADY SO, I GAVE BOTH A GOOD LUCK RED ENVELOPE 🧧 AS IT WAS THE CHINESE NEW YEAR HOLIDAY. If I go back to Da Dong Hai, I will DEFINITELY LOOK for a better hotel for my usually desired 5-10 days Sun & Beach vacation.

Traveling with friends, we thought it would be a nice experience to book a villa. We chose Villa No. 5 for two main reasons: first, its proximity to Baihua Valley. One of our friends finds walking tiring due to their weight, so being close meant less walking for food and drinks. Second was the price; the 4-bedroom villa package was a really good deal. Although there were four adults and one child, and a 3-bedroom would have sufficed, we called the hotel beforehand and were told that the ground floor often had a musty smell. So, we opted for the 4-bedroom, with all adults and children staying upstairs, which proved to be a very wise decision as the ground floor indeed had a noticeable musty odor. The hotel front desk assigned us a room closest to the lobby and pool, making swimming incredibly convenient. The downsides of this villa were the lack of a proper yard and the large showerhead in the bathroom was very difficult to use, though the smaller one was fine. The hygiene was good, the staff were enthusiastic, and plenty of bottled water was provided. The facilities were a bit dated, and butler service incurred an additional charge.

There's no beach directly on the island, but they offer an electric shuttle every 15 minutes to take you off the island. Once you get off, the beach is just about 50 meters straight ahead to the left. Alternatively, if you cross the road straight ahead, there's a large shopping mall, which is very convenient! Plus, they even gave us complimentary tickets to a show and some coffee.

This is my first time staying at the St. Regis, and I want to give a thorough review! First: Pre-check-in service! The hotel and butler will contact you in advance, add you on WeChat, and inform you of important notes and arrangements. This is a pretty standard and thoughtful procedure. Second: Hotel check-in time is after 3 PM. To be honest, I used to not think much of it, but now some hotels in China allow check-in after 12 PM. Paying for a full day but only staying for less than 21 hours feels a bit unreasonable. Also, they initially gave me the wrong room number, which was a hassle and put me in a bad mood. Even though they gave a small lion toy as a gift, I still feel that a hotel of this caliber shouldn't make such mistakes. Third: The hotel is considered top luxury in Yalong Bay and isn't cheap. The scenery is indeed stunning, with a huge, very Southeast Asian-style garden. Every corner is picturesque. If you love taking photos, this is the place to be. Fourth: The room environment was quite good, very clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large. We booked a high-floor, ocean-view room, which was great; opening the curtains revealed the sea, incredibly relaxing. On the first day of our stay, all the drinks in the minibar were free, but after that, they cost extra. This isn't very friendly; many hotels of this caliber now replenish and offer free drinks daily. For example, a certain hotel in Clearwater Bay does. Fifth: Butler service! How to put it... my butler was great. However, the hotel's execution of things confirmed with the butler was poor. For example, I booked a Western meal, but no one from the restaurant contacted me. When I arrived, they still needed to reconfirm with me, and we waited half an hour for appetizers while a bunch of food was waiting. Plus, there were three of us dining, but items served by portion were only for two. I had to tell the butler to add the extra portion, even though the order clearly stated two adults and one child. This needs improvement. Sixth: The hotel's travel photography looks great, but there are too many 'tricks.' Because the photos are so beautiful, you'll definitely end up spending more money. Those who can resist spending are truly commendable. Seventh: For such an expensive hotel, there's no free shuttle to the airport. This is really quite inconsiderate. I wonder if this is common for all hotels in Yalong Bay. I would probably come back to stay if I have the chance; the environment is indeed excellent.

The sea in the Mangrove Tree area seems to have smaller waves, making it relatively safer. Even with a light drizzle, it didn't stop us from swimming in the ocean, which is exactly why we came to Sanya. The hotel breakfast had a great variety, and the fruits were plentiful and fresh, which I was very satisfied with! We've already moved to our second hotel now, and it's day one of missing Coral…

While the hotel is by the sea and the sea breeze has inevitably aged some of the facilities, the staff were always patient, friendly, and efficient in resolving any issues. With wonderful staff and beautiful scenery, our stay was fantastic. It's incredibly convenient to get to Coconut Palm Boulevard from the hotel, and on the way back, there's no uphill walk; you can just enter through the Chinese restaurant and take the direct elevator to Building 1. The hotel's breakfast offered a rich variety of options, with early opening and late closing times, which was very considerate. There are also many family-friendly activities, enjoyable for adults too. Overall, I highly recommend staying here.

