Futian Station Guide

Gambar Profil Penulis

Futian Station in Shenzhen is more than just a railway stop but it is one of China’s largest underground transport hubs and a key gateway between mainland China and Hong Kong. Opened in 2015, Futian Station spans multiple underground levels, making it one of Asia’s most extensive subterranean stations. It integrates China Railway High-Speed (CRH) services with Shenzhen Metro Lines 2, 3, and 11, allowing seamless transfers between long-distance trains and local transport. For travellers, it offers a smooth and efficient way to connect with major Chinese cities such as Guangzhou, Beijing, and Shanghai, or to cross the border to Hong Kong in a single journey. With easy metro access, clear English signage, and plenty of amenities, Futian Station makes travelling through southern China straightforward and comfortable.

Getting to Futian Station

Source: China Railway Wiki

No matter where your journey begins such as Hong Kong, Shenzhen city centre, or a nearby airport reaching Futian Station is simple with several convenient transport options.

From Hong Kong

  • By MTR and Foot
Take the MTR East Rail Line to Lok Ma Chau Station, then follow the clearly marked signs to the Futian Port immigration checkpoint. After clearing both Hong Kong and mainland China customs, it is a short, covered walk directly into Futian District and the station entrance.
  • By High-Speed Train
For a faster and more comfortable option, board the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong High-Speed Rail at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. The journey to Futian Station takes about 15–20 minutes, with frequent departures throughout the day. Tickets can be purchased in advance through Trip.com or the official 12306 app, both of which accept international credit cards.

From Shenzhen City

  • Metro Connections
Futian Station is served by Metro Lines 2, 3, and 11, making it easy to reach from most parts of the city. Trains run every few minutes from early morning until late evening, and clear English signs simplify navigation.
  • Taxi or Ride-Hailing
Licensed taxis and popular ride-hailing apps such as DiDi provide direct, door-to-door service. This is a convenient choice if you are carrying heavy luggage or travelling late at night.

From Airports

  • Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX)
    • By Metro: Take Metro Line 11 from the airport directly to Futian Station. The ride is about 35–40 minutes and requires no transfers.
    • By Taxi or DiDi: A taxi ride takes roughly 30–40 minutes, depending on traffic. This is the easiest option if you have large suitcases or arrive after metro operating hours.
  • Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
    • Airport Express + High-Speed Rail: Ride the Airport Express to Kowloon Station (about 20 minutes). From there, walk or take a short taxi to West Kowloon Station, then board the high-speed train to Futian Station (about 15–20 minutes).
    • Cross-Border Bus: Several direct cross-border coach services operate from HKG to Futian District. After clearing immigration, it’s a brief taxi or metro ride to Futian Station.

Buying tickets for both high-speed trains and the Shenzhen Metro is simple if you plan ahead. Travellers have several convenient options:

High-Speed Rail Tickets

  • Online Booking: Reserve seats through Trip.com or the official 12306 website/app. Both platforms accept international credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard, making them friendly for Malaysian users.
  • Station Counters & Machines: If you prefer to buy in person, Futian Station has staffed ticket counters and self-service machines with English menus. You must present your passport to purchase or collect tickets.
  • E-Tickets: When booking online, you can often use an e-ticket by scanning your passport at the gate, eliminating the need for a paper ticket.
  • Typical Fare : A one-way Hong Kong West Kowloon → Futian high-speed train ticket is usually around ¥68 (CNY), roughly RM 42 for a standard second-class seat. Prices may vary slightly by train class or time of day

Metro Tickets

  • Single Journey Tokens: Purchase from vending machines at any metro station; instructions are available in English.
  • Shenzhen Tong Card: For frequent travel, get a rechargeable Shenzhen Tong smart card, which allows easy tap-in/out access and can also be used on buses and some taxis.
  • Metro rides start at ¥2 (CNY) about RM 1.20 for short trips and can reach ¥14 (CNY) about RM 8.70 for the longest journeys.

Payment Options for Travellers

  • Credit Cards: International cards are widely accepted on Trip.com but may not always work on the 12306 app. Keep a backup payment method.
  • E-Wallets: Apps such as Alipay and WeChat Pay are extremely common in China. Malaysian travellers can activate these using a Malaysian bank card before the trip.
  • Cash: Carry some Chinese yuan (RMB) in case you encounter machines or shops that only accept cash.

