When I was travelling in South Korea, one of the most exciting routes I took was from Seoul to Busan. I still remember how surprised I was! There are actually so many ways to get between these two cities, and each one feels totally different. At first, I thought it would just be a simple train ride, but I quickly realised I had options like the super fast KTX, long-distance buses, even flights, and private taxis. As someone from Malaysia, I found it quite similar to how we travel between KL and Penang~ But in Korea, everything is just more efficient and well-connected.
If you’re planning your own trip, don’t worry. In this guide, I’ll break down all the main transport options from Seoul to Busan, including travel time, cost, and which one actually makes the most sense depending on your budget and travel style.
🚄 Seoul to Busan by KTX Train
If there’s one option I would recommend for most travelers going from Seoul to Busan, it’s definitely the KTX high-speed train. This is the fastest, most convenient, and also the most popular way locals and tourists travel between the two cities. I personally found this option super smooth! No stress with airport check-in, no long waiting time, just board the train and relax while watching Korea’s countryside pass by😁.

This is by far the fastest way compared to bus or flight (if you include airport transfer time).

Located in Myeongdong, it's an older five-star hotel. Because it's an older five-star, the building is a bit low-rise and not very prominent in Myeongdong (as a person bad with directions, I had to use navigation every time to get back to the hotel).
The Airport Limousine Bus 6701 goes directly there, which is super convenient!
Across from the hotel: There's a 7-Eleven and GS25 if you use the underground passage.
Next door, there's an emart24.
Facilities: Well-equipped.
Cleanliness: Good.
Ambiance: Stylish, but the corridor outside the room had a slightly unpleasant smell.
It's very close to Lotte Department Store, and Shinsegae Department Store isn't far either; Shinsegae is a bit better for shopping.
Service: Polite and enthusiastic.

If you're staying in Myeongdong, I highly recommend this established hotel. The subway entrance is right downstairs, and there's a bus stop just across the street. Lotte Department Store is also right next door. The location is absolutely unbeatable! The cleanliness and service are excellent, and the staff are not only good-looking but also very gentle. This is a decent hotel, right next to Shinsegae Department Store, and directly outside Exit 7 of Hoehyeon Subway Station. There's a large ramp leading up to the lobby on the first floor, but you have to go to the seventh floor to check in. It seems like there's a police station building nearby with an escalator that takes you right to the lobby entrance.
The hotel gave me a room on a higher floor, the 25th floor, which I believe is the top floor for guest rooms, but it was a corner room. The room layout was a bit odd; the room itself wasn't very big, with not much space beyond the bed, but the bathroom was exceptionally large, almost the same size as the room. There was a connecting door to the adjacent room, which was a suite. From the layout, this room seemed designed as a maid's room for the adjoining suite. When I complained about the corner room to the front desk, I was told that all rooms of this type are corner rooms, likely due to the design. Those who dislike corner rooms should consider this carefully.
The mattress in the room was exceptionally high. Before arriving, I had requested a baby crib, but the hotel didn't reserve one for me that day and instead provided a rail. This rail was hard to describe – it made little difference from having nothing at all. There's a tablet by the bed that controls the mattress and air conditioning. You can directly order bath towels, water, ice, etc., and even send text requests to the front desk.
The hotel appears to be a recommended hotel by LV. Upon check-in, I received an invitation to the LV exhibition, where you could get an LV canvas bag at the Shinsegae LV exhibition across the street. Overall, the hotel is quite good, with medium value for money.DariRM1,079

I always used to do my 'hotelcation' at Lotte, but this time I stayed at the Grand Hyatt, and it was an excellent choice! 🫶👍 I regret not coming to the Hyatt sooner, honestly. Haha.
True Wellness Point 1: The location and views are perfect for a quiet hotelcation and refreshing stay. 🫶 Even if it costs more, absolutely make sure to book a Namsan view or Han River view room! There's no need to wait in line at crowded cafes or rooftop cafes in the heat; you can relax in your room and fully enjoy a cafe-like atmosphere. If you convert time into money, this is much more reasonable. 🍀 Cafes in the central Hannam-dong area typically charge 5,500 to 7,500 KRW for an iced Americano. Hotel guests can buy an iced Americano from the 1st-floor deli for 6,500 KRW. ❤️
Wellness Point 2: There's a walking path connected to Namsan, so you can take a stroll after breakfast or even walk to Namsan Tower along the trail. ⭐ Truly the best! 🤗 Another great tip 👉 If you exit through the side path in the parking lot to the left of the hotel's main entrance (instead of the main entrance itself), you'll find Korean restaurants, convenience stores, and rooftop cafes. If the breakfast feels a bit too rich, you can easily balance it with some Korean food. ✨ The central commercial area of Hannam-dong, Itaewon, and Haebangchon are all within basic taxi fare distance, which is very convenient. 🫶
Wellness Point 3: If outdoor activities are too difficult in the heat, you can visit the Leeum Museum of Art right in front of the hotel to enjoy an exhibition and find some mental relaxation.
Downsides: If I had to find any, the gym gets crowded. You need to be quick for breakfast. And if you go to the deli shop late in the afternoon, the salads are often sold out.DariRM1,388

The room itself isn't very big, but the location is great; it's convenient to get anywhere by taxi. The service was decent. There's a coffee shop right next to the lobby on the first floor, but the music there is quite loud. The air conditioning in the room was also a bit noisy. The room was really tiny. Whatever you do, don't buy any package deals, like the one for Petite France – it's incredibly far, like an hour and a half to two hours away, and you can't even get a refund. It doesn't really feel like a five-star hotel; more like a four-star. You can walk to Myeongdong in about 20 minutes from the hotel by taking the underground passage straight from Dongdaemun. But I found Korea to be quite run down, with power lines everywhere. Unless you're a big K-pop fan or love concerts, a trip to Korea can be pretty disappointing.

My stay perfectly matched my expectations for The Shilla Seoul; if you're looking for an old-money vibe, this is a great fit.
Hardware-wise, for a hotel with some history, it felt newer than I anticipated, and the crystal chandelier in the lobby is absolutely stunning.
The room size was just right, with a wet and dry bathroom featuring a separate shower and bathtub.
The windows and the view from the room are a major highlight. Even though my room this time didn't face Namsan Tower, it was still excellent.
You'll need to bring your own toothpaste and toothbrush, but cotton swabs and shower caps are provided.
The mini-fridge, snacks, and minibar are all chargeable.
In terms of service, from getting out of the car to reaching my room, it met the high standards of a five-star hotel. The front desk staff spoke excellent English, and one even spoke Chinese to me during checkout (though I don't expect all of them to).
This time, I also made sure to try the Room Service. The menu is in the desk drawer, and you can order using the in-room phone. The fried chicken and fries were very good; the portion was easily enough for two people or more.
Regarding amenities, the bakery on the first floor of the hotel was bustling, mostly with local Koreans. I thought the taste was good, and the salt bread was particularly nice.
The hotel lobby was almost always full, and there were constant business meetings and events happening on the left side, so you see a continuous stream of locals.
The hotel offers a free shuttle bus, but you need to check the schedule carefully. Since I didn't use it, I can't offer advice.
On either side of the hotel are Aesop and Moynat stores, and Shilla Duty Free is just a five-minute walk away.
If your itinerary is well-planned and not rushed, staying at The Shilla is a great choice. It's not far to get to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seochon, Bukchon, Myeongdong, Seongsu-dong, and Hannam-dong by taxi from here. However, if you're trying to pack a lot into your schedule and rely mainly on the subway, it might not be as suitable. Seoul traffic can be quite bad.
Personally, I would consider staying at The Shilla again. The service experience was very satisfying.DariRM2,302

The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the room was spacious. I also appreciated that they asked for my preference between a bathtub or a shower room during check-in.
This was my first time staying in Yongsan, and the location was incredibly convenient. The biggest plus was being directly connected to the station (no getting wet on the way back to the hotel, even in the rain!) and having a large shopping mall, iPark Mall, at the same station. I loved being able to shop for clothes and goods (like Muji) there. I'll definitely be back to explore more of Yongsan!DariRM595

The hotel's location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk to the subway station, Lotte Duty Free, and Cheonggyecheon Stream, with plenty of cafes and bakeries nearby. The staff were very helpful and communication was quick. The main entrance has stairs, and there's a small slope leading to the back entrance, but the signs aren't very clear, which can be a bit inconvenient if you're lugging suitcases. I have mentioned that it was my husband’s 60th birthday and the other day was our 25th marriage anniversary. We purposely booked a room with lounge access.
Thanks for the Korean treats on day of arrival (birthday). However I thought we would have another surprise gift (for anniversary). Something like a card would have been good as a token of gesture.
The room had small window and the Mountain View was half blocked by rooftop downstairs. It’s worse than normal rooms we’ve booked in other IHG hotels.
In general there should be a separate towel placed on the bathroom floor for after bath. However there wasn’t one at Voco.
The lounge was not as expected. The food/snack and beverages provided were very limited. Same thing everyday, basically all biscuits.
At breakfast buffet section, it was far too crowded. Being a hotel with so many rooms, a bigger buffet section should be set aside. Moreover items to choose were also limited. On our last day, there’re not even enough plates and we had to use bowls for food (eg. cold cuts).Regarding fruits, there’re only oranges, pineapples, kiwis and melons. Same thing everyday.
Room - overall clean.