I chose this hotel specifically for its location in Haitang Bay, but it turns out the service in Haitang Bay is the worst among Sanya Bay, Yalong Bay, and Haitang Bay. 😓 1. We arrived at the hotel around 4 PM, and our room wasn't ready yet, so we couldn't check in. The hotel didn't even apologize. 2. They advertised a complimentary children's swim ring, but it was just something you could borrow from the pool area. If they ran out, you were out of luck. If it's not a guaranteed service, they shouldn't advertise it. 3. As soon as I entered the room, there was a strange smell. The room is too old, I wouldn't recommend it. 4. The butler service was decent; if it weren't for that, I wouldn't even give it 3 stars. 5. The beach is quite far from the hotel, at least an 800-meter walk. I won't choose Haitang Bay next time.

I've been to Yalong Bay many times, but this was my first stay at The St. Regis, and it was a spontaneous trip. 1. Hotel Environment: Entering the hotel, there's a lovely tree-lined path. The hotel lobby and common areas are of a very high standard. The layout is well-planned, there's abundant greenery, and the signage is clear – even someone as directionally challenged as me could find their way around. 2. Hotel Service: From check-in to meeting our butler, everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. Our butler, Yuki, was an absolute sweetheart; her dimples were adorable. I tend to have a lot of requests, but when I arrived, everything had already been taken care of. Yuki checked in on us daily; I barely even used the room phone – if I needed anything, Yuki was there. Judy Fu, who cleaned our room, replenished supplies and tidied up promptly every day. The weather was hot, and her care was very thoughtful. 3. Hotel Dining: Since we were rarely around at mealtimes, we mostly ordered room service. The food at the Chinese restaurant was delicious, with a great variety of dishes. I had planned to eat there again for lunch but didn't get the chance; I'll definitely go back next time. 4. Hotel Facilities: The hotel has its own pier, and there are so many activities available. They also have go-karts and a rainbow slide, perfect for enjoying when the sun isn't too strong. I really loved my room, especially the bathroom – everything was so well-designed and spacious. I dislike cramped layouts. In summary: A few days weren't enough; I definitely need to go back!

I stayed for two nights. The first night was in building 6, and the second day, our butler Grace helped us move to building 8, which I had always wanted to stay in. The view was indeed better, and Grace even gave us a delicious chocolate cake! Overall, the stay was very pleasant, and you could tell the management was on top of things. The public areas are truly beautiful and great for photos. All the staff were very friendly, especially the pool staff. Twice we went swimming without getting towels, and when we got out of the water, we found two warm towels already placed next to our belongings. Big props to this initiative and the staff who carried it out! It's a shame we encountered heavy rain this time, with at least one day spent cooped up in the room. Next time, I'll definitely pick a sunny day to return, and I also hope the room facilities will have some updates!

