Palacio de Arce

I loved staying here! The breakfast and room were superb! It felt like a castle inside and I loved looking out the stone window to the courtyard below. It’s in a remote area but if you walk a little ways down there is a pizzeria and shop with treats and beer. Just a really nice place to land as we walked the Camino de Santiago.

We stayed here on our Camino del Nortes Pluses Nice reception Good sized room and bath Food, though expensive for northern Spain, was of a very high standard Lift so no carrying of cases upstairs Minuses Slightly hard to locate but the pluses more than make up for this. We would stay again if in the area.

Lovely building old Palace with modern facilities. Free on site parking. Warm and some of the best beds and pillows we have had for some time in travelling . Reception was very warm and welcoming with a smile and very profesional book in experience . Like wise we ate in the evening in the restaurant 1 starter between us 2x Sirloin steaks and 1 desert plus tea bottle of Riberra wine 20 euros . Whole meal 100 euros . The food was very good and the setting also . Special mention for the receptionist and breakfast host we didn't get her name and for Helena who attended us in the evening with a smile and real friendliness. Was much appreciated . The whole experience was a delight and if it wasn't full we would have stayed another night . Room with breakfast ( which was very good Spanish style no hot food ) 60 something euros . We wanted gluten free and lactose free and all was provided . We hope to visit again when we are in the area on our way to the ferry port 20 mins away and easy to find with sat nav: We were in room 106, lovely and warm too. Highly reccomended we also found a good Tapas snack bar The Oxford a few minutes away and several restaurants not to far away one Hostal Del Pericote we didn't eat there but it looked good with good reviews . The Oxford a few minutes away we had a lunch snack Potato Tortilla and a Jambon Boccarillio 2 teas 7 euros , they also do a menu of the day 16 euros . Hope this helps you all. This is a fantastic hotel. The staff are friendly and attentive. The building and bedrooms are really lovely. The food in the restaurant is fantastic.. A perfect stop for us en route from the Santander Ferry, but a great destination in its own right. We will hopefully return on our next trip to Spain. A great start to our road trip!

Run by a lovely, attentive family. Bit off the beaten track but that's one of its charms and well worth the trouble. Beautiful hotel, exquisite room and the best breakfast we had in three weeks of travel through Italy, France and Spain!

Romantic Spain is easy to discover here. Really friendly staff. Enjoyed having fun understanding how to eat Spanish style breakfasts. The room was clean and beds were perfect. Showers were hot and the fresh orange juice was delightful. The only mistake I made was to allow my smartphone to deactivate my electronic door key. Please pass my thanks to the other Cuban guest that rescued a confused non Spanish guest late at night on the Feast of the 3 Kings. Happy New Year

Convenient for the ferry

One of the best choices we made to stay that night. The staff were very friendly and everyone was very professional. The food at the restaurant is amazing. Even if you are not staying, this is a wonderful place to have a delicious dinner with a special person. Highly recommend it.