Helpful Tips

  • Book high-speed rail tickets at least a few days in advance during holidays or peak seasons.
  • Double-check the departure station (e.g., Shenzhen North vs. Futian) when purchasing to avoid confusion.
  • Keep your passport handy at all times for ticket collection and station entry.

Facilities & Hygiene: The hotel has been open for a while now. Even though it's been renovated, some parts do show their age, which is to be expected. However, the cleanliness is consistently good, and the rooms are generally very spacious, making for a comfortable stay. Service: The staff are very welcoming. The only minor inconvenience is having to report your car plate to the front desk every time you leave the parking lot.

The butler service was warm and attentive; they responded promptly to all requests and gave excellent local recommendations for dining and entertainment. Overall, the environment, facilities, and service were outstanding, making for a superb stay. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shenzhen!

My stay at the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel was very comfortable overall. The location is super convenient, right next to the Convention & Exhibition Center subway station, just a few minutes' walk away, making getting around and handling business a breeze. The standard room was spacious, the bedding was clean and comfortable, and the soundproofing was also good, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The front desk and room service were prompt and friendly. Overall, it offers great value for money, and I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Shenzhen.

Overall, it was a pleasant and satisfactory stay. We were here for several days, and while we had a minor issue at the beginning, the hotel's butler service was incredibly prompt and professional in communicating with us and helping us resolve the problem. The hotel lobby is beautifully decorated, creating a great festive atmosphere. The location is also excellent, with convenient transportation all around, making it easy to get anywhere quickly. There are plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby as well. All in all, it was a good experience.

The only thing that would make the massage chair water in the pool perfect is if it were 2-3 degrees warmer. It's a bit too cool for just relaxing, though the changing rooms do have hot tubs. However, staying in the changing room for too long gets hot, and there's no view or fresh air. Marriott's water temperature is better in comparison. It's great that this hotel has a steam room and sauna, which is rare in Shenzhen. Overall, the hotel environment and service are excellent.

This stay was absolutely wonderful. Big thanks to Eric for proactively reaching out about my check-in request, providing detailed room information, and considering my accommodation needs. He was both professional and reliable. And a huge thank you to Mandy for her meticulous and thoughtful service, as well as her professional demeanor. She made me feel right at home during my stay and showcased the Ritz's top-tier service details and professionalism – truly commendable. **Check-in:** I checked in at the Executive Lounge on the 26th floor. Mandy warmly greeted me and handled the process. I was upgraded to an executive view room, and the overall experience was quick and pleasant. **Room:** I stayed in a newly renovated room this time. For established hotels, a new room, or simply choosing a new hotel, is often the safest bet. **Other amenities:** The toiletries were Diptyque Fig, and the water was VOSS – excellent choices. Welcome fruits were provided, and turn-down service included chocolates. **Executive Lounge:** The 'five meals a day' experience was great. Ms. Mandy gave me a detailed introduction to the current dining options and recommendations, and the other service staff were also excellent. **Breakfast:** The breakfast on the 2nd floor was quite extensive. Plates were cleared quickly, and the service was fantastic. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict and rice noodle rolls. Overall, it was an outstanding experience, distinct from my Ritz stays in other cities. The emphasis on service truly resonated with me during my time at The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen. I'll definitely make an effort to come back and relax here whenever I can.

On vacation in Shenzhen, I missed my return flight. For the first few days, I stayed at the Kaisa Marriott (far from the airport, by the sea), but I didn't want to travel back and forth and risk missing another flight. So, I found a nice hotel nearby. I have to say, the Four Seasons Shenzhen truly lives up to its name. When I checked in, the front desk attendant was incredibly friendly and approachable, which was a refreshing change from the cold, robotic service at some other hotels – definitely worth praising. Then there's the lobby, the natural light is absolutely unbeatable! There's a grand piano next to the bar, and we happened to see someone playing it. The soft sunlight streaming in made for a truly delightful scene, giving me an excellent first impression of the hotel. As for the room, I was very pleased with the fantastic sound quality of the speakers and the superb view. Although it wasn't on a high floor (I personally prefer staying in very tall hotels), the high-rises opposite perfectly conveyed the hustle and bustle of Shenzhen. The hotel's location is also excellent; the Ritz is directly opposite the Four Seasons, it's only about ten kilometers from the airport, and there's a pedestrian street right next door, making it incredibly convenient to go anywhere. Around 10 PM, we had a few cocktails at the lobby bar, and the atmosphere was super chill. Now, for some minor suggestions after listing the pros. First, the lobby bar closes way too early! It stops service at 11 PM. The front desk attendant even joked, ”I also think drinks should be enjoyed until the early morning hours.” I hope the bar can stay open until midnight so we can relax, chat, and enjoy the Shenzhen vibe a bit longer. Also, I hope the doormen can be a bit more attentive. Since there were four of us arriving in a business van, and each of us had luggage, I wished the doorman would react more quickly and have two more people help with our bags, instead of just one person deliberating on how to carry all our luggage. But these are minor issues. All in all, this Four Seasons experience was a quintessential luxury hotel stay. I hope the hotel continues to strive and maintain the Four Seasons' reputation and service. I look forward to even more delightful surprises on my next stay.