First off, the hotel's location is fantastic. It's really close to both the number 2 and 3 subway stations Ⓜ️, and the 6015 airport bus goes directly to the hotel, which is a huge plus! I understand that hotels in Korea don't provide toothpaste and toothbrushes for environmental reasons, and that's fine. However, we stayed for three days, and they didn't even bother to replace our slippers, which were as thin as paper. After three days, the slippers were literally falling apart – that's a bit much, don't you think? As for cleanliness, there was a layer of dust on the bathroom shelf that we had to clean ourselves. The location is fantastic! As soon as you exit the hotel and turn right, you're right in the Myeongdong shopping street – you could spend a whole day there and still not see everything. You can even see N Seoul Tower from the hotel room window. The facilities are a bit old though; some buttons are broken and haven't been replaced. There are continuous protests happening right outside the entrance, seemingly from people laid off during the pandemic. I remember them being there two years ago when I last visited. Location of hotel is a 5 mins walk from the DDP station. Convenient to take bus to myeongdong as it’s only a few stops away and takes less than 15 minutes. However if going to take the line 2, will need to walk through line 5 to change so it can be a bit taxing at the end of the day as it’s a long walk with many stairs.
There is an airport bus 6001 from incheon airport to beton hotel and from the bus stop near CJ company back to the airport. Advice is to be there at least 5-10 mins early before the scheduled time as there may be a short queue and prepare cash or have enough money in the tmoney card. The bus tends to be filled before even reaching Myeongdong and takes about 1.5 hours to the airport.
Hotel room itself is comfortable for 2 medium luggage’s and bathroom is small. Make up room can be done daily but they only change the sheets after the 3rd day. Amenities, towels and water are replenished everyday.
Overall it’s a decent location for the price if you want to save money as it’s not too far away from the shopping areas like myeongdong, seongsu, and Hongdae.DariRM428

Overall, a great stay! The hotel has a charming vintage vibe, but the rooms are fully equipped with modern amenities like air conditioning, a well-appointed bathroom, and international standard sockets. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. Even though we arrived before check-in, they kindly stored our luggage so we could go out and explore Myeongdong shopping street unburdened. I had an excellent 6-night stay at ENA Suite Hotel Namdaemun. The hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of City Hall Station, Namdaemun Market, Deoksugung Palace, and many restaurants and convenience stores. It was very convenient for sightseeing and using public transportation throughout Seoul.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, especially by Seoul standards. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was well maintained, and housekeeping did a great job every day. The in-room amenities and reliable Wi-Fi made the stay even more enjoyable.
What impressed me most was the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. They were always helpful, courteous, and willing to assist whenever needed.

My husband and I had an amazing experience staying at Skypark Hotel 3 in Myeongdong! We stayed here for 12 days, and it was the best decision ever. The rooms are clean, and the service and staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful, and super polite. They also offer amenities like drinking water, weighing scale for your luggages, and coin laundry.

The hotel is highly automated with self check-in/out. Amenities are requested via kiosks or robots and come quite fast. My kid loved the robot coming to the room and the moving dinosaur in the lobby. They don’t change the bed linen every day, an after housekeeping on my second day, the hotel slippers were taken away and not replaced, plus you need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste.
The location is very convenient, close to many restaurants and shopping streets, right opposite a 7-Eleven, and about a 10-minute walk to Shinsegae Duty Free, which is the meeting point for many guided tours booked online (GetYourGuide, Klook, KKDay, SeoulPass, Trip.com, etc.).

My first stay here. I stayed at other hotels in Myeongdong before. Airport bus doesn't stop in front of the hotel as the hotel is by the alley. Bus 6701 stops in front of Plaza Hotel which is across the main street. About 5 minutes walk, if you know your way. I was a bit lost when I first got there but going back to take airport bus was a breeze. Location wise, many restaurants by Thomas hotel with 7-11 just few steps away. Lots of cafes around (well, this is Seoul! So many cafes, big and small) ABOUT 10 to 15 minutes walk to Shinsegae and Namdaemun and Lotte. The location is quiet, if you don't like the bustling and noisy main Myeongdong area. I booked the room that is 22sq meter. Good for 2 people. They clean your room every day. Washer and dryer on 12th floor if you need to wash your clothes. Plus there is a microwave oven and a big water machine (with cold and hot mode) in the laundry room. They do provide 2 bottles of bottle water each day. And free luggage storage at the lobby if you checked out and need to go walk around before you head to airport.

I've been to Seoul many times, and each time I've chosen good hotels, but I always felt there was a mismatch between the price and the amenities. This time, however, choosing this hotel finally gave me the feeling of staying in a luxury establishment. The service was excellent; everyone was polite and attentive. Because the weather was so cold, I didn't even want to go out, and the room service I ordered several times was delicious! Plus, the price was very reasonable for a five-star hotel. I highly recommend the steak jjajangmyeon and the galbi-jjim (braised short rib) rice! The location is good, directly opposite of the lake and next to Lotte world mall. To MTR it’s 5-7mins.
The front desk staff is not accommodative at all, any request is like „no, we can’t“ attitude.
As of the cleanness and amenities, first of all, the shower head did not work properly, the aircon did not work during the first night ( better the second and third) and the tooth brush glass had stains when I checked in ( see photo attached )

Oliver recommended and assisted us to book a nice dinner venue for my family at Seokparang. He even initiated to assist me in booking a cab.
Mason helped us with the luggage. He even took initiative to ask us for our airport transfer car plate number so he can keep a lookout for us. He even initiated to ask us to sit inside the hotel lobby while he kept a lookout for us. As he understood we are rushing to catch the flight, he even helped us to translate to the cab uncle to hurry for us.
All of them speak fluent English, are very warm hearted and takes initiative in offering excellent service with genuine smiles. Our hearts are deeply grateful to them. 5 star 🌟 because of them.
4 star for the rooms don’t have Netflix. It would be great if the family can gather over Netflix entertainment. Small issue though as the service more than cover up for everything! :) We were offered a nice river view which was romantic! Very clean hotel.

I stayed at this hotel while visiting Korea for a health check-up at Korea University Guro Hospital, and my first impression was excellent thanks to the incredibly kind front desk staff. Since I needed to drink a lot of water for my colonoscopy preparation, they generously provided plenty of bottled water and showed such warm hospitality throughout my stay.
I stayed in Room 803, and the small private balcony with a beautiful city view was absolutely wonderful. I stayed with my mother, and the bedding was so clean and comfortable that I was able to forget my worries about the health check-up the next day and sleep very peacefully.
Another thing I really appreciated was the taxi stand located right outside the hotel. Since I did not have a Korean phone number, it was difficult to call Kakao Taxi, so having taxis readily available made everything so convenient. It only cost about 5,800 won to comfortably get to Korea University Guro Hospital.

I stayed in a standard double room two days ago, and compared to that, the VIP twin room was much more spacious. It had a small balcony with a sofa. The standard double room was a bit old. The twin room I stayed in was on the seventh floor and seemed to be newly renovated. It even had a dryer inside. The mini-fridge was restocked daily with two bottles of mineral water, Coke, Sprite, and a can of chips (a bit salty), all free of charge. There was an ice machine and a microwave in the hallway. A shuttle bus to Myeongdong departs daily from right next to the main entrance. You can order takeout directly to the lobby. To get to GS25, take the elevator to the first floor, turn right, exit, and cross the road. Turn left from the hotel entrance and walk straight for CU. From CU, walk a bit further and turn right for the subway station, which is about 300-400 meters from the hotel – quite convenient. Given the reasonable price and the new rooms, I'd recommend it. The hotel is located near Myeongdong and is accessible by airport bus, about a 5-10 minute walk away. It's closer to Subway Line 3, but quite a distance from Subway Line 2. Shinsegae Duty Free is about a 30-minute walk. There's a GS25 downstairs, which is convenient for grabbing breakfast.
We booked a triple room and chose it based on photos that showed a sofa, but there wasn't one in the actual room. Felt a bit misled, but due to the language barrier, I didn't bother trying to clarify. The soundproofing isn't great, and the toilet seat was smaller than the toilet, which was a bit odd. The room was cleaned daily, and water and tea bags were replenished.

This hotel is located right in the bustling Myeongdong area, which is super convenient. There's a convenience store right at the entrance, and at least four more nearby. Downstairs, you'll find an Olive Young, making it easy to grab cosmetics. OV Town is about 500 meters away and pretty big! There's a large night market downstairs with tons of food options. I booked a deluxe twin room, and it was incredibly spacious for two people. We could easily spread out all four of our suitcases. The location is fantastic! Subway Lines 2 and 4 are right nearby, making it super convenient for getting around. Myeongdong Lotte, Myeongdong Shinsegae, and the Myeongdong shopping street are all within easy reach. Plus, the airport shuttle bus stop is less than a five-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. There's a Korean lady at the front desk who speaks excellent Chinese, and another Chinese lady, so communication was a breeze. The lobby has a free coffee machine and popcorn, and the doorman works quite late. You need to use your key card to access the guest floors, which made me feel very secure. Facilities: The room was very clean and tidy, and the city view outside the window had a unique Korean charm ✨. I really enjoyed watching the railway below, with subways passing by and lovely yellow flowers – it was so beautiful ✨ (some reviews mentioned noise, and there is a bit, but the beautiful view makes it worth it 🤭; personally, it didn't affect my sleep).
There's a CU convenience store right downstairs, where I bought some really cute fridge magnet souvenirs. It was also a great option for a late-night snack every day 😋. Plus, there's a Haidilao hotpot restaurant on the hotel's mezzanine level 🤣, perfect if you're not a fan of Korean food. Downstairs, there's also a bus stop with direct buses to Incheon Airport.
Across the street from the hotel, you'll find 인생네컷 (Life Four Cuts photo booth), Olive Young, Mega Coffee, and a jewelry store with walls full of earrings, among others. Just across the road from the hotel entrance is a food street; every place looked so delicious as I walked by 😭. Unfortunately, I was traveling alone this time, and with most places serving BBQ and potato and pork bone soup, I didn't get to try them.
Located in Yeouido, it's very convenient to get to Hangang Park and Hongdae. Other attractions aren't far by taxi either. The front desk lady even proactively helped me call a taxi, which I really appreciated!DariRM362

