This is one of the most underwhelming Ws I’ve stayed and I’ve stayed at close to 20 of them worldwide. The service at the hotel is, at its very best, is a two star experience. The staff was very disjointed at check in, and didn’t even bother to acknowledge my status like they do at every other Marriott property. None of my room requests were completed, even though I checked in at a normal check in time. It was seriously like they did the opposite of everything I requested online. Let’s talk about the rooms where you don’t even have room to stretch your arms. They’re tiny, and you’ll trip into the bathroom the moment you open the front door. The rooms are also very noisy, and you can hear everything your neighbor’s doing. The rooms aren’t worth the price of admission, and leave a lot to be desired considering the price point. These rooms are more on the level of an AC or even a Moxy, but the price rivals a Ritz or a St. Regis for my other Bonvoy members. The elevators were tiny, and unbelievably slow, so I hope you’re not in a hurry to go anywhere. The only redeeming parts about this hotel is the location and they have a great steakhouse. Overall, unless you enjoy burning money for no reason, I’d caution you to be smarter than me and stay at different hotel. I’m a bonvoy member and this W property has been very disappointing. It’s definitely not like the W Rome so temper your expectations. Sorry for the essay, but I thought I’d give everyone some serious cautionary advice before booking here.

Hotel has an excellent location close the central train station. Many nice restaurants close to hotel. Many tourist destinations close. Hotel is good in most measurable ways. Staff is very professional and friendly. And, staff very helpful in arranging small details for business travelers (at least my experience). Rooms are clean and modern. Small but workable gym. Only negative is currently construction in front of the hotel.

What a high-quality hotel! Situated in a historical building at Dam Square, so it is super central, this hotel is amazing. We stayed in the hotel at Christmas and had diner in Michelin star rated Bougainville restaurant. The combination is just prefect! The reception at the hotel was warm en professional. We had a suite on the fourth floor, overlooking Dam Square. On arrival the butler was awaiting us at the elevator leading us to our suite. in the suite, a waitress waited for us with a cocktail, The suite was very luxurious, crystal clear and warm decorated. A bathroom with a spacious jacuzzi, double shower/sauna. The king size bed was just perfect to sleep well. Several pillows to choose from. Lights, air conditioner and temperature are to be adjusted by touchscreens. But what makes this hotel extra special is the service of every member of the staff. They really make the stay something special.

My partner and I stayed at INK hotel in Amsterdam in early July and to say that our stay was wonderful would be an enormous understatement! Not only is the hotel itself incredibly unique, creative and beautiful, the staff is unparalleled! Upon entering, we were greeted by Rob and Valerie who were both so welcoming, warm, informative and personable. It was my partner’s birthday during our stay and it was my desire to make it as special as possible. This was a daunting task as I am not familiar with Amsterdam nor do I speak Dutch. Thanks to Rob and Val, his birthday was a huge success! Val assisted me with the train routes, times and directions and both she and Rob provided me with creative ideas. Rob then made phone calls for me to inquire about reservations and tickets as I was having difficulty navigating websites written in Dutch. After a perfect day, we walked into a fabulously decorated hotel room with balloons, chocolate hearts, champagne, etc. It was absolutely amazing!! We have traveled around the globe, stayed in hundreds of hotels and never have we experienced such exceptional treatment by hotel staff!! We will definitely make sure to stay at INK on our next visit to Amsterdam and will recommend that all of our friends and family do as well. Thank you INK hotel for providing such excellence!!

The location of the hotel was good. It's walking distance from the central station and surrounded by many shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and the receptionist even walked me to the lift. However, the layout of the hotel was a little weird as the lift to my room was a small one in a corner next to the carpark entrance. Wasn't a good impression given the amount paid for the stay. The room was small but the decor was pleasing and very comfortable. The toilet was of a good size and the shower was relatively wide. Breakfast provided at the hotel was good.

Set right next to the best part of the city, Leidseplein which is very well connected to all the notable landmarks including walkable distance to both the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum as well as the famous Voldelpark. The hotel has very modern interiors and all the facilities to make ones stay comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious unlike the other European hotels. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. There are 100's of restaurants serving all types of food and all are within walking distance from the hotel. Getting to Dam Square which is the shopping hub and Amsterdam Central station is just a single tram ride. Overall, the hotel is very clean and comfortable and nothing can beat the convenient location of this hotel.

