Hotellerie De Mascognaz

We have been coming to Champoluc for 20 years, and wanted to try this resort given its reputation. Lets start with the positive - this is a beautifully restored hamlet, and our chalet was spacious and beautifully appointed (which you would expect at this price point) We had a few minor negatives during our stay: - whilst the restaurant staff were all very friendly, food was very variable - some dishes were truly excellent, others were laughably bad. Everything is very rich. Breakfasts were tasty but limited. Bar prices are excessive - way higher than anywhere else in town, and drinks are average at best. They serve filtered tap water at dinner and have the cheek to charge you as if you are drinking San Pelligrino! - The spa is a decent facility, let down by the staff, who dont enforce the 'adults only' hours (and dont care when you point this out them). The spa is also a 15 minute walk from the main village, along an exposed pathway, so not exactly a relaxing place to go. And we had some MAJOR negatives: - transportation to the main town is via skidoo and minibus - more than once we were waiting 45 minutes in town to be collected, which becomes very dull after the initial novelty. Apparently they are struggling to find drivers, but when you point out the issue to management they dont seem to think it is an issue(!) - the skidoos themselves are a major health and safety issue. You sit in a four person 'chariot' attached to the back of the skidoo, and ours became detached when the skidoo hit a bump on the track, causing the chariot to crash into the skidoo, leaving us shaken and with minor bruising. Luckily this happened on the flat path - had it happened on the steep mountain path it would have potentially been fatal. Again on reporting this to management we got little more than a shoulder shrug. We checked out early because of this, and I would urge anyone using this transport to be very cautious. The resort's biggest issue appears to be new management, who arrived recently from Germany - they completely lack the ability to run a resort of this class and are ruining it as a result - you can sense the tension among the longer-serving staff. We will not be returning - there are fabulous hotels in the village that do so much more to deserve our custom.

The staff here were excellent, helpful and friendly with great communication skills. The cocktails were skilfully served and the spa manager was exceptionally helpful. I loved the sauna and the view from the swimming pool. This place is surrounded by epic nature and while the weather was very changeable we were warm and comfortable inside.

Highly recommend this professional and beautiful hotel - staff were delightful and so accommodating. Couldn’t have asked for more from my room - they responded to my requests really promptly and kept offering to help. I came away feeling pampered and rested The setting is stunning 💓💓💓💓

Stunning place to visit, we had a gorgeous room. Loved using the attached spa, felt very at home - the staff were amazing, could not have been more helpful and friendly. In particular the massage I booked was one of the best I have ever had. Delicious food and fabulous walks with our lovely guide who was so knowledgable. Cannot wait to come back next year!

Where to begin... My husband and I took our first vacation in the mountains this past weekend at Hotellerie de Mascognaz and we had an incredible experience! Everything was perfection, from the cozy room to the top notch service and the breathtaking surroundings! It felt as if we were in a secluded mountain village with all the comforts we could ask for. We also traveled with our English Bulldog, Rocco, and he had the best time! The staff and hotel are extremely pet friendly and we found everyone to be extremely respectful, friendly, and available. We will surely be back soon!

Erano anni che seguivo sui social la struttura, scoperta casualmente su una rivista di settore:quindi le mie aspettative erano molto alte! Arrivati sul posto ci è sembrato subito di vivere in una fiaba: dalla salita in motoslitta, al villaggio walser splendidamente ristrutturato e innevato! E’ importante non dimenticare mai di trovarsi ad oltre 1.800 m di altitudine e quindi del valore aggiunto di ogni servizio ricevuto in quota: pertanto, un plauso particolare al lavoro svolto da tutto il personale, capace di farti sentire a casa. Consiglio di vivere pienamente quello che la struttura può offrire: le fantastiche ciaspolate con la preparatissima guida Nerinka; la Spa, molto essenziale, ma diretta da operatrici altamente qualificate; i due ristoranti, sicuramente di qualità, ma con un menù limitato nell’offerta dei piatti. Mi auguro di ritornare presto, magari d’estate….
