Micra Anglia Boutique Hotel & Spa

One of the best experiences we had in a hotel as a family. Our suite was very charming, comfortable and clean with two separate rooms each with its own shower and toilet. Location of the hotel and parking facilities superb. The staff was absolutely amazing. Extremely friendly and helpful. The highlight for us was breakfast time: amazing Greek breakfast of big variety and excellent quality, with local additions and varying every day. The staff was super attentive, they knew what we liked, how we ate our omelettes and they would even get out of their way to prepare something extra for the kids. We hugged when we left and we told me "Στο επανιδείν" ("See you again") because we will definitely go back!

The Micra Anglia is the perfect place to stay for a visit to Andros. It is just fifty yards from the main street and central square, yet we had no noise at night. The food was excellent and the staff in the restaurant and at reception could not have been more helpful. Andros is a beautiful place to visit for the able-bodied (there are quite a few steps) with good beaches, a historic town centre, plenty of places to eat, and a lighthouse that looked like it had been designed for a fantasy film. If you are planning to visit the oldest monastery on the island, we would recommend you take a guide as the road is a challenge, but I am sure the hotel could help with that. The hotel also has a small pool and a spa, which I am told by someone who used it was very good. In summary, an excellent place to stay.

We have family in the area, and needed a central place to stay for our family of four. We were thrilled with our suite with private pool. It was hard to leave! We especially loved the patio and pool in our suite, the kind people who worked at the hotel, and the amazing food at breakfast. We had a couple dinners there as well and they were also delicious. Great location in Chora with a 10 min walk to the beach. We’ll be back!

We had such a great 3 nights in Batsi that we were a little bit reluctant to come to Chora and the Micra Anglia - we shouldn't have been. First, location - unbeatable. You are literally steps from the phenomenally stunning main street of Chora so our kids could come and go and ramble around to their hearts content. There are beaches about 10 mins walk away at either end of the main street and you are also yards from a huge number of lovely bars and restaurants. Next, accommodation. Stunning. We stayed in the master suite around the corner which had two gorgeous bedrooms, a lovely little private pool, a nice living room, basically top notch and luxurious. Food - decent. I'd been expecting more from the breakfast given previous reviews but it was fine and service was super friendly. Lunch was delicious and the lady waitress particularly great. Spa - lovely atmosphere. My massage was great, my wife's was too hard and they messed up her back. All in all, this hotel is an absolute gem in probably the most delightful Greek island. We are very keen to return asap.

I rarely write reviews, but this really was one of the best hotel experiences we have had in 30+ years of international travel. The room was so clean and comfortable and also quiet. The staff were friendly and always helpful. And the breakfast buffet is amazing. We also dined one night at the hotel restaurant (Dollys Bar) and had a great meal. Thank you so much to everyone at Micro Anglia for making our vacation in Andros so memorable- we can't wait to come back. J and K.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in mid-April. It fully lives up to its appellation of Boutique. We believe it has just 9 rooms. It is located a short way (no more than a five minute walk with luggage) from the main street of Chora, close to the bus station and taxi rank. The main street provides all the basic essentials, several restaurants, a couple of chemists etc. Chora is some 40 minutes from the port of Gavrio and our taxi cost us €50.00 – organised by the hotel. There is parking at the hotel in a basement garage. Reception is a dedicated area and is permanently staffed. There are public areas on the floor below the reception area (there is a small lift) with comfortable soft seating, all of which serves as an ante-room to two dining areas, one indoor and one outdoor. There is a bar at the end of the indoor dining room. We took our drinks back into the lounge area and received further service there. There is a small, well maintained and attractive pool, but it is by no means Olympic sized! Our room was on the street level overlooking the pool – this is the same floor as reception and a number of other bedrooms. There was plenty of space in the room and it was comfortably furnished. Aircon/heating was efficient. The bed was larger than a double with excellent, high-thread count linen. It was very comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom had an overbath shower and access would be difficult for residents short in height (like me!) but the whole bathroom and bedroom were well maintained and clean – indeed housekeeping throughout the hotel was excellent with regular cleaning down of all surfaces – including menus! We experienced no significant noise and the wifi was OK. Staff were attentive, had excellent English and displayed a professionalism that would be the envy of many other hotels. We took breakfast which was a buffet – it was extensive and imaginative providing food that was out of the ordinary. Excellent vegetarian selection. We took lunch on two occasions but did not dine – even at lunch there was a wide selection of high quality food. The restaurant is open to the public for lunch and dinner. Food was excellent and good value. In our short stay we did not find very many other restaurants which provided a menu out of the ordinary but Endochora, in the main street, did and we would recommend it. We believe that less abled visitors would find Andros a challenge and although we have no doubt that the hotel would seek to accommodate them the hilly nature of the town and island might be difficult. We saw no evidence of the hotel taking groups and we would believe it doesn’t. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would certainly return to it without hesitation.
