I came with 4 friends to work in the Netherlands. Firstly we were surprised by the fact we are going to stay in the hotel room for such a long time. Fortunately, the hotel personnel was very supportive and friendly all the time. The Guys from the reception were very nice and talkative. I was feeling welcomed there every single day. They were able to help us with every single issue we had during this one-month stay with a smile on their faces. To be honest, without them our stay couldn't be so pleasant as it was. The manager is a very nice lady, who took her time and asked us if we are feeling good in the hotel, if we don't need anything and if everything is alright. Conversations with her were interesting and inspiring for me. Guys from the kitchen prepared delicious food for us and we were satisfied. The hotel has a nice bar and lobby where you can sit with friends and refill energy. With housekeeping service, we were satisfied too. After a long day at work, we had our beds made, floor vacuumed, trash bins empty, and clean towels in the bathroom. This hotel is located near the metro, so it is very easy to move from there to the city. What I found very nice is a location near Gaasperpark. I enjoyed running and nature in this park. It is just a few meters from the hotel and that place filled me with peace. If you are going to stay in the hotel, I recommend you to visit this park at least once. The only thing I can do is to say one big THANK YOU for everything. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to stay in Amsterdam for a while.

This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed in during the last years. It is completely run down, dirty and filthy and all this for 220 Euros per night. We have stayed here for a congress with a bigger group and same impression for everyone. The rooms are super dirty and not sure if and when they have been cleaned, see pictures attached. You don’t want to touch anything, because it has this filthy feeling. Stains everywhere and sometimes you just don’t want to know what it is. The „fancy“ design shower in the middle of the room is completely useless, no temperature control. To get warm water, you need to go for full power. Afterwards all the floor is wet, nice to have water in the room. The sink, same here, not practical and water everywhere. Matress way to soft, bed with all kind of stains again. Aircon is horrible as well, super noisy and for sure never cleaned. Of course you can’t have any fresh air in the room. Two small and slow elevators for 18floors cause a mess and delay every morning. Lady during Check-in was asking when we want to have breakfast, we told her 7:30 - thanks for not telling that on Saturdays they don’t open before 8. Service in the bar mediocre as well, for how long can you ignore someone? Not sure what is going wrong in this hotel, but do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else, many nicer hotels around, unless you really fancy the view to Burger King and Kentucky Fried. Of course noone at Check-out wanted to even know how our stay has been. For sure they know the answer!

Stayed at the amazing Via Amsterdam recently. First impressions were great a lady helped us massively before arrival answering all our queries in reservations and was very helpful with tips of places to visit and getting tickets etc even very helpful travel tips from the airport. We came to check in and loved the place it’s about a 10 minute walk from the local station could be done quicker once you know the route. The whole reception lay out is huge, lots of seating, games area, even it’s own cinema area. We had a very nice gentleman on check in called Bart who was lovely, he helped us with directions, booking breakfast and dining tips. We dined in the Bar called the dude and had a couple of drinks. Bar is quite expensive but nice vibe only fault we found was a very limited restaurant menu choice, we did eat the burgers (no other choice) and they are recommended but you don’t want to eat the same thing every night. Rooms are spacious but quite sp**** could do with a table and a couple of chairs to be fair so you can sit and chat. Very clean and comfy beds. Showers only and a bit small but offer free shampoo and shower gel, no towels so bring your own. Breakfast was a bit of a poor show and could do with improvements. For the amount you pay it’s not worth it. You could go into Amsterdam and buy something better for cheaper. We had seen online people complaining about not being central but honestly it’s no issue there is a metro within walking distance and takes you directly into Amsterdam central in about 15 minutes and run regularly. Overall had an fantastic stay and would highly recommend to anyone. You cannot fault the place. I did have a nightmare after checkout tho and was my only complaint as I was overcharged and tried for nearly a month to get a refund from the manager jonannes who wouldn’t speak to me because apparently he was too busy (not the best customer service from a manager) I tried calling and emailing but he just wouldn’t reply or sort the problem and other poor staff tried to make excuses for it not being sorted sooner, it was eventually sorted by someone else but after such a good stay it did leave me feeling slightly disappointed. Hopefully he has improved his customer service by now as this does not reflect on how good this place actually is.

Great western Amsterdam is a very good hotel if you prefer to stay a little quiet area. It’s about 30 mins to get into Amsterdam central station and all the popular sight seeing places. The service provided by hotel staffs were generally very good. Room is spacious and clean also Highly recommended

Wonderful staff Yanick and Ilaria get name mentions! Wonderful room and view. Great location eve though it is not in the city but a simple two stops to Noord from Central Station. Beautiful spaces to relax in. Amazing breakfast! 10 out of 10!

Missed flight and booked here last minute. Was told its fully booked when arrived and so they upgraded me to the sister apartment hotel next door which shares the same building. Thanks for the Mercure front desk staff for your warm welcome which lights up my rough night a little 👍🏿 The apartment room is superb with high ceiling, full set of kitchenettes so u can cook and bake even with dish washers! Love the sofa and arm chair pick for the living room and very spacious shower space with good hot water pressure. Pretty sure this will make a great stay if u r spending a few more days and in group! Airport train station just across the street so ~15-20mins to airport, or can take bus 369 at the bus terminal across the bridge, great location in general! P.s. pretty sure u get to see the sunset from room view too!

Overall the hotel is perfectly adequate with tons of potential. Service could have been better (but could be partially cultural differences in communication). There were a lot of things left out of the initial check in with talking through amenities etc and extra towels being picked up by house keeping and not replaced. There were some big misses like carpet throughout all the rooms and guest common areas. The carpet was fluffy and looked dirty from crumbs most of the time, just not the right pick for a fairly nice brand and hotel. The room was also mission lotion and conditioner (which is their own hotel brand, which was a bit shocking). The rooms are way smaller than expected, and we expected small. The coffee in the common area was great, everyone was nice, albeit direct but there are some miscommunications with third party platforms sometimes about additional costs which were never mentioned by the third party platforms. ELLE has a near perfect location and is nice and cozy for a trip to Amsterdam.
