In my opinion, this is the must-stay hotel near Cuihu Lake. It's a classic hotel with a superb location. Unfortunately, it's been open for a long time, so the facilities are a bit outdated. However, the hygiene is still up to par. If you don't mind older facilities, this is definitely the place to stay, and I don't recall many other new hotels around Cuihu Lake anyway. The breakfast is as delicious as ever, especially the variety of breads 🥯. The only minor issue was when I asked the chef at the noodle station for a bowl of rice noodles with less broth; he seemed a bit annoyed, perhaps due to the National Day crowds. When leaving, I bought some snowflake crisps again. The staff at the Western restaurant were very friendly, and the doorman was also nice. There were fewer bellhops, but their attitude was still good. The front desk was okay. I hope the hotel continues to improve, and I really wish they would update the facilities, otherwise, such a prime location goes to waste.

After leaving a green hotel full of corridors and doors early in the morning, arriving at the Holiday Inn City Center was a truly pleasant experience. The hotel staff were very enthusiastic and even upgraded me to a Grand Corner Room. Lying on the sofa by the large window and looking outside was so relaxing, it really brightened my mood. I ordered the breakfast small-pot rice noodles, and it was delivered quickly. The mini-bar also provided complimentary tamarind juice, which was perfect for cutting through the richness of the Erkuai (rice cakes). I also requested a knife to cut my mangosteen, and it was promptly delivered. The only minor regret was that the bathtub stopper was missing at the bottom; I came back too late that day to ask the staff to fix it. This is a small flaw, and the hotel is still excellent, but I do hope it can be fixed to make the stay even more perfect.

Location: While it’s a bit of a distance from the main attractions, it sits conveniently right in the middle of everything. It's a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. I especially loved the entrance being tucked away on a slight slope, offering far more privacy than most trendy, ”Instagrammable” hotels. Service: Absolutely top-tier, a full 10/10. Every single staff member I encountered was incredibly professional, carrying themselves with dignity, warmth, and grace. They were proactive in greeting guests, offering help, solving issues, and checking in on our experience. These subtle details truly showcase the management quality of a long-standing, prestigious local 5-star hotel. Room & Amenities: We upgraded from the originally booked 210-degree panoramic room to an Executive Suite, and it was worth every penny. The suite was significantly more spacious, with a much better layout and view. It featured two bathrooms with separate wet and dry areas. On top of that, we enjoyed complimentary access to the 32nd-floor Executive Lounge. The stay was so comfortable that we ended up extending for another two nights. Value for Money: Beyond amazing. Rates went up slightly during the National Day holiday, but the increase was so minimal it was genuinely heartwarming. Overall: We will definitely be back! This will still be my top choice next time I visit Kunming. Just hope the prices don't go up, haha!

I stayed here a few days before the October holiday, and then went to another city to travel. When I came back, because of the good experience before, I decisively booked here again. I was very satisfied with my stay at Crowne Plaza Kunming City Centre. The front office managers, Jenny, Nova, and Angel, followed up on my room every day and asked about my needs, making me feel at home. The room was clean and tidy, and the soundproofing was excellent. I highly recommend it! Additionally, I compared the prices of souvenirs and tobacco/alcohol counters on the first floor of the lobby with outside stores, and they were similar. So if you're traveling and want to buy souvenirs, you can buy them with confidence.

I prefer high-floor rooms, so the front desk upgraded me to a 47th-floor room with a view of Dianchi Lake. At night, the city lights were dazzling, and when I woke up in the morning, I realized there was also a distant view of Dianchi Lake, which was quite picturesque. The service was very attentive and thoughtful. A minor hiccup with luggage delivery didn't detract from the overall excellent impression. We checked in quite late, and they provided welcome fruits, snacks, and a small cake. To apologize for the late check-in, they even offered us complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was indeed very rich, and the selection was good. The only slight downside was the absence of Erkuai (a local Yunnan specialty). Overall, I was very satisfied. Although the hotel's hardware feels a bit like it's from the 2010s, it doesn't hinder the overall experience from meeting five-star standards.

We were on a family trip and originally planned to stay at the Grand Hyatt Kunming, but we couldn't get a room because we hadn't booked in advance. So we ended up staying at this hotel instead, and the overall experience was comfortable and recommendable. Our room was on a higher floor with an expansive view, though there's still some development happening around the hotel. The room itself was small but clean, and the facilities were well-maintained. The shower had great water pressure, which was refreshing. The window allowed for good natural light, and it was quiet at night, so we slept soundly. Downstairs, there are many snack options, and Wanda Plaza is right next door, making it convenient for finding food. The hotel breakfast offered a rich selection. The hotel is about a 15-minute taxi ride from Kunming Station. The overall price was affordable, making it a good choice for family trips, business travel, and more. Yuma and Ray at the front desk were very enthusiastic and meticulous in their service, and other staff members were also friendly and greeted guests warmly, which was much appreciated.