This is a lovely little hotel in a quiet part of town but in close enough distance to all the hustle and bustle you'd want as a tourist. The rooms are small, but they are charming and cosy nonetheless - exactly as advertised, to be honest. I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating - during my stay, I unfortunately took a fall in the city centre and went back to my hotel to rest, I notified the front desk that I was a bit shaken up and they very kindly checked up on me regularly to make sure I was OK. Thank you very much to the wonderful team at Linden Hotel for looking after me! I'll be back again soon :-)

They really thought of lots of lovely little things that make your stay fantastic... you walk in and there's wine gums on reception to feast on, you can take a Polaroid and clip it to the wall, postcards to send home, more wine gums on your bed & water bottles to refill with lovely flavoured water downstairs... so many lovely things. The area is perfect for getting around the entire city (with a nearby tram stop if your feet give out). And the hotel itself feels warm despite its grandeur -- definitely because the entire staff are amazingly kind and helpful -- including the wonderful people bringing your delicious breakfast or pouring the perfect drink after a day of museums! If your budget can stretch to afford this glorious place, it is truly top-notch and will make your stay in Amsterdam extremely comfortable. I honestly cannot recommend it enough! If you are looking for a luxury hotel with all the bells and whistles of 5 star service perhaps Canal House is not your kind of place. It's not cheap, but neither are any of the hotels in Amsterdam along the canals, with canal views. The hotel is located on the Keizergracht Canal, which is the second of three of the main canals of Amsterdam. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful canals. The location does not come cheap. We had a room called the ”Outstanding Room”. I chose this one because it definitely had a canal side view. It was very roomy (36 sq metres) and beautifully furnished in an open plan style. Those of you who want a closed off door to the bathroom might not go for the open plan design. The staff were fantastic on our visit in early September 2023. They carried our (very heavy) bags up the 3 narrow flights of stairs for us and brought them down for us when we checked out. The beautiful garden out the back is perfect for an afternoon drink. There is a small bar at the hotel which is great for a relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast is served in a buffet style. It is small in selection of items but everything on it is high quality (small producer yoghurt, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juice, freshly baked quiche and the pastries, coffee as you like it on demand, or tea if you prefer). The hotel is located very close to the Jordaan area, which is our favourite part of the city. It's full of excellent cafes and boutiques and has a far more local vibe to it than anything up around the touristy Dam Square area. The only negative that stops me giving a 5 star review is that the air conditioning struggles in Summer. I get it, the hotel is a very old traditional canal house that was not built for air conditioning. It is installed but really struggled to cool our room, especially with the beautiful big windows facing the morning sun. It's not going to stop us returning here as our favourite Amsterdam hotel though (just not from June - August). Other notable things to consider: The hotel is a five minute walk to Ann Frank's House. Yes, it's a 30 minute walk to the Rikjs Museum and Van Gogh Museum. We Ubered there very easily instead of walking. Dam Square is Tourist Central and a bit tacky. It's a 15 min walk away if you want to get there. I generally avoid that area. I prefer the genuine local character around Jordaan. Try Kessens for lunch/brunch. It's an excellent cafe 10 minutes walk away. Pesca is also excellent if you like a fish restaurant with a fun vibe (it's a 15 minute walk).

Be aware of the a well-designed process of this hotel that can your stay a nightmare. Me and my family came to Amsterdam for short vacation in July, not for the first time so I know what to expect there in terms of hotels standards etc. My wife and daughter came one day before me, and once arrived at the hotel and entered the room, they realized it was so hot and humid, that there was no chance they can stay there (especially in case one had high blood pressure or any kind of heart/health issue). Of course, they asked the front desk for any type of solution but there was no intention to solve this, what so ever (they were offered a fan). The only option they were left with was to book a different hotel in vicinity and move from there as soon as they can - this is how bad conditions were. With all the arguments we had, hotel had no intention to offer refund, voucher, discount or any other complimentary or symbolic token of appreciation. What became evident afterwards, is that this is a deliberate process, planned in advance - hotel sends an ”no air condition” email message just 1 or 2 days before the cancellation deadline to be formally correct and they have ”ready-made” answers. While I was trying to solve the issue next day, I've witnessed a young couple with a 6-month baby from West Virginia that had to check out a day earlier because of the same reason, and another guest concerned about the heat and trying to understand these conditions via a phone call - but the front desk agent ”reeled” him in to book, with no intention to warn about the inhumane conditions. All together, not just a terrible hotel but a case of although formally correct process, clearly deliberately misleading and situation that represents a health risk.

We recently visited Amsterdam for a 3 day trip and the Clemens Hotel was great! Centrally located and within walking distance of all tourist spots and shops. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. They took our bags to the room, greeted us with a complimentary beverage on arrival, lent us an adaptor for our phone charger and stored our bags on departure day with no fuss at all. We didn’t feel rushed and immediately felt at ease on arrival. The complimentary breakfast was lovely with scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, yoghurt and cereals on offer. We stayed in a room on the third floor which was a little small but very comfortable and clean with a lovely hot shower perfect after a day of exploring. The only negative I can see to this hotel is the very steep stairs, which we managed with but they would be a challenge for some. Overall a lovely stay and great hospitality. Thank you
