One overnight stay on the way to Cornwall. The hotel is quirky. Loved the little touches like fresh coffee in the room and dvds to borrow and watch. Parking available which is rare in Exeter. Room was cute and the bed super comfy. I can't believe people are complaining on here about a shared bathroom. Do you people read the room descriptions? Loved the row of cinema seats on the 1st floor. Will be back. Thank-you.

Stayed here for 4 nights in August with my husband as part of our break away. Will start with the positives first - room nice and clean, breakfasts really nice and lots to pick from, parking included and free access to the grounds. Now for the negatives - wedding on whilst we were there which consisted of a lot of noise until midnight on our last night which wasn’t ideal with a 6hr drive home the next morning. I completely appreciate a wedding being there as the place has lovely surroundings however we weren’t made aware of this when we booked and had we known we would have booked somewhere else as it was like a nightclub. Another massive issue was the guests staying in the same wing as us especially those in the room above ours. Constant banging of doors all day and night resulting in every night having broken sleep which was really frustrating. Did bring this up with the bar manager on our 3rd night as he was moving another guest at 10.30pm to a new room due to issues with theirs. The following morning the manager of the hotel did get in touch, offered to move us rooms which I declined due to having to move all our belongings and not actually being moved away from the noise that was to come with the wedding that day. I did explain how the experience whilst staying at the hotel had put a downer on our break and that I felt we had been ripped off. She went away and sorted a partial refund for us which is appreciated. As lovely as the place is, I really wouldn’t recommend it to anyone due to the issues we had making it impossible to actually get some sleep. Lastly I have never stayed anywhere where there is no staff available at night. They finish at 7/8pm and that’s it then till the next morning. This I feel is a little on the unsafe side of how to run things in case an emergency happens who can help??

What a great hotel - perfectly positioned for the theatre, restaurants and visiting the city/shops. Handily it also has free parking, first come first served. Our bedroom (we were upgraded on arrival) was very spacious and clean. It was especially nice to have armchairs in the room to make it more comfortable to sit and read without the need to perch on the bed or sit on the dressing table chair. The hotel provides a great choice at breakfast - fruit juice, yogurts, fruit, cereal, croissants etc as well as a great choice of hot options. More importantly to the enjoyment of our stay was that all the staff made us feel really welcome and did everything with genuine smiles. We loved it and will definitely stay here when we visit Plymouth again.

This is a very cheap hotel and with that in mind, you expect cheap. It's like a pot noodle. Don't expect much! The staff were friendly, this is a plus and they are helpful too. The food is good value if you need to eat there, it's location is not too bad and the rooms are a good size. Rooms are noisy because it's an old building that hasn't been maintained or updated much. The floors above sound like elephants stamping if the people above move around! This is fine till they go to the loo at 5am! The main issue is deep neglect. It's filthy, surface level clean yes, and this could fool you for a one night stay but they don't do any cleaning during stays, no wipe down of surfaces, no vacume, just change bins and refill the tea. The dust, grime, and rubbish around were poor. I took a video of the grime on the bathroom doorframe but can only upload the photo of the tissue after. In a few weeks of working on it, they could transform the place, but I didn't see any real effort to clean or spruce. One outside area is an overgrown garden full of flowers left to rot and covered in trash. Under our beds was rubbish that was not ours! Carpark is full of trash too. We didn't go to the staff for these things because they were livable and not really deal breakers at £35ish a night. We had better things to do than complain whilst away. But this is a basic and cheap hotel, and if you keep that in mind, it's fine. The free parking makes it cheaper than travel lodge, but they would win over cleaning! Towels and linen are not changed even for a week stay, we read to leave towels on the floor only when they need changing and we did that, leaving them 3 times in the week when they were dirty from things. As there is no shower mat, we had to use towels for that, but only hand towels were changed once at the start despite us leaving dirty towels out to be changed like the instructions stated. The person just threw them over the shower. Our first housekeeper for the first few days was notably better than the other, I could tell the person had changed! 3 mins walk is Ginos cafe, Torquay Fryer and corner shops. Rooms: Good size. No WiFi, one key. En suit bathroom with basic facilities. TV with terrestrial channels, hairdryer, fan, 2 chairs, one wardrobe and bedside table and a desk. Lots of plugs. Bedside lamp. Nearby activities: Best fish and chips at Torquay Fryer, a little gem of a place. Safety: The area is close to the police so it's relatively safe. Many homeless are in torquay and you will walk past the if you walk to town or seafront, some approach you for cash. But it's safe if you remember to keep your stuff close to you. Walkability: 15 to 20 minuets to town ( use Google maps) 3mins to some local restaurants and shops, close to a play park and police station. Close to Torre train station. 身後是David教堂和一小片墓碑，晚上到達看到確實有點害怕，不過白天參加了教堂活動，也理解了本地文化，還覺得挺有趣的culture shock，後來幾天還會為了抄近路從墓地穿行。

In an excellent location with a short walk to Plymouth Hoe the Old Pier House is a great place to stay. Wendy the landlady was Incredible. She was so welcoming and accommodating we were put at ease straightaway. The room was comfortable with a nice modern bathroom, good shower and plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was excellent with cereal, juices and fruit to complement a full English, vegetarian and egg on toast options.. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend a stay at Old Pier House if you need accommodation in Plymouth.

From arrival to departure, was a pleasure t o be there. The whole place, from communal area to bedrooms was decorated to a very high standard. Everywhere was spotless and the whole building smelled clean and fresh. My friend and I were made to feel very welcome on arrival. The room was well equipped and the beds were really comfy. Breakfast was plentiful and the 'Full English' was cooked to perfection!! I have already recommended to friends and if ever I need to stay in Plymouth again, I will be sure to return to Cassandra Guest House. Excellent all round. All the best and thank you - Michelle
