The Regal Hotel was the biggest surprise of our Greater Bay Area trip, exceeding all expectations! We arrived from Zhuhai via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and the A11 bus takes you directly to the hotel. For our return to mainland China, there's a CTS (China Travel Service) bus ticket office right next to the hotel entrance. You can buy tickets a day in advance for easy access to Shenzhen Port, Shenzhen Airport, and various cities in Guangdong. During our stay in Hong Kong, we walked to Sogo, Hysan Place, and Times Square, and there were plenty of dining options nearby. To get to Wan Chai Pier for the Star Ferry, you can catch a 'ding ding' tram right outside the hotel, and the MTR station is also very close, making getting around incredibly convenient. I stayed for ten days in Hong Kong for Chinese New Year, and overall the hotel was pretty good. The Chinese New Year decorations created a nice festive atmosphere. The room size was smaller than what you'd find in Beijing, but the bedding was comfortable and the bed was large enough. All the other amenities you'd expect were there. The Wi-Fi was fast enough and had excellent coverage.
The transportation around the hotel is convenient. There's a shuttle bus service to and from Shek Mun MTR station, or you can take it to the Royal Park Hotel to transfer to the East Rail Line at Sha Tin New Town Plaza. Just be sure to check the timetable. The A41 bus goes directly to the hotel from Hong Kong Airport or the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge port. You can also take bus 680 to reach areas like Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, and Admiralty on Hong Kong Island in about half an hour.
There aren't many restaurants nearby. For food, drinks, and other necessities, there's only a 7-Eleven downstairs, open from 7 AM to 11 PM. Otherwise, you'll need to go closer to Shek Mun station.
My only complaint about the room was the two spotlights above the headboard. One was a reading light that could be turned off independently, but the other was a direct room light that couldn't be turned off unless you switched off the main power, which was a really poor design. It was quite glaring when trying to watch TV in bed, a definite flaw in the hardware.
The housekeeping staff on my floor were excellent. Every time I saw them, they politely greeted guests and offered New Year wishes. The room cleaning was also very thorough, and they would add amenities according to the number of occupants. For environmental reasons, the hotel doesn't provide bottled water. Instead, they provide a glass carafe, and you fill it yourself from the water dispenser on the floor, which I thought was a good way to avoid excessive waste.

I loved the location of this hotel as it's not in the business district - much more of a local area, and awash with cheap, local eateries and coffee shops, but still just a few minutes walk to the seafront, and with lots of options to travel around the city. Sai Ying Pun MTR is a few minutes walk away, as are the local buses and trams.
Coming from the airport, there is a direct bus, the A10, which drops you off less than 5 minutes from the hotel. The Airport Express Coach and MTR are also options but involve a change so if you have luggage they're not so convenient.
The hotel itself is located on several floors, so other than during check-in and the service maids, I didn't encounter any staff. Lifts can get a bit busy, particularly during breakfast and check-out times. I didn't opt for breakfast preferring to eat right outside the hotel at one of the many local restaurants.
Staying just before Chinese New Year, I got a great price for three nights, and an amazing harbour view. I'd stay again despite the bathroom/toilet being very cramped. When sitting down my knees touched the bath in front of me.

Staying at The Langham again after 7 years, and the quality is still absolutely top-notch! Pictures 4-6 show the room from this stay, while 7-9 are from my 2019 visit. The rooms are even more spacious and bright now, with improved details too. The hotel truly demonstrates consistent service, which I really appreciate 👍. I chose this hotel primarily for its service and its location. The DFS Galleria next door leads directly to the MTR station, and you're surrounded by high-end brands and countless dining options.