Here's a recap of my stay at the Seoul Riviera Hotel.
The address is 737 Yeongdong-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Even though I booked two months in advance, I ended up booking during a price surge. I paid 4330 KRW for 4 nights, which was basically over 1000 KRW per night. Usually, it's around 500-600 KRW. This time, there were a lot of people in Seoul for concerts, which drove hotel prices up three or four times. The hotel I stayed at last time in Seoul also had its prices hiked by several hundred.
Since there were three of us, I booked a standard room for three, with one double bed and one single bed. The room was relatively small, but it was quite clean, and the hotel staff were all very nice. We stayed for 4 consecutive nights, and it was very quiet, so the overall experience was good.
Here's the transportation information:
The airport bus 6006 goes directly to the hotel. You get off at the Riviera Hotel stop, which is right in front of the hotel entrance. You can enter the hotel directly, no need to walk even a minute, which is excellent.
How to take the airport bus to Incheon Airport? The hotel front desk had two diagrams: one for the airport bus timetable directly to Incheon Airport, and another showing where to catch the bus. From the main hotel entrance, turn right and walk straight to the first crosswalk. Cross the street, and you'll see a Starbucks. The bus stop is right in front of Starbucks, about a 5-minute walk. The entire journey takes less than 2 hours.
The nearest subway station is Cheongdam Station, about a 7-minute walk.
Because the hotel is in Gangnam-gu, close to Apgujeong, we walked to Apgujeong. It took about 20-30 minutes, strolling and looking around. We took a public bus to Hannam-dong, which was also very convenient.
The hotel also seemed to have a hot spring, but we didn't have time to go. There's also a particularly delicious 24-hour Korean restaurant near the hotel.DariRM304

There was one downside: my iPhone charger went missing. I reported it to the front desk, and the next day, while I was out, they supposedly found the charger under the sofa, even though I hadn't unplugged it from the wall. Overall, the cleanliness seemed decent, but otherwise, in China, it's on par with a Hanting or Atour.
Lobby:
The first-floor lobby seems to double as something else, making it a bit noisy.
The Korean men at the counter are visibly well-groomed and speak English well, but the service is far from that of a five-star hotel.
Location:

The Incheon Airport Bus 6001 takes you directly to the hotel in just over an hour. If you have a lot of luggage, I highly recommend taking the bus as it's quite convenient. We stayed for 4 nights and overall had a mixed experience. The hotel has a good location for exploring Seoul and the rooms are comfortable enough for a short stay. The staff were a real highlight — very friendly, helpful, and all spoke excellent English, which made communication very easy.
However, housekeeping was inconsistent and cleanliness did not always meet the standard expected from a 4-star hotel. We also had issues with basic amenities not being replenished, such as shower gel.
We had also expected a room with a view of N Seoul Tower, but this did not happen, which was truly disappointing for us.

There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, but it's a bit far from the subway, making it inconvenient to get to tourist attractions. The hotel facilities are dated; the TV is as small as a computer monitor, and the toilet isn't a smart one. On our first night, the toilet clogged twice, and the repairman couldn't fix it. It was overflowing with water in the middle of the night, forcing us to switch rooms. Mr. Li at the front desk provided excellent service. Noise alert for City view rooms: Construction outside the hotel. Even when vehicles pass by the street you will heard the noise whole night. I’m at 17 floors still can hear the noise. Not for light sleepers.

4200 RMB for three nights, the weekend prices are really high. But honestly, it felt more like a budget hotel equivalent in China at best; the room was tiny.
Regarding hygiene, I'd say the cleaning was okay, and things were washed okay. However, for items like duvets, they definitely just throw everything into one wash, so we used our own disposable sheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers. We also wiped down all doorknobs and similar surfaces with alcohol wipes to disinfect them.
The location is super convenient, very close to the subway station, about a 2-minute walk. There's a GS25 and a 7-Eleven nearby, plus lots of eateries, though unfortunately, we were always busy shopping and didn't get to try them. I recommend GS25; they have a great selection of items.DariRM471

This really looks like a resort hotel. The front desk staff's English isn't great, and the location is a bit out of the way – there aren't even any convenience stores or supermarkets nearby. It's quite close to the Dongbusan outlet mall though.
The entire hotel complex is very fancy and huge. The parking lot is massive and luxurious, but there are so many cars... Check-in is on the 10th floor, and there were no bellhops or any signs to guide us.
After checking in, no one told us where our room was, they just gave me a map... It took us half an hour to find it, circling around the hotel. I didn't see any staff during that time, and I was getting pretty annoyed.
The room itself is quite large, but both the room and public areas show clear signs of wear and tear (lots of dirty marks on the walls, poorly maintained).
The view is great though; you can see the ocean from the balcony and even catch the sunrise, although the angle is a bit off :)
What I found most unacceptable was that the body wash/shampoo was just soap. It lathered up incredibly slowly and barely produced any suds. With my normal length but somewhat thick hair, just getting it to lather took me 15 minutes! It seriously prolonged my shower time. A truly awful experience.
If you don't mind these things or bring your own toiletries and just care about the view, then this place is for you – the scenery is unbeatable. But all in all, I don't think it's worth the price. It's a hotel that's all style and no substance.DariRM1,862

I had a pleasant stay at Lotte Hotel Busan. The location is extremely convenient, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and public transport, making it a great base for exploring Busan.

It's about a 10-15 minute walk to both Haeundae Subway Station and the Mipo Station for the Capsule Train, which is very convenient. However, there can be some noise at night from motorcycle groups downstairs.
The standard twin room, while not large, is very clean. You'll need to bring your own disposable toothbrush, shower cap, soap, comb, etc. However, bathrobes, hangers, and disposable slippers are provided.

This Toyoko Inn is really a mixed bag.
The good points are that it's very close to the beach and the room rate is cheap. A single room for just over 300 [currency unit] and you can walk to the beach in five minutes. Downstairs, they offer free combs, facial cleanser, makeup remover, and lotion.
The downsides are that it's extremely crowded. When I checked in, it was fully booked. The elevators are incredibly slow – there are 4 elevators for 22 floors, and they seem to stop on almost every floor. The breakfast was the worst out of all the Toyoko Inns I've stayed at! There's hardly anything to eat, and it's incredibly noisy because of the crowds. I'd recommend skipping it and finding something to eat outside. The cleanliness wasn't great either; I found a hair on the toilet when I checked in.
This time I encountered heavy rain in Busan. Luckily, I didn't spend a fortune on the hotel, otherwise, I'd be heartbroken about paying for a sea view room.DariRM263

Great hotel if you need to get to the airport quickly but not much else nearby. The park near the river is quite beautiful in Spring though. The rooms were clean and massive by Korean standards. Some rooms have a giant bath too, and a hanging dryer for damp clothes.

Stayed at UH Suite The Haeundae and honestly, I’d totally recommend it to friends. The beachfront room is 100% worth it; waking up to the ocean view right in front of you is such a vibe, especially in the morning and at sunset.

Took the local bus from Incheon (5h+ ride) which put me near Jungdong station. The hotel was about a 10min walk away. Great location, closest bus stop is about a 2min walk away and easy to get to the rest of Busan. 5min walk to the beach. Haeundae station itself is about a 10min walk away, and so is the Haeundae Intercity bus stop. Haeundae market is about 5min away, so accessible but away from the crowds. My room had a sofa and desk and a toilet, separate from the shower. The hotel has a sauna with four pools, two lukewarm with massage functions and one hot and one cold pool. It also has two steam rooms and they offer massage and scrub services for a fee. Guests get complimentary access but you have to request the ticket at the reception and bring soap and shampoo when you use the sauna (also available for purchase at reception). Sauna is open until 9pm (8.20pm last entry) but the room also gets hot spring water piped to it. Toiletries are available for purchase from the vending machines (or just grab them from the nearest convenience store or Daiso) The washer/dryer in the hotel was fast (~45min each cycle) and dried my clothes very well. There's a sky lounge on the 20th floor but I didn't use it. There was no breakfast offered at the time I stayed.DariRM339

This feels like a luxury hotel, but the substance is lacking…
1. **No in-room phone.** If I wanted to call the front desk, I had to use my own phone to find the number in the booklet and dial it.
2. **Low floors are… well.** The 'ocean view' was useless. Some building's water tank and a Holly's coffee shop blocked most of it. I had to crawl on the floor, taking 5,000 photos, to get just one decent shot. So, if you're on a low floor, you'll have to crawl to see the ocean! Okay, maybe this is my fault for not paying more for a higher floor. BUT, the room photos in the introduction made it seem like there was an unobstructed ocean view, which feels like a scam. There weren't many hotel reviews, so I couldn't have known. I feel cheated.
3. **The biggest problem is privacy.** The toilet faces a window, and the jacuzzi and shower are also in front of full-length windows. Since it's a low floor, you can make eye contact with people in the cafe across the street. My bathroom breaks, showers, and jacuzzi use could all be public! I don't know if the windows are meant to be covered, but it felt very awkward. I had to keep the blinds fully down to use the bathroom and jacuzzi, which defeats the purpose of an 'ocean view' and felt very stifling. They told me not to close the jacuzzi window because of humidity, but the shower is right there, and I almost froze showering!
Seriously, you'd think they'd put more thought into the design, even beyond the ocean view…
4. **The room is so big, but there are no mirrors anywhere** you’d expect one! Only the bathroom mirror, which made doing makeup and getting dressed in the morning incredibly inconvenient.
5. **I used a barrier-free room, but as an able-bodied person, I didn't feel any consideration for disabled guests.** Even I, a seasoned traveler in my 20s, had trouble distinguishing between the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I almost ran out of hot water in the shower trying to figure it out. The labels are tiny and on the back somewhere, so you have to really search. Couldn't they use dedicated bottles or at least proper labeling?
6. **There's no room service or similar services, but other services are expensive.** Maybe I just couldn't find it, but usually, hotel F&B services are in the in-room booklet, aren't they? There was nothing. Okay, maybe because it's a lower-star hotel, it wouldn't have it. BUT, late check-out extension costs 33,000 won (which isn't cheaper than other luxury hotels). So, the standard doesn't reach luxury hotel levels, but the service fees feel comparable to one. Breakfast also felt similar, so I didn't use it.
Considering all of this, if you're just looking for a cost-effective place, it's okay.DariRM422

Breakfast Tip: I recommend skipping the hotel breakfast package. The restaurant is on the 24th floor, meaning you have to wait for the elevator to go up, and then wait again to get back down to the lobby to start your day. You’ll save money and time by eating at one of the many local spots nearby.