Had a nice stay with my family for my birthday. We stayed during Chinese new year dates so the restaurant Prego wasn't open. The Brez restaurant for dinner is nothing fancy but does the job. Breakfast was nice and only 100 per person. Service from all staff was really good. They gave a birthday cake for my birthday and were very accommodating. The staff was very welcoming and always making us feel welcome. Location is good if you have a car. We went to Dameisha beach, the pedestrian street and Sea world. All different districts. However, the hotel is in need of some upgrades. The pool is not that warm even though they say heated. Other one is the baby crib. 1: - it's tiny. More for a newborn. 2: - the cribs are old and worn down. Need to upgrade baby beds immediately. Not sanitary for children. I did ask for a bigger size but it was a pull out bed which was an extra charge and also our baby doesn't sleep in a big bed yet. So in the end, we had a tiny, warn out baby crib. He ended up in bed with us. I wouldn't consider it 5 stars. Would I stay again? Probably not. Thanks to the staff!

It's also close to the Dongmen commercial area, so dining, entertainment, and shopping are all easily accessible. I had a very satisfying stay this time. The customer service, especially ANNA, was incredibly thoughtful and helped us resolve many small issues – much appreciated! The hotel's location is excellent; it's very close to Wutong Mountain, Meisha Peak, and both Dameisha and Xiaomeisha beaches. The subway is an 8-minute walk away, and the Chung Ying Street is a 10-minute walk. Plus, there are plenty of dining options nearby, whether you prefer takeout or dining in. I saw this White House B&B online and it looked beautiful. Although it was similarly priced to the White House Hotel, the idea of stepping right out onto the beach was more appealing to me, so I chose the B&B. The first two days we were here, the weather was just awful. Beach trips are really dependent on good weather, so I didn't get the shots I wanted. As a result, I spent those two days visiting other attractions. On the last day, the sun finally came out, and I finally saw the beautiful beach and sea, washing away the gloom of the previous two days. My child was finally able to happily play in the water and dig in the sand, even getting quite a tan. However, Nanao First Beach was smaller than I imagined; I had pictured a very, very long coastline. One morning, just as dawn was breaking, I was woken up by a child from the next room shouting outside. It was a bit annoying to be disturbed before I was fully rested, but it's understandable in courtyard-style accommodations where rooms are connected. Another night, I heard thumping noises outside and thought it was a thief. I went out with a hanger to investigate and found other guests had taken a chair from the courtyard to chat together. Perhaps it's because it was my first time staying in this type of place, but I did feel a bit unsafe initially. Thankfully, I got used to it after two days. As for dining, there are several restaurants nearby, and you can also order delivery directly to your room. The White House itself has a restaurant; unfortunately, I went too late that day and missed out on the pizza. While the service was a bit slow, the food was indeed very good. During my stay, despite a few minor issues with cleanliness, the housekeeper was very proactive in resolving problems. The front desk staff even generously provided sand toys. Whether it was the manager or the owner, one lady was incredibly warm and helpful – I think she had the best service attitude, and I'd like to give her a big thumbs up! For the stunning views on a sunny day and the owner's excellent service, I would definitely come back again.

Booked my trip during Chinese New Year, and the front desk agent, Xiao Yang, was incredibly warm and attentive. They let me check in early after confirming with me, and even offered complimentary breakfast and a late checkout, which was very patient of them. The room had a balcony, which was a nice touch overall. The breakfast selection was a bit limited compared to other Hilton properties, and the room rate during Chinese New Year was actually double what you'd pay at Shenzhen North Station. However, the service was consistently excellent.
