This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel and our fourth time in Hikka. We choose this hotel now for its proximity to the Reef for snorkelling. Access further south along the beach past this hotel is not possible now due to loss of the beach and rising sea. This hotel still has beach access and is in a great postion for beach, reef and all the nearby retaurants too. The hotel staff are lovely. Some reviews say that this is not true; we find if you smile and say ”Ayebowan” it raises a beautiful smile and opens conversation. Treat others as you wish to be treated I say. The staff at breakfast, inparticular, the regular egg chef, are so nice to chat with and they are very helpful too. The security staff and pool attendants are also exceptional in the service they provide. Thank you. We had a room on the 1st floor with a large enclosed terrace which suited our needs perfectly. You have a kettle with tea and coffee provided daily along with 2 small bottles of water. There is a fridge in the room for your use too. The bed is very large and comfy enough. The aircon was so good we didnt use it at night, we just used the ceiling fan. The bathrooms are dated, but we have found in all our hotel stays that this seems to be Sri Lankan charm. They still have everything you need and are clean. Shampoo and shower gel are provided. The pool is great. Maybe some more sun loungers might be useful now that more tourists are returnign to Sri Lanka. The bar lunch menu is good and drinks are not too expensive. We didnt eat in the evening this time. Last time we did and the food was very good. Breakfast buffet was good enough for our taste. We like to local offerings as well as eggs and fruit. No complaints at all about the selctions available. ...maybe hoppers every day! We will defintely return each year when we pass through Hikka. Until next time.

It was the amazing place i have visited. Had a great welcome from front line staff. Room is perfect and had a great view. Dinner and breakfast was amazing and very tasty. Breakfast bufet had a wide selection of western and local food. I requested to arrange a birthday cake at the breakfast time and they were arranged a tasty cake with special birthday surprise. Overall can be give 10 out of 10.

We stayed here as part of a 3 week tour around Sri Lanka which included several hotels, and Suite Lanka was a real stand out. The location is great, with both Galle & Colombo in easy reach. The position, with the beach just a few steps away from the rooms across the hotel’s private garden, means you can easily wander along the beach to choose where to eat. But that’s not really necessary as the food at Suite Lanka is delicious - fantastic fresh seafood and local dishes as you’d expect, but also more than enough options to satisfy different tastes. Our room was fab - large and airy, comfortably furnished, with the perfect view across the beach to the sea from the huge private balcony. And the staff did a great job of making sure we had a great time - from tweaking menu options to suit our individual tastes, to opening the TV room at 1:45am so I could watch a football match. They strike exactly the right balance between being there to help whenever needed and not being intrusive. After a busy couple of weeks exploring this lovely country, Suite Lanka was the perfect place to recharge, enjoying great food and service, and soaking up the very relaxed and luxurious feel.

Отель мягко говоря очень уставший,лифт не работает уже очень давно, Уборка в номере никакая, поменять полотенца надо просить, если их бросить на пол это не гарантирует замену, поднимут, сложат и положат на кровать… В сезон завтраки шведский стол и они неплохие, а вот в не сезон завтраки очень скудные… Кофе просто отвратительный, хуже мне не встречался нигде… Но все недостатки отеля перекрывает его расположение! Самый лучший пляж, прекрасный океан! А на все недостатки можно просто закрыть глаза и наслаждаться отдыхом! Кстати лежаков в отеле всего 10 штук, имейте в виду…

This is our second visit to Saffron Villas and it was like time had stood still. A warm friendly Sri Lankan welcome. The same faces, warm, helpful, discreet and kind. Just 5 rooms you feel you are staying in your own private villas. Lovely pool, delightful room. Direct access onto the most wonderful beach. Situated on the edge of town far enough away to feel peaceful but a walk away if you want more activity. The villas has been so beautifully and sympathetically restored and furnishings reflect that as does the artwork. Dining is simple. Bring your own alcohol. Fridge and kettle in rooms make all the difference for such a relaxed location. Definitely return visit in the diary.