Metro: About a 7–8 minute walk to Nampo Station.
Shopping: Very close to Lotte Shopping Mall and the famous Gwangbok-ro Shopping Street.

This hotel is centrally located and next to metro station. We stayed here for 2 nights. Our stay coincide with the Busan Sand Festival. The event is within walking distance from our hotel. There are amazing large scale sand sculptures by international artists. There are many restaurants to choose from.
The only setback with this hotel is there are only 4 lifts serving 42 floors. The waiting time can be more than 5 minutes.

I had a truly pleasant stay at the Hari Busan Hotel and can warmly recommend it overall. The location is perfect for exploring Busan – many attractions, restaurants, and the beach are within easy reach. I especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere despite the central location.

Songjeong Station on the Beach Train is within 5 minutes on foot.
The train passes right in front of the hotel, so you can see it from 9:30.
When I went from the night of the 28th to 3/1, the motorcycle noise was loud outside, so I couldn't sleep (it's not the hotel's fault..).
The bed was hard, but the room was clean. It was good to stay with my child.
It's about a 15-minute walk to Songjeong Beach,
but it was quiet, so it was nice. There are raw fish restaurants and grilled clam restaurants on the beach side,
and there are many restaurants and cafes in the direction of Gudeokpo.
It's far from the city center, but I highly recommend it to those who want quiet.

THE GOOD
It's important to understand that this is an affordable hostel with a view but is not as fancy as it may seem in the photos. You're not going to get a luxury, super-comfortable stay with a bay view at this low of price. Speaking of the view, it's very nice during the day and at night from the top floor breakfast room and the bay view rooms on the levels right below it. Speaking of breakfast, you do have to cook the eggs yourself, but there are three burners and some other good food options, too. We also had a great experience with the staff at the reception desk, who were friendly, helpful, and apologetic about any issues. The WiFi was good, with a modem and router in each room. The location is great, too, if you love shopping streets, street food, fish markets, wharfs, and a more locals side of Busan. Access to the subway and buses is incredible, so you can get over to Haeudae Beach, Gwangali Beach, Dadaepo Beach, Gamcheon Culture Village, Busan Station (for trains to Seoul and Gyeongju), and more, but if you want to frequent Haeudae, it's kind of a long haul from here.
THE NOT-SO-GOOD
Our bay view room was a bit gimmicky, because while the view was nice, the room is quite small, has flimsy furniture, and lacks hooks (except the one in the window where the sun will fade your clothes). The wall of windows is cool to look through, but in May, we had the curtains closed 99% of the time because the south-facing room gets blasted by the sun and the AC isn't powerful enough to counteract it. The room was in need of maintenance, too, with ruined flooring due to a poor bathroom door design and things starting to fall apart in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, if you need 100% total privacy, it may not work for you. The shade over the very large window is barely sufficient in its thickness, and it has a two-inch gap on either side where you can see down to the street 9 stories below (see photo). You have to stand in a specific spot in the bathroom while showering with the handheld showerhead in order to feel entirely private, and you have to be very careful to not spray the leaky door. The front desk staff were very kind and even called a taxi to the airport for me.

Cleanliness & Environment: The hostel is generally quiet, and the cleanliness is excellent – super clean!

Across from the hotel: There's a 7-Eleven and GS25 if you use the underground passage.

This is a decent hotel, right next to Shinsegae Department Store, and directly outside Exit 7 of Hoehyeon Subway Station. There's a large ramp leading up to the lobby on the first floor, but you have to go to the seventh floor to check in. It seems like there's a police station building nearby with an escalator that takes you right to the lobby entrance.
The hotel gave me a room on a higher floor, the 25th floor, which I believe is the top floor for guest rooms, but it was a corner room. The room layout was a bit odd; the room itself wasn't very big, with not much space beyond the bed, but the bathroom was exceptionally large, almost the same size as the room. There was a connecting door to the adjacent room, which was a suite. From the layout, this room seemed designed as a maid's room for the adjoining suite. When I complained about the corner room to the front desk, I was told that all rooms of this type are corner rooms, likely due to the design. Those who dislike corner rooms should consider this carefully.
The mattress in the room was exceptionally high. Before arriving, I had requested a baby crib, but the hotel didn't reserve one for me that day and instead provided a rail. This rail was hard to describe – it made little difference from having nothing at all. There's a tablet by the bed that controls the mattress and air conditioning. You can directly order bath towels, water, ice, etc., and even send text requests to the front desk.
The hotel appears to be a recommended hotel by LV. Upon check-in, I received an invitation to the LV exhibition, where you could get an LV canvas bag at the Shinsegae LV exhibition across the street. Overall, the hotel is quite good, with medium value for money.DariRM1,079

It doesn't really feel like a five-star hotel; more like a four-star. You can walk to Myeongdong in about 20 minutes from the hotel by taking the underground passage straight from Dongdaemun. But I found Korea to be quite run down, with power lines everywhere. Unless you're a big K-pop fan or love concerts, a trip to Korea can be pretty disappointing.

My stay perfectly matched my expectations for The Shilla Seoul; if you're looking for an old-money vibe, this is a great fit.
Hardware-wise, for a hotel with some history, it felt newer than I anticipated, and the crystal chandelier in the lobby is absolutely stunning.
The room size was just right, with a wet and dry bathroom featuring a separate shower and bathtub.
The windows and the view from the room are a major highlight. Even though my room this time didn't face Namsan Tower, it was still excellent.
You'll need to bring your own toothpaste and toothbrush, but cotton swabs and shower caps are provided.
The mini-fridge, snacks, and minibar are all chargeable.
In terms of service, from getting out of the car to reaching my room, it met the high standards of a five-star hotel. The front desk staff spoke excellent English, and one even spoke Chinese to me during checkout (though I don't expect all of them to).
This time, I also made sure to try the Room Service. The menu is in the desk drawer, and you can order using the in-room phone. The fried chicken and fries were very good; the portion was easily enough for two people or more.
Regarding amenities, the bakery on the first floor of the hotel was bustling, mostly with local Koreans. I thought the taste was good, and the salt bread was particularly nice.
The hotel lobby was almost always full, and there were constant business meetings and events happening on the left side, so you see a continuous stream of locals.
The hotel offers a free shuttle bus, but you need to check the schedule carefully. Since I didn't use it, I can't offer advice.
On either side of the hotel are Aesop and Moynat stores, and Shilla Duty Free is just a five-minute walk away.
If your itinerary is well-planned and not rushed, staying at The Shilla is a great choice. It's not far to get to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seochon, Bukchon, Myeongdong, Seongsu-dong, and Hannam-dong by taxi from here. However, if you're trying to pack a lot into your schedule and rely mainly on the subway, it might not be as suitable. Seoul traffic can be quite bad.
Personally, I would consider staying at The Shilla again. The service experience was very satisfying.DariRM2,302

I have mentioned that it was my husband’s 60th birthday and the other day was our 25th marriage anniversary. We purposely booked a room with lounge access.
Thanks for the Korean treats on day of arrival (birthday). However I thought we would have another surprise gift (for anniversary). Something like a card would have been good as a token of gesture.
The room had small window and the Mountain View was half blocked by rooftop downstairs. It’s worse than normal rooms we’ve booked in other IHG hotels.
In general there should be a separate towel placed on the bathroom floor for after bath. However there wasn’t one at Voco.
The lounge was not as expected. The food/snack and beverages provided were very limited. Same thing everyday, basically all biscuits.
At breakfast buffet section, it was far too crowded. Being a hotel with so many rooms, a bigger buffet section should be set aside. Moreover items to choose were also limited. On our last day, there’re not even enough plates and we had to use bowls for food (eg. cold cuts).Regarding fruits, there’re only oranges, pineapples, kiwis and melons. Same thing everyday.

First off, the hotel's location is fantastic. It's really close to both the number 2 and 3 subway stations Ⓜ️, and the 6015 airport bus goes directly to the hotel, which is a huge plus! Location of hotel is a 5 mins walk from the DDP station. Convenient to take bus to myeongdong as it’s only a few stops away and takes less than 15 minutes. However if going to take the line 2, will need to walk through line 5 to change so it can be a bit taxing at the end of the day as it’s a long walk with many stairs.
There is an airport bus 6001 from incheon airport to beton hotel and from the bus stop near CJ company back to the airport. Advice is to be there at least 5-10 mins early before the scheduled time as there may be a short queue and prepare cash or have enough money in the tmoney card. The bus tends to be filled before even reaching Myeongdong and takes about 1.5 hours to the airport.
Hotel room itself is comfortable for 2 medium luggage’s and bathroom is small. Make up room can be done daily but they only change the sheets after the 3rd day. Amenities, towels and water are replenished everyday.
Overall it’s a decent location for the price if you want to save money as it’s not too far away from the shopping areas like myeongdong, seongsu, and Hongdae.DariRM428

The hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of City Hall Station, Namdaemun Market, Deoksugung Palace, and many restaurants and convenience stores. The hotel is highly automated with self check-in/out. Amenities are requested via kiosks or robots and come quite fast. My kid loved the robot coming to the room and the moving dinosaur in the lobby. My first stay here. I stayed at other hotels in Myeongdong before. Airport bus doesn't stop in front of the hotel as the hotel is by the alley. Bus 6701 stops in front of Plaza Hotel which is across the main street. About 5 minutes walk, if you know your way. The location is quiet, if you don't like the bustling and noisy main Myeongdong area. I booked the room that is 22sq meter. Good for 2 people. They clean your room every day. Washer and dryer on 12th floor if you need to wash your clothes. Plus there is a microwave oven and a big water machine (with cold and hot mode) in the laundry room. They do provide 2 bottles of bottle water each day. And free luggage storage at the lobby if you checked out and need to go walk around before you head to airport.