Since 2020, every year around late July and early August, my annual rendezvous with the mountains and sea unfailingly comes to pass. The Mangrove Tree Resort in Haitang Bay has long been my unwavering vacation retreat, perfectly aligning with all my aspirations for a coastal getaway. Year after year, I return with a longing heart. I’ve always been captivated by the 180° Deluxe Seaview Room, with its expansive balcony directly facing the vast South China Sea. Leaning on the railing, I take in the boundless blue sea and sky, watching the clouds drift and the tides ebb and flow. In past stays, I did leave some minor suggestions for improvement. Returning this time, I was delighted to see the hotel has diligently iterated and enhanced its services, with numerous details improved, showcasing a sincere commitment to guest satisfaction. The only minor imperfections this stay were the weak air conditioning in the room and a malfunctioning electric screen. I hope the housekeeping and engineering departments can strengthen their coordinated inspections and daily equipment maintenance to further refine the living experience. This year’s entire trip was exceptionally memorable, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to our butler, 'Juzi Juzi Juzi'. Her service was meticulous and attentive, with highly efficient and timely responses. Every request was addressed. Without me even having to ask, she proactively inquired about my itinerary and daily needs, promptly arranging room cleaning, replenishing beverages, and even thoughtfully providing fruit plates and desserts. When my relatives and friends later checked into the same type of seaview room, they were also handled by the butler throughout their stay. She arranged high-floor rooms with large balconies offering sea views and even provided upgrades. Each room was thoughtfully prepared with fruit plates and desserts – comprehensive and impeccable service. This has been the most outstanding butler service I've experienced in my many years of staying at the Mangrove Tree Resort. I sincerely hope the hotel can cultivate more such excellent service staff. I also want to thank the Trip.com butler who helped me communicate and implement my special check-in requests in advance. Upon arrival, I didn't have to wait in line, and the coveted sea-view room had already been perfectly reserved for me. I used the VIP channel for check-in, and the entire process was calm and smooth. My initial room was upgraded to the 15th floor, and later, due to the air conditioning issue, the butler thoughtfully coordinated a move to the executive floor on the 23rd floor. The service provided by 'Juzi Juzi Juzi' this year was truly flawless. As night falls, fireworks bloom in the sky, with buildings and the heavens reflecting each other, creating a spectacular and dazzling scene. Haitang Bay boasts a cluster of high-end hotels, but in my heart, the Mangrove Tree Resort will always hold an irreplaceable position. Strolling through the hotel gardens, gazing at the vast ocean, enjoying delicious food with the sea breeze; at night, sitting alone by the sea, listening to the rhythmic waves, I fully indulge in the relaxation and tranquility of a vacation. I have witnessed the hotel’s growth and transformation over the years and wish to continue accompanying the Mangrove Tree Resort on its journey forward. I look forward to the hotel's continued refinement and the unlocking of more novel and exciting experiences. I anticipate returning next summer for another rendezvous with the mountains and sea. Opening the door to our room was a pleasant surprise – it was spacious and tidy, the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the toiletries were complete, showing attention to detail everywhere. Diana was always enthusiastic and appropriate in her interactions, and her responses to messages were consistently prompt and reliable. Whether we needed extra room amenities, wanted to reserve a pool spot, or sought directions to nearby duty-free shops and food streets, she provided clear and organized solutions with impeccable professionalism. Any small requests during our stay were promptly and properly handled. She struck the perfect balance, never being overly intrusive yet always appearing precisely when needed. Beyond the service, the hotel's overall ambiance and facilities were outstanding. The grounds are surrounded by lush coconut groves and greenery, offering a relaxed island vibe with picturesque views at every turn. The three partitioned swimming pools were comfortably heated, with clearly designated adult quiet zones and children's play areas. A short stroll leads to the private beach, where watching the sunset with the sea breeze was incredibly therapeutic. The breakfast spread was rich and diverse, featuring Hainanese specialty noodles, Western pastries, and fresh fruit beverages, all delicious. The hotel also has direct access to the 68 Global Food Street, making dining and shopping very convenient. In our free time, we could also enjoy craft activities at the Kids' Club, making for a wonderfully lazy and comfortable vacation pace. The only minor regret of this trip was that we left too early on our departure day and couldn't say goodbye to Diana in person. Afterward, she specifically messaged us, her tone reflecting a slight apology, explaining in detail why she couldn't see us off. This gentle and sincere gesture beautifully smoothed over that small imperfection, and she even sent us travel blessings. Her thoughtful approach made us feel incredibly warm. A comfortable vacation is half due to the scenery and environment, and half due to the attentive service. Many thanks to Diana for her meticulous and thoughtful care throughout our stay. The Grand Hyatt Sanya Haitang Bay truly lives up to its reputation as a top choice for a Haitang Bay vacation. The public areas include a swimming pool, a mini-train, and some small animals – the environment is simply fantastic. Cleanliness: Generally good. The room had all the essentials, but the TV couldn't screen mirror, and there was no washing machine in the room; laundry service was chargeable. Service: The service attitude was decent, but I felt there were some management issues. On our first day, we arrived at 1:30 PM for check-in. After completing the formalities, we were told to wait for a call to get our room key. We went to the front desk at 3 PM, had to queue for half an hour, only to be told the room wasn't ready yet. We finally checked in at 3:30 PM. Overall, the downsides: The facilities are a bit old, service is just okay, the restaurant food is mediocre, and the minimum order for food delivery is quite high due to the distance. We only got one breakfast included with our booking; it seems like everything else requires additional payment. Advantages: Being frontline by the sea creates a strong vacation vibe, and it's perfect for families with kids who want to relax at the hotel and are looking for good value for money.

Cleanliness of the room is not very good too, we saw a cockroach in our bathroom on the first day … and there are stains on the tables / bathroom area. The staff were nice and friendly though. Facilities wise we only used the gym which was very small old and equipment was faulty. But the staff did say we can go to the opposite hotel for a better gym. Overall I would say location is the best aspect of this hotel.