Finding such a unique space amidst the city's hustle and bustle made for a truly special stay. Breakfast was à la carte, and although I didn't have high expectations for the 'crossing-the-bridge' noodles, the taste surprisingly exceeded them. I was very satisfied.

I chose this hostel for my solo trip, and the overall experience was surprisingly good. The room was very clean, and the bed had a privacy curtain and a bedside charging port, so you have your own small space when you pull the curtain. The bathroom and shower were clean, with plenty of hot water 24/7. The common areas had a great atmosphere for relaxing and chatting, where you can meet travelers from all over. The front desk service was attentive and even offered simple tips for local sightseeing routes. The location is excellent, convenient for dining, drinking, and getting around. It's fantastic value for money, a top choice for solo travelers, and I genuinely recommend it.

This isn't my first time staying at the Cuihu Hotel. I was initially torn between here and the Grand Hyatt, but I just couldn't resist coming back because I think it's better. The service is excellent, and it's very close to Cuihu Lake, so you can go for a stroll when it's less crowded. For coffee lovers, there are also many cafes nearby where you can relax and enjoy a cup. Xiao Kong, Xiao Fan, and Xiao Deng provided incredibly thoughtful service. Since we were traveling with a child, they even upgraded our room and reserved a quiet, high-floor room according to our preferences. Although it wasn't the season for watching seagulls, Zhang Can at the front desk still gave our child a small gift, which they absolutely loved! Even though the hotel has been open for a while and some of the facilities aren't as new as those in more recently built hotels, my whole family agreed that there's no limit to how many times we'd stay at Cuihu.

We arrived in the city at 11:30pm and we couldn’t get transfer from the airport as their working hours were from 4 am to 2pm. Maybe you need to order a car in a very advance. But it was not far from the airport and you can easily get there by local bus. The room wasn’t very clean, but it was alright. WiFi worked okay. There is a local market not far from the hotel, but not a lot of shops. There was water and kettle in the room. And it was very quiet, so you can get good sleep.

My overall experience during this stay was absolutely fantastic, and I must give a special shout-out to Lily (the server). She was incredibly welcoming during check-in, proactively helped with luggage to my room, and thoroughly explained all the hotel's amenities. Knowing I was traveling with two young children, she thoughtfully provided special kids' slippers and toothbrushes and even added extra safety rails, ensuring my little ones' safety during our stay. Since it was raining and difficult to go out, Lily actively invited the kids to participate in the hotel's DIY craft activities. My younger child is only two and not yet skilled at mixing and applying colors, but the staff patiently helped with the paints and guided her hand-in-hand through the creation process. At one point, my older child needed to attend an online meeting, and it was easy to be disturbed by her younger sibling in the room. After speaking with Lily, she immediately suggested using the hotel's study room, where she flexibly managed the ambient noise based on the children present, which was a huge help for me. Objectively, the room's hardware facilities might have a slight drawback, but the staff's exceptionally thoughtful and proactive, warm service more than made up for any shortcomings in the hardware. It was arguably the best service I've ever experienced during any stay. I'll definitely prioritize choosing this hotel again for my next trip.

The room isn't huge, but it's professionally designed, especially the bathroom. Even though it's on a busy street with construction nearby, they thoughtfully left a note and earplugs by the bed, which was a nice touch. The hallways and lobby also have a cozy atmosphere. The staff's service was attentive, and check-in/check-out was smooth. The laundry service was fantastic – they even turned my clothes inside out before washing them, so thorough! Having a laundry room is a huge plus for short to medium trips. Highly recommend!

An absolutely wonderful experience! The hotel's location is excellent, and the service is incredibly attentive. In addition to the usual breakfast items, they also offer freshly baked flower pastries. The executive lounge has a great variety of options and fantastic views. In the evenings, they even deliver sweet soup to your room, which was delicious! The mountain view from the room is also incredibly beautiful – so peaceful, with clear skies and fluffy clouds, making for a very relaxing stay. I especially want to commend our butler, Jingyu. She was always responsive and communicative, and her thoughtful arrangements made us so happy with the hotel that we extended our stay for another two days!

We had a very nice 8 day stay here. The restaurant was cozy and served good food at decent prices. I loved meeting so many people, especially the Chinese kids, via translator.The outdoor area was spacious with lots of green space to visit, write, read, etc. It even has a waterfall. You would never know you were in the city. And they recycle. Our room was on the top floor and looked down on the garden. We had two chairs at the foot of the bed. And a desk in the entry hall near the bathroom. It was small, but adequate. Clean, comfortable and quiet. We had an AC/heater. It rained one day and was chilly and damp. So having the heat option kept us nice and toasty. The shower had good pressure. We got water every day, but we filled our water bottles in the restaurant. We took advantage of the washer, a nominal fee, and were happy we could walk up a few stairs to hang them in the sun to dry. But there is a dryer if it's raining. The location is excellent. One block from Green Lake. Plenty of restaurants close by. The metro is a short distance just around the corner. You can get to the Airport or any of the train stations. And Yangxi Eat Street is just a 15 minute walk. Or, $1.00 Didi Ride. Not luxurious, but a very clean and comfortable place. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. It's one of the best and I am writing this from another hostel in Chengdu that I would not recommend.