The front desk staff is not accommodative at all, any request is like „no, we can’t“ attitude.

He even initiated to ask us to sit inside the hotel lobby while he kept a lookout for us. As he understood we are rushing to catch the flight, he even helped us to translate to the cab uncle to hurry for us.

I stayed at this hotel while visiting Korea for a health check-up at Korea University Guro Hospital, and my first impression was excellent thanks to the incredibly kind front desk staff. Since I needed to drink a lot of water for my colonoscopy preparation, they generously provided plenty of bottled water and showed such warm hospitality throughout my stay.
I stayed in Room 803, and the small private balcony with a beautiful city view was absolutely wonderful. I stayed with my mother, and the bedding was so clean and comfortable that I was able to forget my worries about the health check-up the next day and sleep very peacefully.
Another thing I really appreciated was the taxi stand located right outside the hotel. Since I did not have a Korean phone number, it was difficult to call Kakao Taxi, so having taxis readily available made everything so convenient. It only cost about 5,800 won to comfortably get to Korea University Guro Hospital.

The twin room I stayed in was on the seventh floor and seemed to be newly renovated. It even had a dryer inside. The mini-fridge was restocked daily with two bottles of mineral water, Coke, Sprite, and a can of chips (a bit salty), all free of charge. There was an ice machine and a microwave in the hallway. A shuttle bus to Myeongdong departs daily from right next to the main entrance. You can order takeout directly to the lobby. To get to GS25, take the elevator to the first floor, turn right, exit, and cross the road. Turn left from the hotel entrance and walk straight for CU. From CU, walk a bit further and turn right for the subway station, which is about 300-400 meters from the hotel – quite convenient. Given the reasonable price and the new rooms, I'd recommend it. We booked a triple room and chose it based on photos that showed a sofa, but there wasn't one in the actual room. Felt a bit misled, but due to the language barrier, I didn't bother trying to clarify. The soundproofing isn't great, and the toilet seat was smaller than the toilet, which was a bit odd. The room was cleaned daily, and water and tea bags were replenished.

Here's a recap of my stay at the Seoul Riviera Hotel.
The address is 737 Yeongdong-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Even though I booked two months in advance, I ended up booking during a price surge. I paid 4330 KRW for 4 nights, which was basically over 1000 KRW per night. Usually, it's around 500-600 KRW. This time, there were a lot of people in Seoul for concerts, which drove hotel prices up three or four times. The hotel I stayed at last time in Seoul also had its prices hiked by several hundred.
Since there were three of us, I booked a standard room for three, with one double bed and one single bed. The room was relatively small, but it was quite clean, and the hotel staff were all very nice. We stayed for 4 consecutive nights, and it was very quiet, so the overall experience was good.
Here's the transportation information:
The airport bus 6006 goes directly to the hotel. You get off at the Riviera Hotel stop, which is right in front of the hotel entrance. You can enter the hotel directly, no need to walk even a minute, which is excellent.
How to take the airport bus to Incheon Airport? The hotel front desk had two diagrams: one for the airport bus timetable directly to Incheon Airport, and another showing where to catch the bus. From the main hotel entrance, turn right and walk straight to the first crosswalk. Cross the street, and you'll see a Starbucks. The bus stop is right in front of Starbucks, about a 5-minute walk. The entire journey takes less than 2 hours.
The nearest subway station is Cheongdam Station, about a 7-minute walk.
Because the hotel is in Gangnam-gu, close to Apgujeong, we walked to Apgujeong. It took about 20-30 minutes, strolling and looking around. We took a public bus to Hannam-dong, which was also very convenient.
The hotel also seemed to have a hot spring, but we didn't have time to go. There's also a particularly delicious 24-hour Korean restaurant near the hotel.DariRM304

4200 RMB for three nights, the weekend prices are really high. But honestly, it felt more like a budget hotel equivalent in China at best; the room was tiny.
Regarding hygiene, I'd say the cleaning was okay, and things were washed okay. However, for items like duvets, they definitely just throw everything into one wash, so we used our own disposable sheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers. We also wiped down all doorknobs and similar surfaces with alcohol wipes to disinfect them.

This really looks like a resort hotel. The front desk staff's English isn't great, and the location is a bit out of the way – there aren't even any convenience stores or supermarkets nearby. It's quite close to the Dongbusan outlet mall though.
The entire hotel complex is very fancy and huge. The parking lot is massive and luxurious, but there are so many cars... Check-in is on the 10th floor, and there were no bellhops or any signs to guide us.
After checking in, no one told us where our room was, they just gave me a map... It took us half an hour to find it, circling around the hotel. I didn't see any staff during that time, and I was getting pretty annoyed.
The room itself is quite large, but both the room and public areas show clear signs of wear and tear (lots of dirty marks on the walls, poorly maintained).
The view is great though; you can see the ocean from the balcony and even catch the sunrise, although the angle is a bit off :)
What I found most unacceptable was that the body wash/shampoo was just soap. It lathered up incredibly slowly and barely produced any suds. With my normal length but somewhat thick hair, just getting it to lather took me 15 minutes! It seriously prolonged my shower time. A truly awful experience.
If you don't mind these things or bring your own toiletries and just care about the view, then this place is for you – the scenery is unbeatable. But all in all, I don't think it's worth the price. It's a hotel that's all style and no substance.DariRM1,862

This Toyoko Inn is really a mixed bag.
The good points are that it's very close to the beach and the room rate is cheap. A single room for just over 300 [currency unit] and you can walk to the beach in five minutes. Downstairs, they offer free combs, facial cleanser, makeup remover, and lotion.
The downsides are that it's extremely crowded. When I checked in, it was fully booked. The elevators are incredibly slow – there are 4 elevators for 22 floors, and they seem to stop on almost every floor. The breakfast was the worst out of all the Toyoko Inns I've stayed at! There's hardly anything to eat, and it's incredibly noisy because of the crowds. I'd recommend skipping it and finding something to eat outside. The cleanliness wasn't great either; I found a hair on the toilet when I checked in.
This time I encountered heavy rain in Busan. Luckily, I didn't spend a fortune on the hotel, otherwise, I'd be heartbroken about paying for a sea view room.DariRM263

Took the local bus from Incheon (5h+ ride) which put me near Jungdong station. The hotel was about a 10min walk away. Great location, closest bus stop is about a 2min walk away and easy to get to the rest of Busan. 5min walk to the beach. Haeundae station itself is about a 10min walk away, and so is the Haeundae Intercity bus stop. Haeundae market is about 5min away, so accessible but away from the crowds. My room had a sofa and desk and a toilet, separate from the shower. The hotel has a sauna with four pools, two lukewarm with massage functions and one hot and one cold pool. It also has two steam rooms and they offer massage and scrub services for a fee. Guests get complimentary access but you have to request the ticket at the reception and bring soap and shampoo when you use the sauna (also available for purchase at reception). Sauna is open until 9pm (8.20pm last entry) but the room also gets hot spring water piped to it. Toiletries are available for purchase from the vending machines (or just grab them from the nearest convenience store or Daiso) The washer/dryer in the hotel was fast (~45min each cycle) and dried my clothes very well. There's a sky lounge on the 20th floor but I didn't use it. There was no breakfast offered at the time I stayed.DariRM339

This feels like a luxury hotel, but the substance is lacking…
1. **No in-room phone.** If I wanted to call the front desk, I had to use my own phone to find the number in the booklet and dial it.
2. **Low floors are… well.** The 'ocean view' was useless. Some building's water tank and a Holly's coffee shop blocked most of it. I had to crawl on the floor, taking 5,000 photos, to get just one decent shot. So, if you're on a low floor, you'll have to crawl to see the ocean! Okay, maybe this is my fault for not paying more for a higher floor. BUT, the room photos in the introduction made it seem like there was an unobstructed ocean view, which feels like a scam. There weren't many hotel reviews, so I couldn't have known. I feel cheated.
3. **The biggest problem is privacy.** The toilet faces a window, and the jacuzzi and shower are also in front of full-length windows. Since it's a low floor, you can make eye contact with people in the cafe across the street. My bathroom breaks, showers, and jacuzzi use could all be public! I don't know if the windows are meant to be covered, but it felt very awkward. I had to keep the blinds fully down to use the bathroom and jacuzzi, which defeats the purpose of an 'ocean view' and felt very stifling. They told me not to close the jacuzzi window because of humidity, but the shower is right there, and I almost froze showering!
Seriously, you'd think they'd put more thought into the design, even beyond the ocean view…
4. **The room is so big, but there are no mirrors anywhere** you’d expect one! Only the bathroom mirror, which made doing makeup and getting dressed in the morning incredibly inconvenient.
5. **I used a barrier-free room, but as an able-bodied person, I didn't feel any consideration for disabled guests.** Even I, a seasoned traveler in my 20s, had trouble distinguishing between the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I almost ran out of hot water in the shower trying to figure it out. The labels are tiny and on the back somewhere, so you have to really search. Couldn't they use dedicated bottles or at least proper labeling?
6. **There's no room service or similar services, but other services are expensive.** Maybe I just couldn't find it, but usually, hotel F&B services are in the in-room booklet, aren't they? There was nothing. Okay, maybe because it's a lower-star hotel, it wouldn't have it. BUT, late check-out extension costs 33,000 won (which isn't cheaper than other luxury hotels). So, the standard doesn't reach luxury hotel levels, but the service fees feel comparable to one. Breakfast also felt similar, so I didn't use it.

This hotel is centrally located and next to metro station. We stayed here for 2 nights. Our stay coincide with the Busan Sand Festival. The event is within walking distance from our hotel. The only setback with this hotel is there are only 4 lifts serving 42 floors. The waiting time can be more than 5 minutes.

