Hotel Amarillo dengan Gim

Hotel ini sangat besar dan terdapat agak ramai orang yang menginap semasa percutian Thanksgiving kami. Bilik ini cukup besar dan kemudahan asasnya cukup baru, tetapi terdapat lapisan skala nipis pada semua jenis kaca, yang mungkin berkaitan dengan kualiti air. Semasa tempoh covid, sarapan hotel adalah menghantar kotak pembungkusan dan pergi bersarapan seperti kantin. Terdapat pelbagai jenis donat, kek dan buah-buahan untuk makanan sejuk, dan telur hancur oatmeal, sosej dan kentang goreng untuk makanan panas. Hampir tiada tempat letak kereta percuma di hotel. Terdapat garaj di seberang jalan dengan bayaran 7 yuan sehari. Terdapat banyak (lebih daripada sepuluh) tempat letak kereta jalan di pintu. Ia percuma sepanjang hari pada hujung minggu dan malam pada hari bekerja.

The hotel and service was everything you would expect from a Marriott property. Staff was super friendly and attentive to any needs. Hotel is modern, clean, and up to date for a location that was built in 1927. Surprising good night life and several restaurants that are within walking distance of the hotel. Several right across the street. A very quiet pleasant stay. Didn't hear people coming or going from their rooms at all hours of the nights. I had a room that was next to the elevator and never heard it once and this was on a busy weekend. The only downfall with the property was a lack of pool/spa. So this may or may not be a deal breaker if you are trying to entertain kids.

Compared to other Hilton Gard Inn experiences, this was not quite as good. Not bad, but just not as good as usual. Biggest shortcoming was the amount of road noise, probably reflecting the fact that this is an older property built to different standards than the newer properties. There were a few minor issues where deep cleaning or minor touch ups would be an improvement, although daily cleaning was fine. Another annoyance is the HGI policy change a couple of years ago charging for breakfast, even for loyalty program members. This has resulted in our staying fewer nights at HGIs and more at other competitors.

We stopped for a driving break and found this hotel with easy access to the interstate. The rates were good and the hotel was very pleasant as was the staff. The breakfast was free and good. My extra request of a high floor and away from the elevator was honored.

Reception very helpful overall and met lots of friendly staff. (Shout out to the gentleman who's a huge Paul McCartney fan and made us all feel very welcome, thank you ever so much). On our last day, housekeeping knocks at 12:01 pm, our ”please don't disturb sign” hanging on the door. I tell her we asked for a late check out at 2pm. She says a not-so friendly ”o-kay” and she doesn't look very happy. A few minutes later, reception calls the phone and says they weren't made aware but confirms the late checkout. At 12.30, a different lady from housekeeping again knocks on our door and I say I just got a call from reception confirming a late check out at 2pm. She politely smiles and apologises and says she didn't know about that. Just a slight mishap in communication, I guess. (I'm aware that housekeeping don't go around holding apps to read every update in communication). Just that, we got at least two phone calls asking how our stay has been (which is nice) and on the second phone call the day before we were to check out, my husband mentioned the late check out request. With all the lovely attempts to check how our stay has been, I was just a bit surprise that our request was overlooked.

We loved our stay. They have remodeled and done a lot of updating inside and outside. This is a local family owed hotel. They also have great employees they were great and helpful. We will be back and we recommend to anyone staying in Amarillo.we have family in Amarillo so we stayed at a lot of different places and this was our favorite.

We were at this same hotel last year (2022) and the year before (2021) and the pool was closed this year it is still closed. It says it is under renovation. Over two years to renovate a pool?? Unlike the hotel we stayed at the previous night with a pool that has been closed over a year, at least this hotel doesn't list it has a pool on its website. You can use the one at the Fairfield that is 10 miles away in which you would need to use the busy interstate. They also did not have WiFi. They said they were waiting for someone to fix it. We had to use our phones. Good thing we had plenty of data left. Our room is a suite room. The living room side has a desk, desk chair wall lamp, TV and three drawers. There is also a couch, chair, end table, and table lamp. The bedroom side had a king bed, end tables on each end with two drawers, a TV, and ottoman and a chest of drawers with three drawers. It has a closet with an ironing board in iron. The bathroom has a large vanity. The toiletries are on the wall. They are Alice Co. On the vanity there is a small soap and make up remover. It also has a hair dryer.

Booked 2 rooms, both smelled like cigarette smoke

We knew we would be driving in from a long day trip so wanted a comfortable room so selected the suite. It has a separate bed room and It was worth it! Breakfast was hot and had a nice room atmosphere. Coffee was good.