The hotel environment is quite good, right near Dianchi Lake (part of the reason I booked this hotel). During the National Day holiday, it wasn't overly crowded, and both breakfast and the dinner buffet were delicious. The housekeeping auntie was extremely, extremely responsible! Her service was top-notch. The concierge staff were also excellent; they could deliver meals to the room. Because I caught a cold due to the temperature drop in Yunnan these past two days, they even sent ginger tea. And since my flight was a bit later, they accommodated our request for a late check-out. Overall, besides the TV being a bit small, there's really nothing else to complain about. I've stayed in many good hotels, some even more expensive and with more prominent brands, but they weren't as good as this one. This hotel truly impressed me, please keep up the great work!

The location is excellent, right by Cuihu Lake. The room was indeed small, but that's understandable given the prime real estate around the lake. The in-room amenities are all high-end brands like Duravit, which shows the designer's attempt to compensate for the small size. The bedside power strip and reading light design are also quite clever. The service was great; the front desk staff were enthusiastic and even helped with laundry and promptly mailed back an item I left in the room. My only minor complaint is that the lobby can get quite noisy during lunch and dinner service. I feel for the ladies working at the front desk who have to patiently assist guests and answer questions in such an environment – you all are doing a fantastic job!

Additionally, during my stay, people often rang the doorbell in the evening. While this was likely caused by outsiders mistakenly pressing the wrong bell and not entirely the hotel's fault, it did disrupt the peace and quiet of the stay. If you're looking for a short-term stay and aren't particular about the age of the hardware, this place is an option. 1️⃣ Location: The hotel is very close to Cuihu Lake. We walked with our stroller to Cuihu Park and Yuantongshan Zoo within a day. Downstairs is a prime citywalk route, passing by Zhibushi (a stationery store) and Rubber Bookstore. Ordering takeout was incredibly convenient, with a wide variety of options and delicious food. We enjoyed Dianhong lattes while tea-tasting uphill and avocado yogurt from Xiangzi Tea Shop. 2️⃣ Room Condition: The 13th-floor front desk was well-decorated and impressive. The room we booked was advertised as 28 square meters, but the actual room we were initially assigned upon check-in didn't seem that large. Plus, the window overlooked an old residential complex, which didn't match the city street view mentioned in the description. After contacting the hotel, they moved us to a room with a street view that was also slightly larger. 🛀 The showerhead was excellent; showering was very enjoyable. 3️⃣ Service: Check-in was after 2:00 PM, but even though we arrived after 3:00 PM, we still waited about 15 minutes to check in. Calls to the front desk were answered quickly, and you could tell the staff were dedicated, but perhaps they were a bit overwhelmed due to too many guests. 4️⃣ Facilities: There's a laundry room and treadmill on the 1st floor. The washer and dryer worked well, and the treadmill was good too. An hour of incline walking finally burned some calories. The downside is that the elevator is quite small and easily gets overloaded. 5️⃣ Value for Money: We paid 500+ for the hotel. Since the room was still quite small, I feel most of the money went towards the location, so the value for money wasn't very high. If location isn't your top priority, a hotel on Nanping Street would also be a good option.

What impressed me most about this hotel was the excellent service; it's rare to find a place where everyone's service is top-notch. The hotel's hot springs are superb, and the private bath was so comfortable. Having a private bath twice a day meant there was no need to visit the public ones. Although the breakfast selection wasn't huge, it was unique and delicious. I especially want to commend the butlers; they truly put the guests first, were proactive, and acted swiftly! The balcony: my room is 201, with a balcony overlooking the garden on the ground and an open space to the big building in front, which gave us a peaceful corner to sit and talk and enjoy the nice spring weather. 4. The costume: the hotel offers free Miao costume to wear and take photo inside the hotel. Xiao Wan, the receptionist also help to take soem nice photos for us. What should be improved: 1. The cleanliness: the room facilities were a bit old but the cleanliness is definitely something can be changed and improved: like the table in the balcony, which should have been clean the surface. 2. The amenities: the big bath towels are torn out at the 2 edges. They can be reused as footmat or rag to recycle. New bath towel should be seriously considered. 3. The TV: A slow internet connection is causing the TV to stutter and lag, making it impossible to watch.making it not enjoyable to watch.