It's about a 15-minute walk to Songjeong Beach,

THE GOOD
It's important to understand that this is an affordable hostel with a view but is not as fancy as it may seem in the photos. You're not going to get a luxury, super-comfortable stay with a bay view at this low of price. Speaking of the view, it's very nice during the day and at night from the top floor breakfast room and the bay view rooms on the levels right below it. Speaking of breakfast, you do have to cook the eggs yourself, but there are three burners and some other good food options, too. We also had a great experience with the staff at the reception desk, who were friendly, helpful, and apologetic about any issues. The WiFi was good, with a modem and router in each room. The location is great, too, if you love shopping streets, street food, fish markets, wharfs, and a more locals side of Busan. Access to the subway and buses is incredible, so you can get over to Haeudae Beach, Gwangali Beach, Dadaepo Beach, Gamcheon Culture Village, Busan Station (for trains to Seoul and Gyeongju), and more, but if you want to frequent Haeudae, it's kind of a long haul from here.
THE NOT-SO-GOOD
Our bay view room was a bit gimmicky, because while the view was nice, the room is quite small, has flimsy furniture, and lacks hooks (except the one in the window where the sun will fade your clothes). The wall of windows is cool to look through, but in May, we had the curtains closed 99% of the time because the south-facing room gets blasted by the sun and the AC isn't powerful enough to counteract it. The room was in need of maintenance, too, with ruined flooring due to a poor bathroom door design and things starting to fall apart in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, if you need 100% total privacy, it may not work for you. The shade over the very large window is barely sufficient in its thickness, and it has a two-inch gap on either side where you can see down to the street 9 stories below (see photo). You have to stand in a specific spot in the bathroom while showering with the handheld showerhead in order to feel entirely private, and you have to be very careful to not spray the leaky door. We also discovered that things that aren't used regularly can be dusty, and we found dust bunnies in the hallways. The bed also had a firm, squeaky spring mattress that didn't encourage the greatest sleep. If you're a backpacker or budget traveler like us, you'll find this place passable (especially for the price, location, and breakfast), but if you have normal hotel standards, this hostel may not meet them.DariRM125

It felt a bit like a Korean motel, but a lot of local Koreans were staying there too! The ground floor parking was super convenient. Apparently, there are quite a few Japanese guests as well!
The lobby had sofas, a free coffee machine, a microwave, and a hot water dispenser, all available 24/7.
Amenities like toothbrushes and razors were complimentary and available at the front desk.
The front desk staff were very kind and even called a taxi to the airport for me.
The water pressure in the room was great! In winter, the 'ondol' (underfloor heating) made it so warm I could just wear a camisole! I even had to open the window, haha. The bathroom wasn't super clean, but it was perfectly acceptable. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a good value stay!

Ease of Check-in: This hostel is conveniently located in Nampo-dong, close to Busan Station, making transportation very easy. Even arriving at Busan Station around 1 AM on check-in day, there was still a bus to the hostel, and there are direct airport buses nearby. The surrounding Nampo-dong commercial district offers super convenient options for dining, entertainment, and shopping.
Security: There's a dedicated area for female guests, requiring key card access for entry and exit. Rooms also have lockers with locks.
Facilities: I booked a 5-person room. Although not large, the room was very clean and bright. The beds had curtains, and the bedding was comfortable. There were plenty of power outlets and good lighting by the bed. While the hostel isn't huge, it's very cozy. The toilets and showers are quite spacious. Free breakfast is provided (it's simple, and you need to prepare it yourself). The kitchen is well-equipped with cutlery and cooking utensils. The water dispenser even has an ice-making function.
Cleanliness & Environment: The hostel is generally quiet, and the cleanliness is excellent – super clean!
Service: Most accommodations in Korea operate with self-check-in, and this hostel doesn't have a 24-hour front desk. However, the hostel consistently sends out emails to guests beforehand with detailed check-in guides and reminders, making the overall check-in process very smooth. The room key card also feels high-quality.

Located in Myeongdong, it's an older five-star hotel. Because it's an older five-star, the building is a bit low-rise and not very prominent in Myeongdong (as a person bad with directions, I had to use navigation every time to get back to the hotel).
The Airport Limousine Bus 6701 goes directly there, which is super convenient!
Across from the hotel: There's a 7-Eleven and GS25 if you use the underground passage.
Next door, there's an emart24.
Facilities: Well-equipped.
Cleanliness: Good.
Ambiance: Stylish, but the corridor outside the room had a slightly unpleasant smell.
It's very close to Lotte Department Store, and Shinsegae Department Store isn't far either; Shinsegae is a bit better for shopping.

This is a decent hotel, right next to Shinsegae Department Store, and directly outside Exit 7 of Hoehyeon Subway Station. There's a large ramp leading up to the lobby on the first floor, but you have to go to the seventh floor to check in. It seems like there's a police station building nearby with an escalator that takes you right to the lobby entrance.
The hotel gave me a room on a higher floor, the 25th floor, which I believe is the top floor for guest rooms, but it was a corner room. The room layout was a bit odd; the room itself wasn't very big, with not much space beyond the bed, but the bathroom was exceptionally large, almost the same size as the room. There was a connecting door to the adjacent room, which was a suite. From the layout, this room seemed designed as a maid's room for the adjoining suite. When I complained about the corner room to the front desk, I was told that all rooms of this type are corner rooms, likely due to the design. Those who dislike corner rooms should consider this carefully.
The mattress in the room was exceptionally high. Before arriving, I had requested a baby crib, but the hotel didn't reserve one for me that day and instead provided a rail. This rail was hard to describe – it made little difference from having nothing at all. There's a tablet by the bed that controls the mattress and air conditioning. You can directly order bath towels, water, ice, etc., and even send text requests to the front desk.
The hotel appears to be a recommended hotel by LV. Upon check-in, I received an invitation to the LV exhibition, where you could get an LV canvas bag at the Shinsegae LV exhibition across the street. Overall, the hotel is quite good, with medium value for money.DariRM1,079

If you convert time into money, this is much more reasonable. 🍀 Cafes in the central Hannam-dong area typically charge 5,500 to 7,500 KRW for an iced Americano. Hotel guests can buy an iced Americano from the 1st-floor deli for 6,500 KRW. ❤️
Wellness Point 2: There's a walking path connected to Namsan, so you can take a stroll after breakfast or even walk to Namsan Tower along the trail. ⭐ Truly the best! 🤗 Another great tip 👉 If you exit through the side path in the parking lot to the left of the hotel's main entrance (instead of the main entrance itself), you'll find Korean restaurants, convenience stores, and rooftop cafes. If the breakfast feels a bit too rich, you can easily balance it with some Korean food. ✨ The central commercial area of Hannam-dong, Itaewon, and Haebangchon are all within basic taxi fare distance, which is very convenient. 🫶
Wellness Point 3: If outdoor activities are too difficult in the heat, you can visit the Leeum Museum of Art right in front of the hotel to enjoy an exhibition and find some mental relaxation.

The room was really tiny. Whatever you do, don't buy any package deals, like the one for Petite France – it's incredibly far, like an hour and a half to two hours away, and you can't even get a refund. It doesn't really feel like a five-star hotel; more like a four-star. You can walk to Myeongdong in about 20 minutes from the hotel by taking the underground passage straight from Dongdaemun. But I found Korea to be quite run down, with power lines everywhere. Unless you're a big K-pop fan or love concerts, a trip to Korea can be pretty disappointing.

My stay perfectly matched my expectations for The Shilla Seoul; if you're looking for an old-money vibe, this is a great fit.
Hardware-wise, for a hotel with some history, it felt newer than I anticipated, and the crystal chandelier in the lobby is absolutely stunning.
The room size was just right, with a wet and dry bathroom featuring a separate shower and bathtub.
The windows and the view from the room are a major highlight. Even though my room this time didn't face Namsan Tower, it was still excellent.
You'll need to bring your own toothpaste and toothbrush, but cotton swabs and shower caps are provided.
The mini-fridge, snacks, and minibar are all chargeable.
In terms of service, from getting out of the car to reaching my room, it met the high standards of a five-star hotel. The front desk staff spoke excellent English, and one even spoke Chinese to me during checkout (though I don't expect all of them to).
This time, I also made sure to try the Room Service. The menu is in the desk drawer, and you can order using the in-room phone. The fried chicken and fries were very good; the portion was easily enough for two people or more.
Regarding amenities, the bakery on the first floor of the hotel was bustling, mostly with local Koreans. I thought the taste was good, and the salt bread was particularly nice.
The hotel lobby was almost always full, and there were constant business meetings and events happening on the left side, so you see a continuous stream of locals.
The hotel offers a free shuttle bus, but you need to check the schedule carefully. Since I didn't use it, I can't offer advice.
On either side of the hotel are Aesop and Moynat stores, and Shilla Duty Free is just a five-minute walk away.
If your itinerary is well-planned and not rushed, staying at The Shilla is a great choice. It's not far to get to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seochon, Bukchon, Myeongdong, Seongsu-dong, and Hannam-dong by taxi from here. However, if you're trying to pack a lot into your schedule and rely mainly on the subway, it might not be as suitable. Seoul traffic can be quite bad.
Personally, I would consider staying at The Shilla again. The service experience was very satisfying.DariRM2,302

This was my first time staying in Yongsan, and the location was incredibly convenient. The biggest plus was being directly connected to the station (no getting wet on the way back to the hotel, even in the rain!) and having a large shopping mall, iPark Mall, at the same station. I have mentioned that it was my husband’s 60th birthday and the other day was our 25th marriage anniversary. We purposely booked a room with lounge access.
Thanks for the Korean treats on day of arrival (birthday). However I thought we would have another surprise gift (for anniversary). Something like a card would have been good as a token of gesture.
The room had small window and the Mountain View was half blocked by rooftop downstairs. It’s worse than normal rooms we’ve booked in other IHG hotels.
In general there should be a separate towel placed on the bathroom floor for after bath. However there wasn’t one at Voco.
The lounge was not as expected. The food/snack and beverages provided were very limited. Same thing everyday, basically all biscuits.
At breakfast buffet section, it was far too crowded. Being a hotel with so many rooms, a bigger buffet section should be set aside. Moreover items to choose were also limited. On our last day, there’re not even enough plates and we had to use bowls for food (eg. cold cuts).Regarding fruits, there’re only oranges, pineapples, kiwis and melons. Same thing everyday.

