We stayed at Vantaris Palace in October-November 2023. Two adults and two teenage kids. Location: The hotel is located on the beach and has a dedicated piece of it too. Easy drive from Chania airport (about 45 min). The hotel is on the outskirts of the village and the nearest supermarket (quite decent) is just in a 3 min walking distance. The hotel grounds are very green and well looked after. There are lots of pretty palm trees there. Car park: The car park is large and there is also plenty of parking on the nearby lane. Reception/Main hall: The main hall has lots of sofas and armchairs and coffee tables. There is also an adjacent bar there and a jewellery shop. Rooms: The rooms are very clean and have all necessary facilities, such as a mini-fridge, a kettle, a safe box (at extra 2 EUR per day), a TV set, an Air Conditioner, all shower accessories (shampoo, shower gels, soap bars...). The balcony door has a sliding anti-mosquito net which can help a lot (there were not many mosquitos during out stay there anyway.) One small and one large towel per person get changed daily. A pair of soft slippers per guest is provided too. You also get a large good quality beach/pool towel per person which can get exchanged twice a day if desired. Swimming pools: There is a selection of swimming pools of various sizes for adults and kids. The pools are open between 10:00 - 18:00 and there are plenty of free sun loungers and parasols around the pools. A lifeguard is present there too, so the kids can be left unsupervised if necessary. Restaurant/Food: There are plenty of tables of various sizes both indoors and outdoors by the swimming pool. The food variety and quality is great and is probably better than in the village tavernas. On Wednesdays they do Greek nights with traditional barbeques (souvlaki, gyros, etc..) in addition to the usual selection. Entertainment / Games rooms / Sports facilities: During our stay there were visiting musicians, dancers and other entertainers in the evenings. On the Greek night there was a traditional Greek band and dancers. Not too loud or noisy, so you can relax quietly in your room or in other areas if you want to avoid the evening music. There is a tennis court, an outdoor table tennis as well as an indoor games room. Spa/Massage: (We have not used these so cannot comment). Beach bar / Taverna: There is a dedicated taverna + beech bar - it offers a good choice of meals for lunch and they serve great Greek coffee! The food and drinks can be charged to the room. Beach: The beach is mostly sandy with occasional small pebble patches. There are sun loungers and parasols (3 EUR rent per bed per day and can be charged to the room, so there is no need to carry cash to the beach). There are fresh water showers too. Staff: Very nice, friendly and helpful staff everywhere! Overall impresson: Excellent, all of us liked it very much and we are likely to go to this place again.