First off, the hotel's location is fantastic. It's really close to both the number 2 and 3 subway stations Ⓜ️, and the 6015 airport bus goes directly to the hotel, which is a huge plus! I understand that hotels in Korea don't provide toothpaste and toothbrushes for environmental reasons, and that's fine. However, we stayed for three days, and they didn't even bother to replace our slippers, which were as thin as paper. After three days, the slippers were literally falling apart – that's a bit much, don't you think? As for cleanliness, there was a layer of dust on the bathroom shelf that we had to clean ourselves. The location is fantastic! As soon as you exit the hotel and turn right, you're right in the Myeongdong shopping street – you could spend a whole day there and still not see everything. There are continuous protests happening right outside the entrance, seemingly from people laid off during the pandemic. I remember them being there two years ago when I last visited. Location of hotel is a 5 mins walk from the DDP station. Convenient to take bus to myeongdong as it’s only a few stops away and takes less than 15 minutes. However if going to take the line 2, will need to walk through line 5 to change so it can be a bit taxing at the end of the day as it’s a long walk with many stairs.
There is an airport bus 6001 from incheon airport to beton hotel and from the bus stop near CJ company back to the airport. Advice is to be there at least 5-10 mins early before the scheduled time as there may be a short queue and prepare cash or have enough money in the tmoney card. The bus tends to be filled before even reaching Myeongdong and takes about 1.5 hours to the airport.
Hotel room itself is comfortable for 2 medium luggage’s and bathroom is small. Make up room can be done daily but they only change the sheets after the 3rd day. Amenities, towels and water are replenished everyday.
Overall it’s a decent location for the price if you want to save money as it’s not too far away from the shopping areas like myeongdong, seongsu, and Hongdae.DariRM428

I had an excellent 6-night stay at ENA Suite Hotel Namdaemun. The hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of City Hall Station, Namdaemun Market, Deoksugung Palace, and many restaurants and convenience stores. It was very convenient for sightseeing and using public transportation throughout Seoul.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, especially by Seoul standards. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was well maintained, and housekeeping did a great job every day. The in-room amenities and reliable Wi-Fi made the stay even more enjoyable.
What impressed me most was the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. They were always helpful, courteous, and willing to assist whenever needed.

The hotel is highly automated with self check-in/out. Amenities are requested via kiosks or robots and come quite fast. My kid loved the robot coming to the room and the moving dinosaur in the lobby. They don’t change the bed linen every day, an after housekeeping on my second day, the hotel slippers were taken away and not replaced, plus you need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste.
The location is very convenient, close to many restaurants and shopping streets, right opposite a 7-Eleven, and about a 10-minute walk to Shinsegae Duty Free, which is the meeting point for many guided tours booked online (GetYourGuide, Klook, KKDay, SeoulPass, Trip.com, etc.).

My first stay here. I stayed at other hotels in Myeongdong before. Airport bus doesn't stop in front of the hotel as the hotel is by the alley. Bus 6701 stops in front of Plaza Hotel which is across the main street. About 5 minutes walk, if you know your way. I was a bit lost when I first got there but going back to take airport bus was a breeze. Location wise, many restaurants by Thomas hotel with 7-11 just few steps away. Lots of cafes around (well, this is Seoul! So many cafes, big and small) ABOUT 10 to 15 minutes walk to Shinsegae and Namdaemun and Lotte. The location is quiet, if you don't like the bustling and noisy main Myeongdong area. I booked the room that is 22sq meter. Good for 2 people. They clean your room every day. Washer and dryer on 12th floor if you need to wash your clothes. Plus there is a microwave oven and a big water machine (with cold and hot mode) in the laundry room. They do provide 2 bottles of bottle water each day. And free luggage storage at the lobby if you checked out and need to go walk around before you head to airport.

I've been to Seoul many times, and each time I've chosen good hotels, but I always felt there was a mismatch between the price and the amenities. This time, however, choosing this hotel finally gave me the feeling of staying in a luxury establishment. The service was excellent; everyone was polite and attentive. Because the weather was so cold, I didn't even want to go out, and the room service I ordered several times was delicious! Plus, the price was very reasonable for a five-star hotel. I stayed at this hotel while visiting Korea for a health check-up at Korea University Guro Hospital, and my first impression was excellent thanks to the incredibly kind front desk staff. Since I needed to drink a lot of water for my colonoscopy preparation, they generously provided plenty of bottled water and showed such warm hospitality throughout my stay.
I stayed in Room 803, and the small private balcony with a beautiful city view was absolutely wonderful. I stayed with my mother, and the bedding was so clean and comfortable that I was able to forget my worries about the health check-up the next day and sleep very peacefully.
Another thing I really appreciated was the taxi stand located right outside the hotel. Since I did not have a Korean phone number, it was difficult to call Kakao Taxi, so having taxis readily available made everything so convenient. It only cost about 5,800 won to comfortably get to Korea University Guro Hospital.

I stayed in a standard double room two days ago, and compared to that, the VIP twin room was much more spacious. It had a small balcony with a sofa. The standard double room was a bit old. The twin room I stayed in was on the seventh floor and seemed to be newly renovated. It even had a dryer inside. The mini-fridge was restocked daily with two bottles of mineral water, Coke, Sprite, and a can of chips (a bit salty), all free of charge. There was an ice machine and a microwave in the hallway. A shuttle bus to Myeongdong departs daily from right next to the main entrance. You can order takeout directly to the lobby. To get to GS25, take the elevator to the first floor, turn right, exit, and cross the road. Turn left from the hotel entrance and walk straight for CU. From CU, walk a bit further and turn right for the subway station, which is about 300-400 meters from the hotel – quite convenient. Given the reasonable price and the new rooms, I'd recommend it. We booked a triple room and chose it based on photos that showed a sofa, but there wasn't one in the actual room. Felt a bit misled, but due to the language barrier, I didn't bother trying to clarify. The soundproofing isn't great, and the toilet seat was smaller than the toilet, which was a bit odd. The room was cleaned daily, and water and tea bags were replenished.

Here's a recap of my stay at the Seoul Riviera Hotel.
The address is 737 Yeongdong-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Even though I booked two months in advance, I ended up booking during a price surge. I paid 4330 KRW for 4 nights, which was basically over 1000 KRW per night. Usually, it's around 500-600 KRW. This time, there were a lot of people in Seoul for concerts, which drove hotel prices up three or four times. The hotel I stayed at last time in Seoul also had its prices hiked by several hundred.
Since there were three of us, I booked a standard room for three, with one double bed and one single bed. The room was relatively small, but it was quite clean, and the hotel staff were all very nice. We stayed for 4 consecutive nights, and it was very quiet, so the overall experience was good.
Here's the transportation information:
The airport bus 6006 goes directly to the hotel. You get off at the Riviera Hotel stop, which is right in front of the hotel entrance. You can enter the hotel directly, no need to walk even a minute, which is excellent.
How to take the airport bus to Incheon Airport? The hotel front desk had two diagrams: one for the airport bus timetable directly to Incheon Airport, and another showing where to catch the bus. From the main hotel entrance, turn right and walk straight to the first crosswalk. Cross the street, and you'll see a Starbucks. The bus stop is right in front of Starbucks, about a 5-minute walk. The entire journey takes less than 2 hours.
The nearest subway station is Cheongdam Station, about a 7-minute walk.
Because the hotel is in Gangnam-gu, close to Apgujeong, we walked to Apgujeong. It took about 20-30 minutes, strolling and looking around. We took a public bus to Hannam-dong, which was also very convenient.
The hotel also seemed to have a hot spring, but we didn't have time to go. There's also a particularly delicious 24-hour Korean restaurant near the hotel.DariRM304

Location:

4200 RMB for three nights, the weekend prices are really high. But honestly, it felt more like a budget hotel equivalent in China at best; the room was tiny.
Regarding hygiene, I'd say the cleaning was okay, and things were washed okay. However, for items like duvets, they definitely just throw everything into one wash, so we used our own disposable sheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers. We also wiped down all doorknobs and similar surfaces with alcohol wipes to disinfect them.
The location is super convenient, very close to the subway station, about a 2-minute walk. There's a GS25 and a 7-Eleven nearby, plus lots of eateries, though unfortunately, we were always busy shopping and didn't get to try them. I recommend GS25; they have a great selection of items.DariRM471

This really looks like a resort hotel. The front desk staff's English isn't great, and the location is a bit out of the way – there aren't even any convenience stores or supermarkets nearby. It's quite close to the Dongbusan outlet mall though.
The entire hotel complex is very fancy and huge. The parking lot is massive and luxurious, but there are so many cars... Check-in is on the 10th floor, and there were no bellhops or any signs to guide us.
After checking in, no one told us where our room was, they just gave me a map... It took us half an hour to find it, circling around the hotel. I didn't see any staff during that time, and I was getting pretty annoyed.
The room itself is quite large, but both the room and public areas show clear signs of wear and tear (lots of dirty marks on the walls, poorly maintained).
The view is great though; you can see the ocean from the balcony and even catch the sunrise, although the angle is a bit off :)
What I found most unacceptable was that the body wash/shampoo was just soap. It lathered up incredibly slowly and barely produced any suds. With my normal length but somewhat thick hair, just getting it to lather took me 15 minutes! It seriously prolonged my shower time. A truly awful experience.
If you don't mind these things or bring your own toiletries and just care about the view, then this place is for you – the scenery is unbeatable. But all in all, I don't think it's worth the price. It's a hotel that's all style and no substance.DariRM1,862

I had a pleasant stay at Lotte Hotel Busan. The location is extremely convenient, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and public transport, making it a great base for exploring Busan.

This Toyoko Inn is really a mixed bag.
The good points are that it's very close to the beach and the room rate is cheap. A single room for just over 300 [currency unit] and you can walk to the beach in five minutes. Downstairs, they offer free combs, facial cleanser, makeup remover, and lotion.
The downsides are that it's extremely crowded. When I checked in, it was fully booked. The elevators are incredibly slow – there are 4 elevators for 22 floors, and they seem to stop on almost every floor. The breakfast was the worst out of all the Toyoko Inns I've stayed at! There's hardly anything to eat, and it's incredibly noisy because of the crowds. I'd recommend skipping it and finding something to eat outside. The cleanliness wasn't great either; I found a hair on the toilet when I checked in.
This time I encountered heavy rain in Busan. Luckily, I didn't spend a fortune on the hotel, otherwise, I'd be heartbroken about paying for a sea view room.DariRM263

Took the local bus from Incheon (5h+ ride) which put me near Jungdong station. The hotel was about a 10min walk away. Great location, closest bus stop is about a 2min walk away and easy to get to the rest of Busan. 5min walk to the beach. Haeundae station itself is about a 10min walk away, and so is the Haeundae Intercity bus stop. Haeundae market is about 5min away, so accessible but away from the crowds. My room had a sofa and desk and a toilet, separate from the shower. The hotel has a sauna with four pools, two lukewarm with massage functions and one hot and one cold pool. It also has two steam rooms and they offer massage and scrub services for a fee. Guests get complimentary access but you have to request the ticket at the reception and bring soap and shampoo when you use the sauna (also available for purchase at reception). Sauna is open until 9pm (8.20pm last entry) but the room also gets hot spring water piped to it. Toiletries are available for purchase from the vending machines (or just grab them from the nearest convenience store or Daiso) The washer/dryer in the hotel was fast (~45min each cycle) and dried my clothes very well. There's a sky lounge on the 20th floor but I didn't use it. There was no breakfast offered at the time I stayed.DariRM339

This feels like a luxury hotel, but the substance is lacking…
1. **No in-room phone.** If I wanted to call the front desk, I had to use my own phone to find the number in the booklet and dial it.
2. **Low floors are… well.** The 'ocean view' was useless. Some building's water tank and a Holly's coffee shop blocked most of it. I had to crawl on the floor, taking 5,000 photos, to get just one decent shot. So, if you're on a low floor, you'll have to crawl to see the ocean! Okay, maybe this is my fault for not paying more for a higher floor. BUT, the room photos in the introduction made it seem like there was an unobstructed ocean view, which feels like a scam. There weren't many hotel reviews, so I couldn't have known. I feel cheated.
3. **The biggest problem is privacy.** The toilet faces a window, and the jacuzzi and shower are also in front of full-length windows. Since it's a low floor, you can make eye contact with people in the cafe across the street. My bathroom breaks, showers, and jacuzzi use could all be public! I don't know if the windows are meant to be covered, but it felt very awkward. I had to keep the blinds fully down to use the bathroom and jacuzzi, which defeats the purpose of an 'ocean view' and felt very stifling. They told me not to close the jacuzzi window because of humidity, but the shower is right there, and I almost froze showering!
Seriously, you'd think they'd put more thought into the design, even beyond the ocean view…
4. **The room is so big, but there are no mirrors anywhere** you’d expect one! Only the bathroom mirror, which made doing makeup and getting dressed in the morning incredibly inconvenient.
5. **I used a barrier-free room, but as an able-bodied person, I didn't feel any consideration for disabled guests.** Even I, a seasoned traveler in my 20s, had trouble distinguishing between the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I almost ran out of hot water in the shower trying to figure it out. The labels are tiny and on the back somewhere, so you have to really search. Couldn't they use dedicated bottles or at least proper labeling?
6. **There's no room service or similar services, but other services are expensive.** Maybe I just couldn't find it, but usually, hotel F&B services are in the in-room booklet, aren't they? There was nothing. Okay, maybe because it's a lower-star hotel, it wouldn't have it. BUT, late check-out extension costs 33,000 won (which isn't cheaper than other luxury hotels). So, the standard doesn't reach luxury hotel levels, but the service fees feel comparable to one. Breakfast also felt similar, so I didn't use it.

This hotel is centrally located and next to metro station. We stayed here for 2 nights. Our stay coincide with the Busan Sand Festival. The event is within walking distance from our hotel. There are amazing large scale sand sculptures by international artists. There are many restaurants to choose from.
The only setback with this hotel is there are only 4 lifts serving 42 floors. The waiting time can be more than 5 minutes.

When I went from the night of the 28th to 3/1, the motorcycle noise was loud outside, so I couldn't sleep (it's not the hotel's fault..).
The bed was hard, but the room was clean. It was good to stay with my child.
It's about a 15-minute walk to Songjeong Beach,
but it was quiet, so it was nice. There are raw fish restaurants and grilled clam restaurants on the beach side,
and there are many restaurants and cafes in the direction of Gudeokpo.
It's far from the city center, but I highly recommend it to those who want quiet.
If you're planning to go to Lotte World with your child, I highly recommend it (within 10 minutes by car).DariRM538

I booked it because of the reasonable price and the interior design, and it was exactly as I saw in the photos. My only regret was that the comforter wasn't in good condition. I mentioned this to the front desk the next day, and they were even more attentive and cleaned it thoroughly. The location was also great, near Yongdusan Park and Gukje Market. Nearest Exit Was Number 1 from KTX building. Crossed a small road then it will lead to Almond Hotel.
I love the open concept - bathtub (especially best for couples) and family. It will be awkward if stay with friends or parents.
The room is spacious and clean. It also has a standing corner where you can bath behind close door.
The reception staff do not really know English. So u need to do some homework before travel to Korea.
We find the breakfast is fine with us though not much choices. V simple.

We booked a double room, but the staff upgraded us to a twin room so that we could rest comfortably.

THE GOOD
It's important to understand that this is an affordable hostel with a view but is not as fancy as it may seem in the photos. You're not going to get a luxury, super-comfortable stay with a bay view at this low of price. Speaking of the view, it's very nice during the day and at night from the top floor breakfast room and the bay view rooms on the levels right below it. Speaking of breakfast, you do have to cook the eggs yourself, but there are three burners and some other good food options, too. We also had a great experience with the staff at the reception desk, who were friendly, helpful, and apologetic about any issues. The WiFi was good, with a modem and router in each room. The location is great, too, if you love shopping streets, street food, fish markets, wharfs, and a more locals side of Busan. Access to the subway and buses is incredible, so you can get over to Haeudae Beach, Gwangali Beach, Dadaepo Beach, Gamcheon Culture Village, Busan Station (for trains to Seoul and Gyeongju), and more, but if you want to frequent Haeudae, it's kind of a long haul from here.
THE NOT-SO-GOOD
Our bay view room was a bit gimmicky, because while the view was nice, the room is quite small, has flimsy furniture, and lacks hooks (except the one in the window where the sun will fade your clothes). The wall of windows is cool to look through, but in May, we had the curtains closed 99% of the time because the south-facing room gets blasted by the sun and the AC isn't powerful enough to counteract it. The room was in need of maintenance, too, with ruined flooring due to a poor bathroom door design and things starting to fall apart in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, if you need 100% total privacy, it may not work for you. The shade over the very large window is barely sufficient in its thickness, and it has a two-inch gap on either side where you can see down to the street 9 stories below (see photo). You have to stand in a specific spot in the bathroom while showering with the handheld showerhead in order to feel entirely private, and you have to be very careful to not spray the leaky door. We also discovered that things that aren't used regularly can be dusty, and we found dust bunnies in the hallways. The bed also had a firm, squeaky spring mattress that didn't encourage the greatest sleep. If you're a backpacker or budget traveler like us, you'll find this place passable (especially for the price, location, and breakfast), but if you have normal hotel standards, this hostel may not meet them.DariRM125

It felt a bit like a Korean motel, but a lot of local Koreans were staying there too! The ground floor parking was super convenient. Apparently, there are quite a few Japanese guests as well!
The lobby had sofas, a free coffee machine, a microwave, and a hot water dispenser, all available 24/7.
Amenities like toothbrushes and razors were complimentary and available at the front desk.
The front desk staff were very kind and even called a taxi to the airport for me.
The water pressure in the room was great! In winter, the 'ondol' (underfloor heating) made it so warm I could just wear a camisole! I even had to open the window, haha. The bathroom wasn't super clean, but it was perfectly acceptable. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a good value stay!
Access isn't too bad; there's a subway station nearby. Seomyeon is a 15-20 minute walk, so I'd recommend taking the subway.DariRM187

Ease of Check-in: This hostel is conveniently located in Nampo-dong, close to Busan Station, making transportation very easy. Even arriving at Busan Station around 1 AM on check-in day, there was still a bus to the hostel, and there are direct airport buses nearby. The surrounding Nampo-dong commercial district offers super convenient options for dining, entertainment, and shopping.
Security: There's a dedicated area for female guests, requiring key card access for entry and exit. Rooms also have lockers with locks.
Facilities: I booked a 5-person room. Although not large, the room was very clean and bright. The beds had curtains, and the bedding was comfortable. There were plenty of power outlets and good lighting by the bed. While the hostel isn't huge, it's very cozy. The toilets and showers are quite spacious. Free breakfast is provided (it's simple, and you need to prepare it yourself). The kitchen is well-equipped with cutlery and cooking utensils. The water dispenser even has an ice-making function.
Cleanliness & Environment: The hostel is generally quiet, and the cleanliness is excellent – super clean!
Service: Most accommodations in Korea operate with self-check-in, and this hostel doesn't have a 24-hour front desk. However, the hostel consistently sends out emails to guests beforehand with detailed check-in guides and reminders, making the overall check-in process very smooth. The room key card also feels high-quality.
